I called them to find out the time of a meeting. The guy who I spoke with was a total douche (sorry for the language, but that really is a perfect description). And he could not or would not tell me what time the meeting was. So how can a facility not know their space usage schedule? It made me wonder whether that is their general attitude towards addicts? Kind of a red flag…
I have no idea whether it is a decent rehab or not (I do not hear anyone singing its praises in the rooms), but if a new comer in the program asks me about Phoenix House, I can only tell them the above.
I called their 800 number to complain, and the person I spoke with apologized and said they will send an email to the location, which was W. 74th St. in Manhattan.
