I’ve been waiting for my food 1 hour… Ok. We did wait for more than an hour. It was weekend brunch and we had friends & drinks(eventually) so we survived the wait. The truth is, the place wasn’t even busy but there was one waitress(she was truly a rockstar doing everything –mixing drinks too!-) and still smiling and courteous. We made a theory there was only one cook or maybe the place has very few plates that needed to be washed in order for us to get food served. It was ridiculous and at some point very funny. The tables around us were all dirty since there was just so much for that woman to handle. Our food was good. That’s it. Nothing extraordinary. Salmon was probably the best choice in the table. There was a burger, some chicken and a couple of salads. Not worth an hour of your time honestly. But we had a good time in a nice atmosphere(except for the piled dishes all around us) and a decent brunch. At the end we stacked the dishes and cleaned the table because we just felt the waitress could use an extra pair of hands. Don’t go in there if you are short on time. Or maybe go inside and scout how many employees are around. If there are 2 or more maybe you can get a drink in less than 30 minutes

Very cool vibe with retro look. Fun cocktails. Cool bartender made me a special nonalcoholic cocktail! 5 stars in my book!

Schapiro’s is a nice bar/restaurant with nice décor. The staff is super friendly. Unfortunately they were understaffed. We had to wait too long until they gave us the menu and until someone took our order. The food was ok but not exceptional

We went for an early dinner. The place was empty. We ordered drinks and then our meals. We waited 50 minutes and 3 meals came out(they were ok) but 1 meal never arrived!!! My husband left and got a falafel sandwich across the street which he said was excellent. No excuse. Terrible experience.

The service we received today was nice /nasty ! We were told we were difficult after asking for our eggs to be cooked a particular way and requesting salt, pepper and a clean glass for water. Our waiter not only hinted at the fact that the restaurant isn’t a bodega(yes you read that right!) and we couldn’t alter what’s I the menu but also Cadillac mentioned that the«Mexicans» in the back don’t speak English well and got our order wrong. Needless to I was a bit taken back by our waiters speech and so was the bf, especially after being told he couldn’t order a side of turkey sausage ! Besides all this ridiculousness, my rate for the place is two stars because my drink was good, the food wasn’t horrible but definitely not my favorite.

This place is not worth visiting — you can only get a table when you order food. When you just want to have a drink, you have to sit down at the bar. They just only offer seats at the bar, even though almost every table was empty. I wish I could rate 0 stars.

This is the worst food I have had in many, many years. When I arrived on a Friday night the ginger ale I ordered tasted like flat seltzer water. Little did I know that was a harbinger of things to come. On a Friday night they were out of chicken Matzo ball soup so I looked again at the menu. I decided to order macaroni and cheese, cauliflower gratin and buffalo chicken wings. The macaroni and cheese tasted like macaroni with melted Velveeta. The cauliflower was way overcooked and water logged and the Buffalo chicken wings were the worst. They only served the bony part of the chicken wing, no drumsticks. They were obviously cooked earlier, hopefully the same day, and heated up because some of them were cold and cold in the center yet cooked all the way through. I asked for a doggy bag to take this food home. When I got home I see they put all the food in one container so it was a big mess by the time I got home. Fortunately my pet does not care.

Drinks are good. Servers are nice. I came here 2 years ago and was so excited to come back because the food was so good. Bone marrow is on their online menu(and a reason I returned) but it’s not on the menu in the restaurant. We ordered chopped liver and it came with 1 slice of white toast cut in strips. Lastly, we ordered wings which you can tell were frozen and used jarred BBQ sauce. We had asked for them well done and got anything but. Additionally the blue cheese sauce was really watered down and we didn’t get any wipes to clean our hands. All that being said, we finished our food, but was disappointed in the degradation of quality after our first visit. Side note: bathrooms had watered down soap, only the cold water worked(it’s freezing outside) Seems like this place is under new ownership and struggling to pay the bills.

Pretty chill and rustic lookin’ spot! I had the festival mexicana which was just like the huevos rancheros. Nothin’ special to ‘em(I really need to find the best huevos rancheros in NYC… so far I found the one in Chicago! :P). The chicken schnitzel was pretty good, however! I also liked their drinks, including the rivington punch and as always, my pimms cup. Yay for drunk brunch!

Loved my brunch cocktails. The chicken schnitzel i had was okay, I think they should throw some gravy on it and call it a chicken fried steak. Everything’s better with sausage gravy on it. The service here is pretty good and they are nice and efficient.

Came here since friends wanted alcohol with their brunch. The place certainly has a rustic charm to it. There was a large amount of seating. I don’t think you’ll ever have a problem getting a seat here for brunch at least on a saturday. The place is a little drafty and cold so prepare yourself. Hopefully as it gets colder they have actual heating since I’m not sure there was any today due to the 40+ degree weather. The food was okay. Ive definitely had better but it wasn’t the worst. I got the eggs florentine. I loved the consistency of the egg. Personally not a fan of super runny eggs and the eggs were just a little runny but more on the cooked side. I didn’t really like the salad that it came with since the dressing was on the more acidic side. My friends thought their meals were also okay. Ive had plenty of brunch in the city and this one didn’t leave a lasting memory. The staff was nice enough although slow at servicing. i understand since it was only two people working but considering there were only three tables including ours it could have been a little quicker.

We had a terrible experience here — service was ridiculously slow(30+ minutes to get a drink) and then I caught the waitress talking shit about our table. I wrote down the receipt total because I had a feeling she might do something. and sure enough, just checked my credit card bill and she gave herself extra tip on my payment. I will be calling management in the morning, hopefully they can fix this.

Really good shrimp and grits for brunch. Shrimp were grilled perfectly and the grits flavored nicely with herbs and also not too thick. It’s a pretty decent portion size too. I also tried the cauliflower gratin which wasn’t bad, although a bit oily. Sunday brunch was very busy around noon with just one server. Note for families with young kids: they only have one high chair.

I came to this restaurant on a Friday evening. It’s a cute place. I ordered a salad with chicken, which was good. My friends both had the burger and they really liked it. They have a nice menu. We ordered rose sangria, which we really liked. Most places don’t have rose sangria, so that was pretty cool. The service was good. I would definitely return.

Beautiful establishment off rivington. I’ve always walked by, but never really paid attention to it. It’s such a great bar with an awesome alcohol selection. They only had a four or five beers on tap, but I really enjoyed their selection. They had $ 1 oysters all night and a $ 10 burger and beer deal that I will definitely have to go back for. The woman at the bar was very friendly and attentive in asking if we wanted another round. My only qualm was that they were cash only the night I went. I wish they would have put up signs indicating that as we walked on or would have at least warned us before we ordered.

I came here last night for happy hour and then again for night cap later. Their happy hour ends at 7. Even though we entered the restaurant at 6:55 and weren’t seated until after 7 pm, the bar tender was kind enough to charge us the happy hour price. The atmosphere is dimly lit with rustic décor and the music not too loud. We ordered the dozen oysters for $ 1 each, which I thought was a steal. Their wine and beer are half off during happy hour. I stuck to a glass of Malbec which did not disappoint me. Even though their Menu looked pretty good, we were in a mood for a different cuisine last night. So decided to venture out to some other place for dinner and come back again for night cap. For the night cap, I ordered the invisible man. I love bourbon based drinks and the smokiness it has to offer, but this one was a little strong for my taste. So I switched it half way through with my friend who was drinking the delicious schapiro’s Pimm’s Cup. That was one fun night. I would love to visit again for brunch one of these days.

Came to schapiro on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for brunch. Located in the trendy LES this place is truly great. The restaurant itself is filled with natural light pouring down from the ceiling, and the atmosphere is very simple and laid back. Great for groups or just a causal brunch date. The food was delicious, highly recommend the French toast option. Also if you are not a big eater you can definitely share a plate. This may become my new favorite brunch spot.

I came here for dinner last night, table of 8. Sine we were such a big group we were able to order a lot. Unfortunately, we were seated by the door so with all the opening and closing, it let all the cold fall air inside! They should not seat people at that table! The place is very cool looking otherwise, with a woody, dark feel. The drinks were fantastic. My favorite was the Rainy Day Sunshine made with Pisco, but a lot of them were hits at our table including the tequila based one that looked like an actual snow cone. We went to town on appetizers and I think they were better than entrees. The calamari was delicious, as was the warm artichoke salad. I didn’t try it but rumor had it that the chopped liver was amazing. We also had the matzah ball soup(nothing to write home about), the scallops and crabcake. For my entrée I had the meatloaf. It was beautifully presented(see photo) and was good, but not great. It was a bit dry. Also on our table was the steak, the Branzino(recommended by the bartender), the lamb chops and the shrimp. Everything was good, but nothing blew my mind. The side of mac and cheese was DELISH. The cauliflower gratin was yummy too. See, I told you we ordered almost everything! The waitress impressed me by not writing a single thing down and getting nothing wrong! However, we didn’t get our water refilled once and didn’t get amazing service otherwise. Maybe I’ll try it again for brunch, but no need to come back for dinner again.
