This is a great neighborhood jewelry shop. They are open after 6pm which makes it very convenient to stop in after work. All the people in the shop are nice and helpful. I had an antique watch mechanism which had stopped working. A watch repair shop in midtown quoted me $ 180 to fix the watch. Seaport Jewelry quoted me under $ 100. I brought in a second antique watch to shorten the bracelet and turn the removed links into earrings. They did an excellent job on both work orders at a fair price. The only thing is both jobs took 2 – 3 weeks to complete. I wasn’t in a hurry, so I didn’t mind the wait.

Stopped in to see about selling some gold. Didn’t love their offer, so I’ll try somewhere else, but they were informative and seem to run an honest business. The gentleman I worked with looked a lot like Bradley Cooper – might not be important to anyone else, but if you need to get something fixed and can’t decide on a shop… well, there’s that.

I am compelled to write this review of Seaport Jewelers purely because the attention and overall customer service is superior on every level. Nino, the proud owner, is a dying breed of merchant. Every time I have been in the store it is evident to me that he cherishes the relationships he forges with both customers and those who pass through«just to look». Everyone is treated with respect, patience and obvious expertise in all things jewelry, included the intricacies of watches, my personal obsession. Matthew is a no nonsense service rep who wastes no time to serve customers and always with a big smile. hese guys want a deal that works for both parties. They take a long-term view and are not out for a quick dollar. They are incredibly accommodating and provide everything from lay-away to special orders. If you are seriously in the market for jewelry of any kind, do yourself a favor and stop by Seaport Jewelers BEFORE you make your final decision. You will be glad you did!

Excellent customer service. Had a minor earring repair I needed done quickly before traveling. Dropped off earrings late on Sunday hoping for Monday pickup. Was told Monday that since they did not have the part and would complete the work by Tuesday, they would hand-deliver to my apartment Tuesday, and the repair was free. They did just that! Excellent repair work on the earring. Definitely my new place for jewelry repair.

I just had a very good customer service experience at Seaport Jewelers and needed to gush about it here on Unilocal!I was told they recently opened, though there might be some confusion in light of another reviewer mentioning they were about to close(back in July 2012). Perhaps management changed hands? All I know is that as of now, October 2013, they have rolled out a «soft opening» with some great deals on select pieces of jewelry at 40% off. I scored a very pretty butterfly ring(rhodium-plated, sterling silver ring with cubic zirconia). It’s a fun piece that I will add to my collection of costume jewelry no doubt. I initially had no intention of buying anything as I came into the store with the sole purpose of getting my watch batteries changed, but as they were working on it, I saw a 40% off sale tag in one of the display cases and decided I’d try the ring on, just because. The ‘just because’ eventually evolved into a purchasing decision. Andrew, one of the store managers, struck a great deal with me, which I hadn’t even bargained for as he was the one who proposed the idea to me. I was hesitant at first to get the ring for two reasons, 1) it was too big for my finger, and 2) I have a ton of costume jewelry and didn’t want to add another piece to the excess pile at home. Additionally, though the price was 40% off, I still didn’t feel it was an incentive to splurge. But once he sweetened the deal, I walked out of the store with my watch batteries replaced, a new ring, and a ring guard(as a resolution to the loose-fit), all for less than 50 bucks. Here’s the thing, the guys at the store are really personable and friendly without being one bit patronizing. They have three stores throughout the city, so they are apparently experienced jewelers, and they assured me that anything having to do with jewelry, they can do it, get it, make it happen(from wedding bands, to luxury watches). They even told me to come in anytime I needed a piece of jewelry cleaned and that they’d do it free of charge. This experience was a definite highlight for me, and I’m glad that Seaport Jewelry is now an option for me. And with my butterfly ring, I am hoping I can look(or at least feel) as glam as MC: !

They were able to fix my nearly impossible to fix tiger bangle watch! The spring in the hinge had come undone and no one was able to fix it and properly place it back in the correct positioning. They searched long and hard for me and were able to find a guy that was able to do the job! Most places wouldn’t have cared. At most they would charge me to take a look at it knowing they can’t do anything for it. They really care about their customers and will do what they can. I also had several batteries for my watches replaced. Super cheap! Sadly, Jon is retiring so the store is CLOSING! =o( JULY30th is the last day so if you have anything laying around that you’ve pushed aside, get it done NOW! I kept pushing aside getting a chain for my cross pendant but once I saw they were selling everything at 40% — 70% off, I was in there like a fat kid eating cake! For a 14k 18inch yellow gold chain I got a great price. but I won’t say. It was definitely a steal! So upsetting that such a great mom & pop store like this has to close! Enjoy your retirement, Jon! My coworkers and I will greatly miss your services!

I wouldn’t call it laziness, but when a watch battery dies, I’ll typically abandon it into my dead battery«watch pile». My Movado battery recently died and I felt guilty about not wearing it for 2 – 3 months. I made a foolish mistake years ago and took my watch to a Movado authorized store for a battery(never again). I told a co-worker who had the same problem and he referred. The owner was very nice, replaced the battery in no time, and only charged $ 10. My dead battery«watch pile» will be no more…
