Came here as a party of 6 but 2 of us shared a meal. We all work 1 block away at a large hotel and also act as concierge when needed. The reason for our trip was a moving away dinner as one of our coworkers/friends are moving out of NYC. Just the atmosphere and vibe we got from the employees made us feel uncomfortable. Almost like we were not good enough to be there. Wine/are I guess average price for that area($ 12/wine, $ 13 Jameson on rocks) but the food was completely overpriced. I ordered the chicken parm and it was pounded so thin that the breading was thicker than the chicken was. And the breading wasn’t even that thick. When we finally got the check I noticed the chicken parm was prices incorrectly at $ 28 instead of $ 27 so I mentioned it to the waiter so he could fix it and when he brought the receipt back he said since we are a party of 6 we had add the gratuity on(18% btw). Normally this would be fine if we were all satisfied with our meal but we were not treated friendly and we felt uncomfortable. At no time did the waiter stop over and ask if our meal was ok or if we wanted another drink. He literally dropped our dishes and took off to the next table. I’m sorry, but if you’re going to have chicken parm at $ 27 a plate you need to have better service. Also I’m assuming he was the manager, the older gentleman at the door, we casually mentioned this to him and he said the waiter should not have added gratuity on and so he called him downstairs. Uncomfortable. He said the head captain told him to. So the old man guy asked if we wanted any of the money back. Ummm I said no bc first of all that’s awkward and weird. Idk overall I would not eat here again. Go elsewhere for Italian food. Cheaper price and friendlier service. Here’s a tip to Patsy’s: be nice. Talk to your customers. Don’t add on tip ASSUMING everyone feels comfortable paying that much. It’s called gratuity for a reason. Rant done. P. s. I’m not a foodie, just a regular person who eats regular food.

Gag. This place is a bore. Shitty food. Shitty service. Cramped tables. Dirty walls, floors, uniforms. The hostess is another midtown tragedy. One star for good prosecco.

Six of us arrived separately for a farewell dinner for a friend leaving town, and four of us found the hostess to be rude and dismissive. The waiters were not particularly friendly, and seemed to wear the history of their company like a millstone. It’s hard to understand how this restaurant has existed for 75 years. The food was ok, but not amazing. The portions were large and garnished like the 1980s.

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to voice this experience. Hostess was rude, I asked if I was in the right place and she looked at me as if I was a crackhead or something, pure disgust at me. The waiters weren’t necessarily rude, just unfriendly and the whole atmosphere was very uncomfortable. The food was very average considering the price. They also delivered the check with wrong amounts for food and when we corrected their error they also added on 18% gratuity because I guess because I wanted to pay the actual price for my food they got worried we would tip badly. Ridiculous. Wouldn’t go here again if you paid me.

Patsy’s was excellent! Amazing service and the best veal Milanese we’ve ever had. We went to celebrate my son’s birthday and Patsy’s was the perfect place!

Best food ever. Get the gnocchi with meat sauce(it’s veal). Boyfriend got the stuffed pork chops with roasted red peppers and vinegar– to die for. Old school décor, Sal is amazing. He gave us a free jar of sauce since we were first time visitors. The food is really overwhelming. We’re in NY for 4 more days and we plan on eating here every night.

Good food, wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. We visited here for our anniversary. Was able to get in luckily on a Saturday night without reservation before the rush(I think someone had just cancelled and we got lucky). The bread appetizer was good, meal was so-so and dessert was really good!

We enjoyed our Italian dinner at Patsy’s before seeing the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in December. While researching this restaurant online, I saw that many celebrities have dined here, which added to the excitement factor-perhaps Rhianna sat at our very table! We were asked to leave our coats at the front to my disappointment-I was quite chilly and didn’t want to give it up. Once seated, we were given three HUGE loaves of crusty, French bread to share among the 5 of us, and not a single piece was left uneaten. The bread kept us satisfied until our food arrived. I ordered the Trio of Ravioli, a dish that I very much appreciated because of the fact that it allowed me to get a taste of three different types of ravioli with their own distinct sauce. I liked this because I can never decide on a single type of ravioli or pasta! My cousin had the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, which I tried a bite of and was not too impressed with-it lacked some flavor. I was able to snag bites of the Lasagna and Manicotti that my other friends ordered, both which were delicious. The waiters were definitely authentic Italians who praised our empty plates with a firm but pleased«good job» as they came by and collected our dishes. Throughout our entire meal, we couldn’t stop eyeing the dessert cart and, of course, had to get something to share. We went for the Napoleon(I think it was called), which was puff pastry layered with pasty cream-a light dessert that was perfect with coffee. Everyone in our party left satisfied and happy with their meals. There are so many Italian eateries in the city, but finding a good one is key. The food at Patsy’s is authentic and tastes homemade, just like the Italians desire it to be.

I like Patsy’s but not the prices. Way too expensive for the type of dishes they are serving. At a lower price point I may go back again. The old school service is outstanding. Everyone is very professional and the chef/owner even came out to greet every table and check if we enjoyed our meals. Nice touch. Bread was typical Italian bread. The salads were very good and prepared table side by our waiter. The main meals were mixed. The eggplant parmagiana was a bit mushy but tasted good and we enjoyed the sauce. The odd thing is that they did not plate it over pasta our include a side dish of pasta. Same with the stuffed calamari. The puttanesca was very good. I had the pork rollatine wrapped with bacon. This was probably the best dish and included mashed potatoes and string beans. Took home about half the meal. The dessert from the cart was mediocre. One was a chocolate cake another was tiramisu and the only other item was strawberries and whipped cream. Only 3 desserts. Maybe add cookies or another item? Espresso was very good. Only wine by the glass was house wine at $ 12. The actual look of the restaurant is dated which adds to the charm but it could use a painting and one of the mirrors were cracked. Overall the sauce was very good and I would go again just for that. Maybe prix fix lunch at $ 35 would be a good bet.

If you’re in the mood for a really cozy dinner, Patsy’s is the way to go. We were lucky to get a table for two after a short wait, so I got to take a nice sneak peak at the dessert cart– my oh my. Everything looked amazing. I ended up going with the traditional spaghetti and meatballs and by meatballs I mean one giant meatball! The meatball was really soft since there was a bit of bread in it, unlike my mom’s German meatballs which are purely meat. Highly recommend it! My mom got one of the specials which was spaghetti with grilled chicken and spicy peppers, which was veryy spicy(in a good way) but also very oily. I definitely recommend getting a classic. Next time I’ll try the linguine and clams :)

The service was sub par, the food was just ehh, I would have loved another glass of wine but our server was more concerned about the regular patrons! Eggplant was somewhat boring. Calamari was way under cooked and tough. Pasta with meat sauce was way too salty! I’m baffled to see a hostess with his tie not tightened in a Restauraunt of this caliber and I expect service manners, don’t reach over me to serve my other guest! Coat check was nice!

I went here with a friend, Overall the food was pretty good. The portion sizes were nice. I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce and friend of mine ordered a chicken dish. The gnocchi was tasty and cooked well. My friend raved about her chicken dish. I wish the service was a little better, however they were busy. The reason I gave this eatery a three star rating is because for a New York restaurant it was average. Would I go back again? I guess If I was in the area, buy I would not go out of my way.

Ok, the bread was off the shelf nothing special. Not worth the calories. However, the service, the table for two by the window in the bar, the owner coming over to talk to us, the owner giving us a jar of their vodka sauce, and mostly, the perfectly cooked generous plates of gnocchi with meat sauce and baked pasta with cheeses were outstanding. Delicious, homemade food! If I had to find a criticism it was that the waiter didn’t ask us if we wanted to start with an appetizer or salad. We were prepared to split a salad. We weren’t sure if they needed our table, as we had come in without a reservation. Makes no difference we were treated like old family friends! Loved it! Every city should be so lucky!

This was my post-marathon dinner. This is super old school N.Y. Supper type place, at least my image of that. Small bar, elegant, and a «coat room» with a clerk giving you a tag for your coat. Love it. The food was outstanding. Maybe everything I would have eaten that evening would have been outstanding, but I am somewhat discerning, and I believe this was — I had a filet mignon and salad, and it tasted beyond belief. If you want elegant, delicious, New York theater italian(with a rich history btw – lots of cool photos) you have to check this place out.

Made my way to Patsy’s for some pre-NYC Marathon carbo-loading tonight. Though dining alone, the staff made me comfortable at a table for one and was attentive and friendly. Homemade bread made its way to the table warm and ready to snack on before the meal. Though the menu was awesome looking, I had to play it safe to not upset the stomach the night before a marathon and went with the spaghetti marinara. The spaghetti was served nicely al dente and the marinara sauce had nice chunks of tomatoes and loads of fresh basil mixed in that made the meal just perfect. If I am ever back in NYC for a dinner without a marathon the next morning, I’ll certainly head back to Patsy’s to check out some of their other offerings.

My experience at Patsy’s fell flat unfortunately. Fifty years ago when palettes were less varied, the dishes would have hit the spot, but it doesn’t feel like the recipes have adapted over time. It’s a shame the dishes’ flavors and décor aren’t at all current, since you can tell the staff and chef absolutely put their heart and soul into the place. Toward the end of our meal, the chef came out around and checked on all of the tables personally. That was a lovely touch. The rundown: My friend and I ate dinner here on a Thursday evening and even without a reservation we had no problem getting a table immediately.(That said, it seems reservations would be smart, this place fills up!) I ordered the eggplant parmesan and she the linguini with pesto. The prices are extremely high so be ready for sticker shock — even for Manhattan. An 8 oz. glass of soda was $ 6! That’s higher than Yankee Stadium pricing! But, I digress. Back to the meal. They brought out complimentary bread and olive oil — the bread was cold and the olive oil had no flavor to it whatsoever. When my eggplant parm came out, I was disappointed it wasn’t served with any sort of side dish since for $ 24, I was expecting something more than some breaded eggplant. Even a small portion of veggies, pasta or salad would have made it worthwhile. As for the flavor, it was bland. The eggplant was sliced so thin that it practically melted into the batter — half of the eggplant pieces I cut into were missing eggplant. The sauce was ok, but when one orders eggplant parm, they expect to see and taste the eggplant! I didn’t even bring leftovers home since all they included were empty eggplant breading with sauce. While I didn’t taste my friend’s linguini with pesto, I noticed that she salted and peppered the dish four times over the course of the meal. For a sauce like pesto which should be chock full of parmesan — a nutty, salty cheese — that much salt shouldn’t be necessary.(And no, she’s not a salt-o-holic.) Décor was beyond outdated. Heavy curtains and mirrors everywhere — this place needs a huge renovation. It’s one thing to be vintage and retro, but this place is just too old. Waiters wear heavy coats which look worn. Just switching over to black slacks and crisp white shirts would be a huge improvement! I think Patsy’s would be a home run, pack-the-house-every-night kind of place if they simply updated their décor and flavor profiles.

During this weekend stay in NYC, went back to this place twice. Casual, easy sit down place, with thin crust very taste pizza. awesome salad, family size shared meals. Pasta was ok, but highly recommend pizza and salad. Wine list are great too
