We had lunch boxes catered from this place for our picnic. I had a beef brisket sandwich. The beef had more fat than flesh. It was too tough to chew and tasted bland. The pasta salad had no flavor and not seasoned at all. The quinoa salad had a weird taste. Only thing that was okay was cookies and fruit salad. I’m sorry to say bad things, but I wish they taste what they make and do better job.

Went to a party(50+) catered by Relish, and was really impressed on just about every level. Parties in homes are tricky things — would I have ordered the same foods? What was the budget? So I just like to go by what a caterer presents. In this case, there were two cheese plates that floored me, both in presentation and variety — you can’t go too crazy with house parties, as crowds aren’t too adventurous with cheeses. But Relish pushed the envelope beautifully, especially with their goat cheeses(and particularly a red pepper goat cheese that rocked!) Fruit plates were generous, fresh and gorgeous; crudite as well, though it was a challenge dealing with the dips(I’m not a «one-dip, one bite» gal, and would have liked the option of drizzling my veggies with some of their dressings, particularly an aoli that was very beautiful; sadly there were no ladles or workable plate/bowls to set up my own dipping arrangement — there were small flat plates for the crudite — a challenge — and I think maybe at one point someone brought spoons dor some of the dressings, but if you’re going to make a cheese and dip station that epic, deeper recessed plates and even small forks should be available. This was, for all intents and purposes the salad option and perhaps the choice of the party thrower, but darn it, I really wanted to tuck in, and was hamstrung.) Our host chose an evening of pass-arounds, all of which were beautifully prepared and plated. Particularly tasty were gravlox with a heavenly dill sauce; very comforting Boursin in Phyllo with equally gorgeous sauce(these guys REALLY know their dressings!) and very tasty ahi tuna tastings, served up in Miso spoons. The sliders were a little overdone to my taste(but you can’t please everyone with sliders, especially at a large party — AND the menfolk LOVED them) and I didn’t think sweet potato biscuits were a perfect match for the jerk chicken sliders, but that’s me really being fussy. The spring rolls were perfect, as was(again) that sauce. The staff were attentive; engaging and really very sweet, from the cook to the servers to the HUGELY attentive bartender. They didn’t stop moving for a moment, any of them — bravo for their stamina and good spirits. I’ve looked at their menu and would love to try an easy dozen of their offerings; I commend and recommend them highly — great job, Relish!
