First I must say, I LOVE Dr. Stephanie Lam. So why the 1 star? The OFFICESTAFFISHORRIBLE!!! Just making an appointment is annoying enough. The staff who answers the phones sound like they are half dead. Expect to be placed on hold a hand full of times only to get an appointment two months out. I’ve come to expect that from most doctors but man is the process alone painful enough. 3 or 4 different workers will answer your line and then quickly place you back on hold. Then you should expect to get a call a day or two before your appointment to inform you that your appointment slot is no long available(umm so what’s the point of making an appointment two months in advance?!?) and that they have an open spot 2 weeks out. Yay. So you finally get to the doc office, you fill out a bunch of typical doctor office paperwork and you update/confirm your insurance info on TWO separate documents, they also make a copy of your insurance card. You see the doc. She’s really nice and easy to talk to, I’ve been going to her for years and love her. But you kinda have to jump thru hoops of fire to be seen by her. The actual appointment is quick and easy compared to what happens afterwards. So you survive the GYN appointment, you call a week later to request a copy of the blood work and guess what? They inform you that you have to write them a letter requesting YOUROWNRECORDS, a phone call isn’t good enough, so I asked why didn’t they just include a standard form in the pile of forms they make you sign anyway? So yes, more work for you. 2 – 3 weeks later you finally get the medical records you requested. And guess what? There’s more, for the next 6 months you get to receive endless bills for the appointment cause the lovely staff didn’t know you have insurance and billed you for the visit. And they also spelled your name wrong so you’re getting TWO bills every couple of weeks. Expect to spend countless hours TRYING to talk to the office«manager» Beji who will kindly remind you, «I’m doing you this favor, it’s not my job», so who’s job is it you ask? Apparently the Office Manager thinks it’s not hers. She then tells me they DID bill my insurance and that XYZ Insurance declined the claim, ummmm I haven’t had XYZ Insurance for years! I’ve provided my new insurance at the time of visit(remember the 2 forms and the copy of my insurance card?) well they can’t find it. So I provide the insurance info AGAIN and months later I’m still getting bills cause the office is still billing XYZ Insurance. Beyond frustrating!!!
