WARNING!!! A friend of mine is Thai and his friend used to work there and he told him that they reuse the salad that comes with lunch special. So don’t go there people if you don’t want to get sick.

This place is definitely a «Meh, I’ve experience better.» It’s not a bad place, but there are better in the city. However for being so close to Times Sq, it’s decent. Service was ok & fast. Wouldn’t go there for special occasions, but might if in rush for food before going to catch a bus on Port Authority.

I used to swing by here for a quick bite because to start with — they were fast and since the lunch was pretty cheap it fit the bill for a quick lunch during the work week or just to meet someone. They have always prepared the food at best, were always friendly and fast — but then again maybe it was because I was always there in the first place.

It was a decent place. It was really quiet which was good for the two of us who had a great conversation but I always get concerned over places that are EMPTY. Portions were small but tasty so I couldn’t complain too much. With the row of Thai places on 10th Avenue I’d have to say I probably won’t come back here but for our last minute decision, I was fine with it. Boring review? Boring place so that’s what it gets.

One of my friends frequents Siam Grill, which I do not understand at all. This random Thai restaurant is over-priced, dingy, and greasy. Even with its proximity to Port Authority, us New Jerseyians can find much better food in the area, like at Yum Yum Bangkok. This restaurant has no atmosphere, but I will say they have friendly service. The Chicken Pad Woon Sen(glass noodles with vegetables) and the Chicken Pad Puk(vegetables in a brown sauce) were greasy and bland. This food tasted more like Chinese than Thai. Bottom line: You can get much better, cheaper Thai food in the area.

The latest stop on my exploration of the 9th Ave Thai food scene. I can’t remember exactly the name of the dish I had, but it was Red Curry with chicken and vegetables. Everything was fresh, tasty and perfectly spiced. My main complaints are the small portion of rice I got and the small amount of basil leaves(I think there were only two) in my entrée. Also, my Thai Iced Tea wasn’t up to par with what I was used to getting back in Boston, but what else is new. Overall it was decent but not in any way memorable and I probably won’t be back for that reason. My search for the perfect Thai place goes on.

In my continuing conquest of Bangkok Boulevard, I had the DISpleasure of trying Siam Grill, when I was allured by their proximity to Port Authority and the Lincoln Tunnel and a massive craving for Thai food. While I waited for the airport bus, I couldn’t help but come in here and speed eat with a couple of dining companions. We learned about 1 hour later to never speed eat spicy Thai food before boarding a bus for 30 minutes and then hauling heavy luggage to the airport. Thank goodness for airport bathrooms. I gave them another chance and ordered delivery via Seamless Web. The food came quick and the delivery man was super nice. Pricewise, the place is decent, I could only wish I could say the same about the food. Without going into too much detail, the food is nothing impressive and not totally satisfying. I would dare to say the overall majority of Thai joints along 9th prepare food better than this place and I would have to give it a big thumbs down.

I was pleasantly surprised by Siam Grill. It is a weird area being next to the overpass for Lincoln Tunnel, but it’s yummy & inexpensive. The fish dishes can be a tad pricey but they aren’t cheap fish. It is easy to eat either healthy or unhealthy here — which is always a nice option. Our wait staff was very nice and helpful. Pumpkin Custard is awesome. If they have it — EATIT!
