These folks saved me the other day. I was in town for a wedding. When I was getting dressed, the zipper on the dress that I had brought had broken and I couldn’t wear it. I had to get something quickly, so I tore down 5th Ave in search of something to replace it with. 2 stores later, I landed at Pony. The staff there were so helpful! I picked out a few dresses, and they picked out some to help with the search. I ended up buying a very reasonably priced dress through the help of one of the staff. I couldn’t be happier. My partner even said that the new dress looked better than the one I had originally brought. THANKSPONY!

This shop is a great place to come get amazing finds. Many unique items available definitely put it on your list as a to go. Great finds, great prices and Lynette, the owner, is a doll!

I found four fabulous pieces for $ 175. Not terribly inexpensive, but a wonderful, well-kept, boutiquey selection. Not to mention — unlike some of its counterparts — it actually stayed open until its posted closing time. Trekked out in the snow yesterday and was very frustrated to discover BOTH Hooti Couture and Guvnor’s Vintage had closed at least an hour early. Pony Shop made my outing worth it!

This is probably the best thrift store I’ve been to. They have a funky and wearable collection of clothes. The manager working was particularly helpful and sweet. Without being pushy(my pet peeve when shopping) she helped me pick out some ideal items for my winter wardrobe. Everything I bought was in wonderful condition and reasonably priced. Between this shop and their slightly dressier sister shop, two lovers, I had a wonderfully successful thrifting trip while visiting Brooklyn.

I am somewhere in between what seemed to me to be the 2 levels of clothing at Pony: 1. The vintage: 70’s dresses, patterns, cutesy things 2. The Normal: A random smattering of moderately upscale average clothing The prices of the dresses that I looked at in this store were in the 40’s and 50’s. This is my usual issue with small thrift stores, if you don’t share the taste of the clothes buyer there really isn’t much else to choose from. Other than that, the store is cute, nicely laid out and not overwhelming, and the staff is nice.

Pony is a pleasant, colorful, vibrant boutique. Though it’s true that I have bought a couple of items from Pony and then found the same pieces across the street at Beacon’s for less, I still return to Pony because of their aesthetic and for the experience. I love the colors and prints that the buyer chooses, it feels like the store has been curated. The organization(by color) is nice, and I have always enjoyed interacting with the women who work there. And they have realllly cute clothes.

I really, really love Pony shop. While it might be a tad bit pricey, it really delivers with great, hand-picked vintage and gently worn contemporary designer goods. I seriously never leave this shop without buying something, which can be a dangerous habit. My advice: call ahead to see what they are buying(if they are still buying for the season) and bring a few items that haven’t worked in your wardrobe. This way you can trade for chic new clothes without making a dent in your wallet. Also — don’t forget to peruse Pony’s sweet selection of accessories. The owner really has a great eye for accent pieces!

Pony has got to be one of the keenest shops I’ve ever been into. Mind you, I’m not a huge fan of vintage shopping. The idea of wearing someone else’s clothes weirds me out to no end. You don’t know where it’s been! Not only do they have an excellent collection of second-hand designer goods from Marc Jacobs to Diane von Furstenberg at affordable prices, but they steam and clean each one of their pieces. My favorite part has to be their selection of jewelry, bags and belts. Not to mention, Shay will tell you how great you look the entire time, which is great for your self confidence but not for your wallet. I came out with a comfortable pair of strappy leather heels for $ 23.

For all you NYC ladies out there who are tired of dressing like Carrie from«Sex and the City» but don’t want to look like a 90’s Soccer Mom(Beacon’s Closet), Pony is the place for you. Every once in a while I pop in to peruse the racks and am always amazed at the taste and classiness of the shop. Second-hand designer clothes and vintage selections, handpicked by the owner(from what I understand), who washes and grooms every item(so they don’t reek for months of mothballs). Now, if you’re looking for that ironic AC/DC «Hell’s Bells» t-shirt, you’re not gonna find it at Pony. The selection is geared towards casual elegance: sundresses, skirts, blouses, etc., all the stuff that will keep you and your significant other happy. Now if I can only get my girl to shop here more often, instead of hitting up those Gap and Old Navy clearance sales… :(

OMG!!! I have found my new home! This store is Nirvana for all those women who LOVE affordable, CLEAN vintage clothing. The owner, Lynette Schwartz was SUPER helpful &SO attentive! I truly felt that she was one of my girlfriends. She was quite honest regarding how things looked on me irregardless of whether or not she made a sale. All in all, RUN don’t walk to Pony & get your shop on!!!

I rarely shop thrift stores because I don’t enjoy the smell and digging overstocked racks. I want pretty things that feel fresh and are made by brands I love, no matter if worn previously. I’ve gone to Pony a number of times and always found something to uplift my wardrobe without the price tag guilt. The racks aren’t crammed, and the stuff feels cared for. The staff is super friendly, and help if you ask but will also let you browse on your own without hovering.(me!) I bought some things bigger than my normal size here to wear when pregnant that didn’t feel like a waste of money since I plan to slim back down. It’s tasteful and simple, which fits my weekend mood and new mom budget.

Second hand clothing for only have the price of the original tag price. Save your money and either go buy full price or stalk the clothing for a good sale otherwise not worth your time.

From the same owner of Two Lovers just a several blocks down, Pony is yet another women’s secondhand clothing store on Fifth Avenue. The biggest thing that differentiates this store from all the other ones on the Fifth Avenue strip is that Pony looks like a boutique from the outside. Even when I walked in, I still thought it was a boutique full of high quality new clothing, as every item was clean and very gently worn. My biggest issue here was that nothing fit me. Everything I picked out and tried on were way too big on me, even if it was labeled as a small, which usually fits me fine.
