Rita Coif & Colour

I just went in for a consultation with Randa, but I ended up with walking out out 3 hours later with a completely new hairstyle. Randa was a total wizard with bayalage and knew just what to do to revamp my cut. She listened to what I wanted and was happy to do just that, but she offered her opinion and it was what I wanted, but a sleeker style and better sense of color. I trusted her instantly and I’m so glad I did. I could not be happier with the result. She was beyond gracious and on point!

I went to Rita’s for the first time two weeks ago and I’ve been meaning to write a review on how great the experience was! I was TERRIFIED. I am super low maintenance when it comes to my hair. It’s long, straight, and brown. I normally get it cut 2 or 3 times a year. I haven’t done much more than trim it for years. BUT I had decided I wanted to switch things up, try some color and get a fresh cut after a long long wedding season. I saw their positive reviews on Unilocal and decided to give it a go and get some subtle high lights.
I called on a Thursday afternoon and had an appointment for 5pm the following day with no problems. The staff was incredibly friendly when I arrived and the salon was open, light, clean and nicely decorated. To my surprise, Rita herself was going to do my hair today and she could not have been nicer! I think perhaps she saw the fear in my eyes and really listened to everything I had to say. You can tell that the staff all seem to get along very well and have a mutual level of respect for each other. There was a very positive, upbeat vibe in the salon.
Rita has years of experience with color and every single person that was in the salon that day was having some kind of color work done, which to me, was a good sign.
When all was said and done, my hair was great. She didn’t cut too much and she used just the right tone on tone colors to give me some subtle highlights and ease me into the world of hair color. I left with a big smile on my face and look forward to going back again soon!

OMG! I couldn’t stand what this humidity was doing to my hair anymore, but I was really scared to have a keratin treatment as I have very fine hair. My fear was that it would either be stick straight or worse yet, fall out! I went to see Rita and told her I was petrified, but couldn’t stand the frizz. She assured me that she had a product that she has been working regularly with for people with fine hair… it’s a formaldehyde free keratin treatment. Well, I bit the bullet because I trust Rita and the results are incredible. I’m used to a lot of product and a flat iron to try and calm the frizz and today all I did was wash, dry and go and it looks amazing! And, it’s shinier and took half the time to dry!!! Why didn’t I ask Rita about this years ago??? I love my new hair. By the way, the treatment also enhanced my highlights (by Rita of course!).

RIta Coif and Colour is a wonderful salon on the UES! From the moment you walk in you are treated with care. It is a very warm environment with a very talented and experienced safe. I have known the staff of Rita’s for over 10 years. They are all amazing colorists and stylists. Rita the owner has been doing my color for the past 10 years. She is amazing and always makes my color perfect!
I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

The Best colorist in town just opened her own boutique salon with her well trained and established team!
it has been a pleasure to come in and be welcomed like no other place and, more important, go out and have people complimenting me for my hairs.

I moved over to Rita as my favorite hairdresser Rodney works here now. Such a beautiful new salon. Everything is new and it’s not cramped like most NYC salons. Rodney is amazing he always does a wonderful job on my hair. He is very friendly and gives you the look you want. I highly recommend trying out the new place!

I live nearby the salon and it just opened. I have been looking for a stylist that can preform a great haurcut. U have always felt like no one really focuses on male haircuts… till I meet Rodney. Was here a couple weeks ago to visit and had to stop in for a quick touch up for a wedding. Stumbled upon this little gem. Rita did an amazing job! Got a color touch up and a blow out. My hair looked fabulous, got a lot of compliments, Rita is such sweet woman. It was nice chatting with her. Wish she was here in San Diego!
