This establishment is now closed. I walked by and saw the windows covered with wallpaper. I enjoyed the coffee and their pastries but the ambiance never had that lounging, I want to write my memoirs, I want to study and ace my next exam pop culture. It was just a dive in pick up and go type of place. I guess they couldn’t generate enough traffic to stay afloat. The store front looked phenomenal. This is now my pie face rating for them =) =) =:(

Pie Face is a cool concept! Small, 3 – 4 bite pies, different flavors with random emojis drawn on. My favorite is the pecan or the pumpkin, so flavorful! I’ve had other flavors that I am not a big fan of but I always stop by here because its’ become tradition for me to do so when coming to the city. Downfall is the service sometimes, the workers can be rude. Prices are good, I think about $ 3.50−4 per pie.

After salsa dancing at the Laguna Lounge Club, we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. As we were walking on Broadway, we passed by the Letterman Studio and saw Pie Face on the corner. Small. Clean. Lots of pie selections. A few seating by the window. Two ladies with somewhat small appetite wanted to try all the pies. The waitress suggested to do the dinner special of 6 minis for $ 12. It was not too bad. Chicken mushroom, chunky steak, tandoori vegetable, bbq pulled pork, chicken parm, and minced beef w/tomato. This was fun trying out each mini and guessing what it was. Apparently, the smileys indicate the pie but we couldn’t remember which was one after asking the first time. That was the fun part to be surprised when we tasted each bite. Good snack spot.

Tasty, but Overpriced Novelty Food Food: 3.75 Stars Overall the pies have great flavor, especially the dessert(sweet) pies, however the filling for some of the savory pies is lacking for the price you pay. In terms of taste the«Pulled Pork» is my personal favorite. All the flavors you would find a good pulled pork sandwich are found in the pie, however the quantity of food inside is lacking. Only half the pie was filled with pulled pork. The remainder was empty space. The Philly Cheesesteak is good as well, and unlike the pulled pork pie, most of the pie was filled. The crusts of the pies are good as well, but if you keep it in its container for too long it will become soft and soggy(to be expected since the pie is piping hot). The sweet pies are pricey because(I believe) they use actual fruit inside the pies instead of sugary(high fructose corn syrup) fillings. I thoroughly enjoyed the mini-blueberry pie. Service: 4.25 Stars The servers/cashiers are very friendly and helpful too new and old customers alike, mainly because no one knows what to get. The first time I went, I had no idea what to get. I was given a few recommendations from the savory pies and the sweet pies. Still being undecided I bought a few sweet pies for the office and a nice savory pie for myself. Overall: 3.49 Stars The Pies are delicious and the service I have received every time I took forever deciding has been spectacular, but the price for the food is too much to give Pie Face 4 Stars. $ 6 for a «Savory Pie» and $ 3.50 for a «Sweet Pie» is ludicrous. Some pies like the Philly Cheesesteak are worth the value because they are filled to the brim with ooey-gooey goodness, but others like the pulled pork(while delicious) are lacking in quantity. Most desserts(especially in Manhattan) are on the pricey side and Pie Face is no different. However, they do make one mean dessert pie and if you have a sweet tooth this is one of the first places I would recommend in the area. I have rarely seen a line at Pie Face, so the wait for food shouldn’t be too long. Pie Face is a nice place to go to if you want to pay a little extra for a novelty lunch, but not worth it on a regular basis.

ugh, these things are greasy, not so great tasting calorie bombs! I ordered the spinach roll thinking it would be the lowest calorie option and it was the only roll without nutritional information on the display. I should’ve known. It turns out one roll is like 700+ calories(according to their website) and when I emailed the fb page to ask them about whether the calorie content was off, I was ignored. minus points for bad customer service and bad food

After dinner we stopped by Pie Face. The little pies were so cute, I couldnt resist. I had an apple crumble pie, it was amazing. I liked it more than cupcakes and I love cupcakes! Pies are $ 3.50 each or 3 for $ 9.

Sample the mini pies for about $ 4 each so you can try an assortment of flavors since there are so many to choose from! The pie itself is flakey and buttery. I’ve only tried their savory pies which are best eaten hot so dig in immediately! My top three are: 1) Thai chicken curry — hint of asian flavor and slightly sweet 2) Chunky steak — nice chunks of steak and sauce is so good 3) Chicken and mushroom — rich creamy white wine sauce with a blend of diced onions and mushroom

Obsessed with the place. The theme is so cute and comfortable. I love their pies. They are the cutest thing. I recommend the cheeseburger one & pulled pork. They also have pastries & coffee.

5 stars on novelty, 4 stars on convenience, and 2 stars on execution. Look, it’s convenient to have a tiny little place where you can stop by for a tiny amount of food — just enough to tide you over, or even serve as a meal on those days when you’re not really hungry. It’s also awesome that they have such a wide offering of savory and sweet pies. This is all good stuff. But, as far as actual pie is concerned, I thought the dough was too stiff and not flaky enough. And the dough-to-filling proportions were off(being too heavy on dough).

About a 2.5: My husband saw Pie Face out of the corner of his eye, off of Broadway, while walking around in the city. It looked so cute, and I was surprised that it was originated from Australia. The guy in there at the cashier was super friendly and awesome, and explained each of the pies, the fillings, his favorites, and his recommendations. They offer pies, mini pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches, wraps, and pastries. Savory pies are what they are known for, and flavors include: BBQ Pulled Pork, Bacon, Egg, & Cheese, Mince Beef, Chicken & Mushroom, Chunky Steak, Thai Chicken Curry, Tandoori Vegetable, and Philly Cheese Steak. We had the Chicken & Mushroom, Thai Chicken Curry, Philly Cheese Steak, and their special of the day, the Cheesy Meat Lovers. Out of all the pies we ordered, I believe the Philly Cheese Steak was the most edible, which contained chunks of soft meat with onions, garlic, and the red wine sauce. Both the chicken pies were more on the bland side, the Thai having no spices whatsoever(it just tasted like the chicken and mushroom); the Chicken & Mushroom contained no mushroom, so I’m thinking it was just the filling of the cream of mushroom? The Cheesy Meat Lovers(which I thought would be my favorite), was overly tomato-based, filled with ground beef and no cheese. The crust was okay, as it was light and flaky. I really like their cute logos and the concept, but I wasn’t a fan of their pies! I’m glad I was able to try them out, though! +friendly staff: D

I’ve been wanting to try Pie Face for some time now, because I love pie! We stopped by after seeing Cinderella(it’s conveniently located right across the street from the theater). We were reviewing Unilocal and took note to try the Chunky Steak pie, but this store was out of them! Boo… So I ended up with the Pulled Pork one but it hardly had any pork in it! wth! The sweet minis were better… I got blueberry, cherry, and an apple one. Cherry was the best of the three. My apple one had way too much crust on the bottom, and the apple filling was not quite tart enough. Oh well. At least I can say I’ve tried it now. Maybe I’ll hit up a different location some other time.

Well, really it’s like 3.5. Such a cute place and concept, applied to even littlest detail(the bag and the pie tray). Got the big chunky steak pie and the minced beef for savory pies and tried the apple crumble got dessert. The pie itself is flaky and delicious! Savory pies are best eaten hot so eat them once you get them! The fillings were tasty and satisfying. A big savorg pie can be like a lunch meal already! The apple crumble was yummy too but not remarkable. The staff was super friendly. Only downside is that there only three chairs. But overall, great food! It was decent but it wasn’t mind blowing-good. They gave me a pie card that you can stamp on each time you get a pie. 1 free pie for every 10 pies! They also have huge cookies, bread sticks, and croissants.

You really can’t go wrong… unless you don’t like pies… but if that’s the case, you have bigger problems! For my savory, I ordered the steak chunk by with smash and gravy on top. Oh so good — and you have to get the smash(mashed potatoes and mashed green peas covered in gravy) — it was warm, hearty, and full of flavor! My friends and I split three sweet pies, the lemon, pecan, and apple crumble. They were all excellent! The lemon was a little more creamy and less tart than I would have expected — but very, very delicious. The pecan tasted like a maple-syrup pie — yum! The apple crumble was the one I expected to like the most, and it was good, but it was cold and I believe apple crumble should only be eaten warm. That said, I bet you could ask them to heat it up — or if you took it home/to your office/where-ever, you could heat it yourself. Anywho — EVERYTHING looked tempting. Looking forward to indulging again sometime soon ;).

Tried out Pie Face because it was near the place we were staying. I read they had a free offer, but the girl told me they stopped it a year ago. Boo! I didn’t see the pies until later, so just got an Almond Stick which she asked if I wanted warmed up, I said Yes. It was ok, not enough almond taste. B. got a coffee he seemed to like. Some counter space only. Most people do take-out.

While I was waiting for a friend before I went to see the David Letterman show, I decided to grab a hot beverage on a ridiculously freezing day. I got myself a small hot chocolate and mini cheesecake. The hot chocolate was decently okay. Not overly sweet. Something I needed to have to get my body all warmed up. The mini cheesecake was quite disappointing. It was quite hard. Last time I checked a cheesecake was suppose to be smooth, moist, and soft. I was licking cheesecake like it was ice cream. Pie Face Bakery Café was convenient for me since it was on the same block as the David Letterman Show. The staff were really friendly and happy. This café is really small and tight. A little cramped if you ask me. Prices are decent, but for $ 7 I could have got a bigger slice of cheesecake and hot chocolate at other places.

This is just a sweet review… meaning a review of sweet pies, not savory pies. So I had a date and we went to a French bistro where I had the steak frites. It was pretty good. However, not wanting to look like a pig, I demurred when the dessert menu was presented, protesting«Oh no, I couldn’t eat another bite». So after being walked home with a chaste kiss goodnight on the corner, I waited til my date was out of sight and then went around the corner from my apartment to Pie Face to get a couple of mini-pies. Service was a little slow, considering there was only one other person in the place, but it’s Times Square so they’re not hiring people with prior experience at Nordstrom. I got a mini-cheesecake and a mini-chocolate pie. Now, I’m not going to say that I ate them both at the same time but I did eat both of them. They were both pretty decent. I liked that the cheesecake had a little bit of tanginess to it, it wasn’t overly sweet like a lot of cheesecake you get. The chocolate pie had a nice tasty filling. They were enjoyable as I consumed them and I liked the size of them. However, after eating them, there wasn’t much memorable about them. Together they were $ 7 and I probably would have preferred a big hunk of Junior’s cheesecake instead. However, for a quick sweet bite, this is a decent place.

Came here with my best friend to pick up lunch for a mini-picnic at Central Park. She couldn’t stop raving about how good the food was and how cool the food is served. The place was full with locals and tourist on line to order, which hinted to me the popularity of this place. We both ordered pies. I ended up getting the mince beef pie,(I think). It came in a box, with mash potatoes and gravy on top of it. I have to say their packaging is adorable and very comfortable to use, I really like the spacious little box and the wooden fork. It’s great for a quick bite or wanting to save some for later. As for the taste, the food was really tasty. The meal was neatly and carefully served in the Pie Face box. It was cooked through to the bottom, very hot, flavorful and rich. Everything was just a delight. I was surprisingly full and left some for later. I would say, at least about the meal I had, it’s the kind of food that no matter where you are from you get it and you enjoy how well put together the flavors and ingredients are. I would totally come back to Pie Face. They got it going on.

3.5 stars — For every first Tuesday of each month, one can stop by any Pie Face location and claim a free pie with a tweet, facebook, or instagram post. After an exhausting day of clinic, decided to stop by with my instagram post and pick up the freebie. They were offering minced beef with tomato chutney mini pie as the freebie flavor this month. There were two workers standing by the door advertising and helping potential customers claim the offer. As I walked right up to the counter, I flashed my instagram post and were immediately acknowledged. I walked in and out of the store in less than a minute — left happily with the warm mini pie bagged into a cookie bag. Munched it all down on my walk home — and it was as good as I remembered them at my engagement party. Regularly a mini pie cost about 3 dollars which isn’t bad compared to all the cupcakes we usually get in the city. A regular sized pie is about 6 dollars. Can’t wait to see what flavor is in store next month.

This place is best if visited just for the novelty of their sweet and savory treats rather than for their tastiness. I visited here twice on my last visit to NYC, but the second time was not for another round of their pies. Their coffee was the only thing worth coming back for, which I will say is pretty good. Definitely better than Starbucks! The first visit I ordered both sweet and savory pies. From what I remember I know I tried a blueberry, cherry, chicken and mushroom, and pulled pork. The option to have the pies heated or served cold was brought up upon completing my order, and opted to have the savories heated and the sweet left cold. Now I kind wish I would have asked for all of them to be heated, but at the time it was pretty warm out so the idea of four hot pies was a little much. I couldn’t say that any of the mini pies were terrible, and I couldn’t look at the cute faces branded into their crusts without smiling, but they were not life changing by any means. They were very similar in taste to anything that can be purchased in a local grocery. The only difference being the premium price paid for what adds up to be only a specialized store and a smiley face. Worth it once? Yeah! The Pie Face concept is super fun and will surely put a smile on your face. Worth it twice? Only if your need a caffeine fix and are in the area.

I’ve been snogging Pie Faces after having their savory and sweet pies at Unilocal’s Holiday Hangover party. My coworkers, family, and friends probably want to tape a «STFU» emoticon over my face after hearing me rave nonstop for the past 2 months. They’re a great conversation starter when you roll up to a potluck with some snarky looking friends. When I first posted a pie face to FB, my Australian mates immediately responded with: «ISTHATPIEFACE?» They were excited to know that this store has hit NYC. Pie Face makes it easy for you to identify which flavor you’re eating, by way of the emoticon face etched into the top crust of your pie. V = vegetarian. :S = steak. :) = cherry. You get the idea. I would recommend that you start with the 6 mini pies(about 3 bites for each). At $ 2.50 per mini pie, they won’t bankrupt you and you get to try all the different flavors to pinpoint which of their pies is your favorite. No worries if you can’t finish them all in one sitting(what are you, a bird?). Pop them in the microwave for 45 seconds and they won’t turn into a soggy mess. TRUSTME! PS. I’d love for this to be on my next pie. hint hint wink wink… =(^.^)=
