Ordered on Grubhub and when I showed up I was told that they had mistakenly put the wrong price on Grubhub and refused to honor my order unless I paid an addition $ 13. Which is actually illegal, as charging a different price than what is listed on a menu is against the law. Wasted a good portion of my lunch break walking there and getting no food. I used to be a loyal customer, but I will never go back again. Smart customer service.

Way over priced for the quality of food. Even packaged food is very expensive. The selection is pretty extensive but there are better quality«delis» in the area at more acceptable prices.

Came here for a quick breakfast. Bacon, egg and cheese was perfect! Nice and quick. Ordered a side of hash browns which I would not do again, they were kind of tasteless.

All Pax locations should offer the same thing. There are too many fancy delis offering the same in the garment district. My salad was the same salad that could be purchased at 50 other places in a ten block radius. why do we need to come here Pax!?! Come on give me a reason

I usually love this place. But this particular incident really rubbed me the wrong way. I wanted a salad. First off the salad board is 100% incomprehensible. So good job with that. Next, after everything I requested the salad maker kept telling me «this costs extra, you don’t want this». If I didn’t want it, I wouldn’t have asked for it. Such a terrible experience, I actually left my salad. I was just trying to get my lunch. Don’t ask me what I do or do not want, just do what you’re supposed to do at your minimum wage job: make my salad. Will be avoiding pax for a while now.

This was by far the most disgusting lunch I have ever had in my life here in New York. I asked for a Sante Fe Chicken Salad, the man behind the counter told me to tell him what was in it and I can’t read off the menu… ? I got my salad, my avocado was black, I stormed to the manager and told him and he went to check the avocados to realize they were all molded and stale. Never again, I’d rather go to Pret. Yuck. I had them make me a new salad which was worse then the first. Ugh I’m sick thinking about it

I will never go here again. I was in line and ordered a breakfast wrap. A guy came in after me and ordered an egg and cheese on a roll. They asked him if he wanted bacon and he said no. When he went to pay a man behind the counter who was giving out the orders said«I heard you order a number 3» with a bad attitude. He continued to tell the guy this until the guy asked what a number three was. The guy said bacon, egg and cheese on a roll. He replies«I don’t need bacon». Again the guy gives him an attitude and the customer almost leaves. I step in and tell the man that he did not order a number three. The man yells at me. I ask who he is, if he’s a manager. He says he is the owner. I say Wow and leave the establishment saying I refuse to spend a dime in here. How can an owner treat customers like that? Read the other reviews, I am not he only one who has said the OWNERWASRUDE. Don’t give money to this kind of place. Why make a terrible human more rich. Why? There are many other places in the area. Boycott it until it closes down ! Maybe they will then put a Chipotle or Dean and DeLuca. STAYAWAY.

I have read the bad reviews here, and I am surprised, because I don’t think this Pax is so bad. The food here is decent, and the staff has been nice(at least that is my personal experience). Yeah, it is a bit overpriced, but that is par for the area. OK, the place is shabby, and there are better Pax locations(the one on 42nd St. near 3rd Avenue is much nicer in terms of décor). However, you have Bryant Park across the street, which is wonderful place to eat lunch when the weather is nice.

I’m surprised this place has such terrible reviews. I went for lunch hour and it was super fast that I felt I didn’t have much time to make a decision! I’d suggest looking at the menu ahead of time just to know what options are available. The food is good enough for lunch and a little on the expensive side, but that’s just New York.

Despite seeing that bad reviews that were left for this place, I still decided to come here to pick up lunch one afternoon. I settled for the penne bolognese pasta with grated cheese. The order even came with complementary garlic bread! The pasta itself wasn’t bad… a little on the watery side though. The store was well lit with an abundance of tables and it was generally kept clean. Would I return? Sure!

I really wish someone with some authority at Pax would read some of these reviews and take them to heart, but honestly, this place is always busy thanks to its prime location, i see no reason why they would implement any changes. I’m a frequent regular since my office is just next door and I’ve gotten into the bad habit of coming here on busy days when I have no time to venture past the corner for grub. All too often I’m disappointed with Pax. Their portions are on the smaller side and I usually walk away still hungry :(. Additionally, everything is overpriced up the wazoo, there are so many great options in midtown west where I can get way better value for my money. In fact, I believe that in writing this review I have talked myself out of ever coming back here! Some questions for Pax before I sign off: –Why do you charge an extra dollar for my sandwich to be a bowl? –Why are the burrito bowls half an inch deep? They’re so small… –Why are there always two people at the one front cash register? They are ALWAYS obnoxiously chatting and take longer to expedite the process. –Why are your salad topping prices exorbitant? $ 4 for a few measly pieces of shrimp? Do you want my blood too? –Why is there no clear line-up system? Customers are always confused and end up cutting me. –Why is there no consistency? I’ve gotten charged $ 12 for a salad where it was $ 9 on a separate occasion for the same salad Why…why…why…

First time going into a Pax today and never coming back. First of all their name is deceitful. I imagined the place to be a restaurant version of Whole Foods. Instead, they have some healthy options but mostly calorie bombs everywhere. The unhealthy crap makes me wary of the healthy food. The store is strangely planned and leads to confusion everywhere. The customers are confused, the employees are confused… I ordered my breakfast sandwich and stepped out of the order line to get an orange juice. To pay, it seemed like I needed to wait in the order line again or cut in line… The cashier gave my sandwich to some other customer and made a futile attempt at chasing them down. They proceeded to make a new sandwich while the guy I cut paid for his, opened it up and found he got a different order. When I finally got my god forsaken egg, cheese and bacon on a croissant, the cashier asked me if I wanted ketchup, which was a trick question because I discovered there was no ketchup when I got to the office. Lastly, I paid $ 11.51 for this sad sandwich and an orange juice. I’ve gotten better breakfast sandwiches at QuickChek.

Read some of the reviews and was surprise. Although I’m only a coffee user of this establishment I was pleasantly surprise to find the best coffee and at the same time the best value for your buck on this block near Brayant Park. Every morning after getting off the train on 40th and 6 on my way to work I stop here to grab my morning ice coffee. A large ice coffee cost $ 2.99 way cheaper than the one at la pain or blue bottle and better taste! The pastries looks amazing and overall the place is well staff with nice people and very clean! Would recommend dropping by here for a morning coffee!

AVOID! What a ripoff. I ventured outside of the office to enjoy the weather and decided to buy a salad here. I ordered this: Romaine, olives, mushrooms, shrimp, avocado, dressing Diet Dr Pepper Total cost? $ 16.83. I sh** you not, I thought the cashier was charging me for the guy behind me so I told her I was only paying for myself, and that was when she told me that no, that was the cost for my meal. What the? The receipt says $ 5.75 for what must have been only the lettuce, and then two $ 0.99 charges, an additional $ 1.49 charge, and a final $ 3.99 charge which must have been for the overcooked shrimp. Did they charge me for breathing their air? For the plastic container that the salad came in? Who knows. I was shell shocked like a ninja turtle and have vowed never to go back. There are a million better options out there!

The burrito station is where it’s at! Loads of fresh ingredients, and they only thing they charge extra $ for is guacamole– no surprises there. For the city, this has a decent amount of tables to sit if you happen to get lucky and nab one. Looks like they had a nice variety of pre-made sandwiches, salads, big iced teas and lemonades– perfect if you’re just running in to grab something to go. Prices weren’t outrageous from what I noticed. Seemed clean enough, and the minimal interaction I had with the staff wasn’t really memorable, but you don’t really go to Pax for stellar service; it’s a quick bite to eat, and it serves that purpose just fine.

In the past it was good, but this is my 3 or 4th visit and it’s not quite what I remembered when I first came here. I only came here for the convenience and they serve basil pesto pasta which is my favorite. Now it’s just too oily and the staff can be rude. I should start looking somewhere else when I get my pasta craving.

DONOTEATHERE. The less people who eat here the more likely they will close and this will be replaced by something better. The owners are RUDE, I have never seen anyone smile in there, and this morning I paid $ 9.80 for a two egg omelette with basic fillings. Normally this comes with toast and potatoes which I didn’t want but still the price remains the same. Frankly I could have bought free range eggs, the best quality bacon and organic kale and made my own omelettes for a month compared to this gouge pricing. I’ve already a few experiences where I thought it seemed steep or the staff seemed beyond rude. Guy and Gaillard is much better, or frankly McDonalds. DONOTGOHERE. Simple.

PAX is conveniently located close to my job but $ 15 for a salad is kind of crazy… even for NYC! I normally just grab my food and go but they do have a few tables for people to stay and eat. For their expensive prices I give PAX2 or 3 stars. As far as delivery goes, I give them 5 stars! They are excellent. I order breakfast from here once or twice a week and my food is always delivered promptly and correctly. In one instance when I ordered delivery they delivered the wrong sandwich to me. Before I could pick up the phone to call them they called me, advising me they made a mistake and were sending my correct order ASAP. I only had to wait an additional 5 minutes, and my friend got a free breakfast sandwich out of it. I will continue to order from them for as long as I’m working out of my current office!

Originally I thought this PAX wasn’t too bad. People are funny and when it’s not too busy it’s a pretty nice place. Sure they definitely charge more for most food items and other PAXes in the area – but I blame that on their proximity to Bryant Park and gouging tourists. But after a month of pretty consistently patronizing this place it’s gone completely downhill – slow, missing certain key food items and just completely disorganized. Today was definitely my last trip to this location.

I used to work by the Pax near 42nd& Third and it was a treat to get the chicken fajita Panini for lunch. I hadn’t been to a Pax in years so as hunger pangs nearly crippled me as I walked down 6th Ave, I decided to revisit the past and order a chicken fajita Panini. It was just as good as I remember. What is not as good is that the sandwich, a small bag of chips, a cookie and a soda cost over $ 16! Sorry, but the meal was not worth it. Service was not rude, just indifferent. The place was fairly clean but if I’m paying that much for a sandwich, I should be getting a free pedicure while I eat. Just proves, you can’t go back.
