Worst venue I have ever been at. Would not recommend ever going here. Horrible experience. The entire place is awful.

Smaller venue but good crowd on February 19th for an after work Soca party. Drinks at the bar were weak(I had a margarita and a ha jack ginger). However the DJ was great and I enjoyed the welcoming crowd!

Came to this place Friday December 18. The only reason why I gave it two stars is because I like the dj here played a variety of and my fellow Transit colleagues came here to celebrate our holiday party we had well over 30 people. For starters the drinks taste like you are drinking juice. The bartenders are extremely slow and they over charged my card by $ 50 where the hell they do that at. All I ordered was 4 vodka and cranberry and a blue the fuck I have charges for $ drink was $ 5 a piece on the happy hour and blue moon was $ 8.smfh Then to make matters worse two more of my Co workers were over charged around the same amount. Never again, when I brought it to the bartender attention he supposedly has took off the $ 50 but my bank statement says otherwise I am going to fight them tooth and nail how down they rip people off like this shame on them. The person who manages this place needs to be held accountable for their be continued let’s see if my issue gets attended to.

Came here this past Friday after work and it was ok, really I had fun because I wasn’t buying no drinks at all lol, I know the promoter and got all my drinks comped. It was a bit crowded till about 10pm then it was empty. I don’t understand why there are only two bartenders though? I did have to wait for my drinks a while, but she did make them strong so can’t complain too much.

I attended Studio XXI on 12⁄5 for a Lesbian party and let me start by saying the bartender(African American male named Philip, masculine, approximately 6’1″) was beyond rude and billed dirty. The first round we were charged $ 4 for a water, and the third round we were charged $ 6 for a water. When I discussed the difference in billing I was told that the first round I was given the water for free, however my receipt showed differently. He was inappropriate with his actions, failed to retrieve a manager and absolutely RUDE. I strongly suggest not coming here on Saturday nights OR not coming here at all. I attempted to take his photo but he blocked me. No sweat – I’ll get it so you all are aware who NOT to deal with. Def not coming here again! A complete joke and definitely overpriced!

Came here for an after work event which was fun! But the fact that I was charged 20% gratuity for my drinks is ridiculous. Of course I didn’t notice this and added in a tip on top of that! Thanks a lot Deena! A heads up would’ve been nice

This place was cool, easy to get to plenty of parking(garages) in the area. They have a mandatory coat check(she tried to get me to check my blazer — NOT) The pictures online look great but the place is smaller in person. Issue we had was they try to sit you to close they expected our group who was on bottle number 3 to sit in a tight are so they can place those who only maybe purchased one bottle next to us instead of letting us spread out a little. Other than that the place is lax, they don’t mind if you stand on couches and act a fool ! I didn’t pay a cover was on a guest list. Security was very nice. There are steps to walk up to get in and the bathroom is small either that or the bathroom attendant and her spread took up more room than necessary.

This place is a disaster. I came here for NYE, and what a horrible experience. The crowd is VERY young(early twenties) and there was only two bartenders for the entire place. Thank god my friend knew a guy who decided to buy a bottle. The bottle service was a joke! They basically brought over the bottle, ice bucket, and mixers and bounced. I was trying to kick the little kids out of our section so that we could sit down but they wouldn’t budge. I called the waitress over and she was finally able to get these fools to get up. There is absolutely no incentive to get a bottle at this place. The service is not great and the crowd sucks. At least the DJ was good.

I’ve only been here for Vice Thursdays… The music is always good, a mix of soca reggae and usually a couple hip hop minutes. Everyone is literally coming from work so the crowd is cool BUT(at least this most recent time) there were alot more dudes. I mean the walk to the bathroom was full of random dudes arms reaching out n trying to pull you in… No thanks. Don’t dare get a well drink either you’ll be paying for expensive juice bc there’s no liquor in them, might as well pay for the shots.

The ABSOLUTE worst experience of my going out life. The only question is whether legal action for assault will follow. We got to this place around midnight expecting some Bhangra music– we get there and find the DJ and promoters have changed. No matter we were already there so after some haggling over cover 4 or 5 of us get in– the rest had gone to get a bite. The first sign of trouble was when the promoter refused to give our friends the same deal he gave us even though that was a stipulation for us agreeing to pay initially. Anyway he finally lets everyone in. Then the night really took a turn for the worse– one of our group fainted while at the bar– it may have been the hookah we were smoking(smooth but strong) or the ever present smell of weed but she was taking to a friend and suddenly found herself on the floor. We were all naturally concerned and gathered around and tried to revive her. At this point it is important to note that WEWERENOTDRUNK– their subsequent behavior had no justification but it seems important to clarify this. A bouncer materialized and starts pushing us out while she is still groggy and hasn’t come to. Up to this point everyone was pretty calm and saying we will absolutely leave as soon as everyone is ok and we collect our coats. But they start pushing us out and basically dragging my friend(conscious but a little unsteady) towards the door. I step to the coat check to get our coats and another bouncer tell me to leave. I tell him to *expletive* wait till I have my coat and suddenly he grabs me from behind, puts me in a choke hold(I’m gasping for breath) and drags me down the stairs and pushes me onto the sidewalk. It is important to note that not once did we 1. say we weren’t going to leave 2. Do anything threatening that would make us seem like ‘trouble’. The night ended with me filing a report with the cops across the street, which I intend to follow up on mid week. My throat was tender for a few days and a doctor’s visit is in the offing. I’m glad I got in my review before Unilocal updates the status of this place to ‘Studio XXI-CLOSED”.

I went to an after work party that they have at Studio 21 each & every Friday. We had a blast and the appetizers were great. We did some hookah which they charge $ 20 which is great for an after work. They also offered 3 for1 Drinks from 5:45 — 6:45pm and 2 for 1 Drinks until 8pm. Great place to go after work!!!

Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever been to. Please do yourself a huge favor and go somewhere else — it will be the best decision you’ve ever made, well, second best — the best was reading the reviews for this dump.

SORRY Wendy you must have been wearing heels. I came here for a bday celebration. I was wearing flats YESFLATS. As a female I have never heard of this rule. At first the bouncer was nice about it. I walked away and my friends called me back and got me a pair of heels. but here is the KICKER the bouncer that helped me before said«oh you have heels now, i have been in this business for a long time, so someone in the club must have brought them to you» I told the truth, but the girl upstairs had other shoes. With that he let me in but proceeded to tell the girls you pay to charge me 30DOLLARS. my things is why let me in then, YOUHADTHATPOWERMR. BOUNCER, that 30 is not going in your pocket. the birthday boy came down to help me get it down to 25, WOW5 dollars. CHECK: RUDEBOUNCERS 2) my turning point should have been there was NOLINETOGETIN…)the place is small and it wasn’t even half packed, I’m telling you not even half packed. On a Saturday night THATS A PROBLEM, when half the crowd is the people you came with. CHECKTHEWEBSITE the pictures with people are the same people in the pictures and there is only like 5 pictures OR premiers ??? which some aren’t even at studio 21. That’s a SIGN… I have been to this place before on a weekday on Gay night and there were waaaaaaay more people. CHECK: LIMITEDSPACEWITHLIMITEDPEOPLE(everyone was at Tahj, Slate or Crimson down the block) 3) and i will stop here before i really go on a rampage… By 3:30am there was only like 6 of us in the lounge and we were all together and then the staff and about 3 people who were staff friends. IF the birthday boy wasn’t drunk and the group next us didn’t give us their Grey Goose we would have been gone long time ago. CHECK: ALLYOUHAVETODOISKICK6PEOPLEOUT at 3:30am bad sign. GEEEEZ 4) GUYSPAY $$$$ 20REGARDLESSOFANYTHING Stopping now!!! HIGHLIGHTS: GOODDJ

Hassle-free of getting in, 1 star. Music was hip-hop plus top 40. Live DJ. So I do give credits to that as well. 2nd star. Doorman and bartender were easy-going, however, I’m sorry to say that the place was so tiny, and it felt kind of cheap… The night was 90% Asian +10% Spanish, extremely odd. Never ever had such experience… 2 birthday parties were going, oh well.

Came here b/c this place couldn’t possibly be so bad it gets a 2, worse. If it was possible to negative rate this place I would. First the doormen —(1) rude(2) smelly(3) ugly –hahah so true –all dudes in line, they should have paid us to come in. Wack, with a crowd of young babies. Pretty inside, but overpriced, over packed and OVERIT. Do yourself a favor and NEVER come here, worst 20 minutes of my night.

Big Star for the Décor and DJ Finesse Everything else was very disappointing. First of All, I Apologize to my friends who TRIED to come in and celebrate my birthday party. I know it’s really PATHETIC how the SERVICE here is RIDUCULOUSLYAWFUL! Ordering a Bottle Service(Which cost nearly $ 450.00 plus tax and tip) Still gives you a Shitty attitude. — Overpriced Drinks(Cranberry vodka for $ 14.00?) — They tried to Charge cover to my friends(Good thing I told them It was free if they mentioned MY Name at the door!) — Coat Check?(Don’t get me started here) Second of all. Capacity 200.(REALLY?) I felt like a SARDINE! Will NEVER come back again.(If you have a large party, don’t bother unless you come EXACTLY when they open which is 11PM.) Music Was Off the HOOK(Thanks DJ Finesse). BUT It was TOOFREAKINGLOUD and Couldn’t even start a conversation with a GUY! I was nearly Deaf and Lost my voice! For once, I Had the best Birthday Party with my friends, But Worse to have to deal with these people. I rather use that money and go somewhere else where service is deserved.

Pushed around and shoved. Not sure I’ve felt so tossed around in my life. The DJ had a good set of tracks, but his transitions were mostly poor. The music was way too long. The bartender didn’t know what a salty dog cocktail was. My diet and rum was weak. Not the most expensive cocktail ever, but it wasn’t worth the money. I felt very blah. And shaken in a blender.

So I came here for a friend of a friend’s movie release party, and I’m glad i did! First of all, I’d never been here prior to my appearance on Friday night, so I didn’t really know where it was. When I got the address of the place was when I realized: this is where Citrine used to be! Man I used to love that place, and it was always rocking up until they had a water-main break and it flooded, never to be reopened again. It is now open again as Studio XXI, and it’s much smaller. You still have to head up some stairs but now there’s a door. When you open it you end up in the original lobby area of Citrine, where there is a now a mandatory $ 4 coat check(who came up with the mandatory coat check, and better yet, who came up with a $ 4 coat check? smh). When you actually get inside the lounge you realize it’s much smaller than its predecessor Citrine, but a very noticeable amount, but it’s OK, because on this night you’re going to be in the VIP area in the back anyways, sitting at a table(or standing on it) and getting bottles the whole time. I must admit that $ 4 coat check is awful, and it is smaller than Citrine, but the décor is nice, and it’s hard to fight against free bottles right? It’s about a 2 – 3 star place, I will go with 4 stars because of how much fun I had.
