I’ve eaten here a few times after attending events at the City Center. Definitely over priced but that is the Theater District for you. There are $ 6 omelets within an 8 block radius. Great spot for late night dining. If you want to catch a few familiar faces from a show you’ve just attended don’t be surprised to see a few of them in there shortly after you’ve arrived. I like that they haven’t changed the décor. I personally want to be reminded of old New York when ladies still wore gloves and dresses and men wore ties to take their ladies out for the evening… even to a baseball game. Now I don’t think that’s necessary these days but seeing little old ladies chowing down on their ham sandwiches seated near a bunch of guys out for a great night of dancing and drinking just feels like home to me. You can get breakfast anytime day or night and after rocking out to your favorite star why not?

A truly authentic New York City diner. Fast, rude service, with incredibly greasy but good food. You’re in and you’re out and if you’re a tourist, well, it’s quite the show for a first timer. **It is diner food so don’t expect anything fabulous.

Trust me, you will never be SO desperate for food in this neck of the woods that you will NEED to eat at Star Diner, which is pretty much the only reason you would ever eat there. Typical diner décor and atmosphere but with ridiculously overpriced items. $ 17 for a burger deluxe platter? Are you kidding me? I mean, I know it’s the theater district and all… but if you want to be spending that much for an entrée, might as well go to a real restaurant in the area. If you must eat at a diner, head over a few avenues to 9th and check out the Westway or Galaxy Café($ 7 for a burger deluxe platter there!!). Places like this give New York eateries a bad name. No wonder tourists are always complaining«how expensive everything in New York is!» Don’t eat here and then go back home and tell all your friends that you spent $ 17 for a mediocre burger in New York City.(What the hell are you doing eating at a diner in the world’s greatest culinary playground anyway??) Eat somewhere else dammit. I mean it.
