Great selection of Vinyls, most importantly Gears, and that too at a better price than you can find anywhere else. price match-​and even better price. great after sale service, knowledgeable and patient staff and prompt response of email as well. 5 stars.

As a female DJ, stores like this can often be un-​friendly or sexist, but not this place. I found the older gentleman who seems to specialize in DJ mixers EXTREMELY helpful and respectful. He answered all my questions and even showed me how to use a few things I never had – all in a way that made me feel like he wanted me to use the equipment to its maximum potential and never in a way that was condescending. You could never get this kind of care or knowledge from a chain store like Best Buy.
Will definitely be shopping here again.

I have walked by this store since it opened and never gave it the time of day when it came to the vinyl collection. When passing by it looks like the type of location, in midtown, where the average person would walk in to purchase a replacement set of ear buds for there phone.
Boy was I wrong!
If you are hunting for vinyl take the time to hit the back of the store and dive deep into the vast collection that Rock & Soul has. Was plenty surprised by the depth of each musical genre they sell and was able to find some records that I had been searching for (albums I couldn’t find in Brooklyn or the Village).
The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about what exactly they had in stock. The prices are on par with the going rate of any vinyl in any record store.
In terms of location you can easily overlook this location, as I did, but trust me it is well worth the visit if you are looking to dig in some crates.

Love the new location! Same great people and music! Rock and Soul is my go to store for equipment and vinyl. And the last place (it seems) to go record shopping in midtown. They know there stuff and I never buy audio equipment without seeing Sharon first!

They had what I needed and at fair prices, but be very wary of their return policy. I had bought an extra cable, never took it out of the packaging, went to return it, and the best they could do was a store credit. They apparently do not do returns.

Good selection but a bit pricey! Of course you’re in NYC with NYC prices. Very helpful and knowleadgable staff.

Great selection and super helpful staff. I always find what I need. Great gear for people doing audio recordings for radio and other news gathering.

One Of the Last «Mom and Pop» Style and family operated Record shops in NYC. Still has a Great Vinyl inventory. but Keeps up with the times with all the latest digital dj gear, software, and accesories … Best prices, Great customer service and they treat the regulars like real Fam. Ask about The Repair department and Dj Classes.
