Just meh. Small seems to be the theme here. Small place, smaller portions. I did like that they brought out hot green tea instead of water — but at the end of the day, I had more tea than actual food. The rolls were tiny — usually there are 10 pieces. Here, there were only about 5. I’m not sure if it had anything to do with the fact that it was half off. Otherwise, the roll was ok. Either way, not really worth it.

This is my go-to Japanese restaurant when I’m ordering for delivery or pick up. I always keep coming back for their Chicken Teriyaki as they make the perfect sauce to go with the chicken. Love their shrimp tempura sushi too! Serving is quite generous and food is reasonably priced. One more thing, I’ll give their customer service an A. Whoever picks up their phone/handles online deliveries is an angel. Two thumbs up for Sushi Lounge!

Ordered white rice, fried pork gyoza and coconut shrimp over delivery. After ordering over the phone I was informed that it would take 45 for my order to arrive on campus. While it did take half that time(thank goodness) I was left disappointed. Eight small rolls(not the best, although a sufficient amount of coconut shavings to make up for it), amazing gyoza(if I were to order again, it would’ve for this) and no rice. I wasn’t charged, but when I called, having to wait 15 – 20 minutes for rice didn’t seem worth it. I live for rice(sad, I know). At least they were polite about it. 3/5, however, not just for a forgotten order, but also quality of sushi. Get the gyoza but opt for ayame for sushi.

Whenever my friends and I come here we always get at least 2 – 3 rolls per person. The half off all the time on sushi is great BUT there are not that many options for sushi. Just your typical classics and dragon eels. Lighting is a comforting ambiance not too bright but not too dimmed. The only downside is that the place only allows cash(rarely they let you pay card).

Got the Modern Okonomiyaki($ 10.95), Pork and Egg Okonomiyaki($ 8.95), and the yuzu miso cod($ 8.95). Modern Okonomiyaki was very dry but flavorful. Pork and Egg Okonomiyaki was burnt black on the bottom. I had to remove the charred bits on the bottom. The cod was extremely small. One piece of cod, a tempura lotus root piece, and an undercooked broccoli. If you want overpriced food for something that is not made right. Go here.

I was wondering why I couldn’t find this place on Unilocal and now I know why, «Sushi Lounge» is also known as «Natori». The only reason I realized it was because of the giant red flag that hangs in front of the door. I’ve never eaten inside, only in the alcove outside, but I prefer it that way. It’s a really comforting space. The sushi is fine, not bad or good, just average. I can only speak for the salmon though, I’ve never tried anything else. Thankfully the prices are low so it doesn’t feel like a waste of money. The service is alright, although I have found some of the servers a bit rude. All in all, another average sushi spot that could be easily replaced by dozens of other restaurant around the neighborhood.

Didn’t try the hot pot because it was too damn hot outside but I did try the sushi which is advertised as half off. Of course the prices are way inflated so the half off is just a permanent marketing ploy. Food was ok, I was a bit irritated that soda refills are not free. And mostly irritated when I got the check and there was a big cash only sign on the bill. Funny, there was no warning about this on the door or anywhere else in the restaurant. I had been out to exercise and only had my keys and credit card and complained. The waitress sheepishly said she can take credit(really?) and took my card. Didn’t realize it but the restaurant is split into two sections with two entrances which I didn’t notice and the other side was full of people eating hot pot. Maybe I’ll try it next time.

This makes me mad because I really want to make a thing out of only paying ½ price for sushi. The food is mediocre, but it’s cheap so you get what you pay for. It’s not bad or shady in quality so at least that’s cool. Ramen burger is not a good representation of the other one’s in town, it’s soggy and weird, so don’t get it. Ramen bowls are a bit greasy but not horrible. Sushi is fine. Could be a little colder to the touch, which would make me feel better about eating cheap, raw fish. The service is such crap here, which is coming from a guy who will wait too long for my meal and even eat the wrong order because I’m not one to get that annoyed. Here’s what happened… We were a table of 3, who ordered multiple appetizers, and entrees. The 4 appetizers came out at separate times. As in, 5 minutes apart. Then the entrees came out, 5 minutes apart. No one ate at the same time… At any point… It was just awkward, and the waitress decided english wasn’t her thing when we asked her if she forgot to put in an order. She kept saying«I don’t understand» and left quickly, and wouldn’t come back out until an entrée was ready.

Really like this place. People are saying it’s a hole in the wall as if that is a bad thing when it comes to a quality NYC sushi location. The fish is great and they do all those specials St. Marks is known for like 50% off, drink specials etc. I love how they have the 2 sides which only fit a few tables at each so there is a very intimate vibe.

Service here was good, but the food was only«OK». If you’re in a budget and want a ton of very cheap sushi, this is a great spot. If you want exceptional flavor, shell out somewhere else for it.

This is my best Hotpot Ramen ever and i really enjoyed. The price is reasonable too and will deffenately go back to eat again with my Family. The Tonjotsu broth is my best and when the waitress served the hotpot its flavour is mouthwatering. Fantastic dining hall feeling at Family atmosphire too.

Two words: Ramen. Burger. That was what the glossy front ad of this hole-in-the-wall establishment promised in all its succulent glory. It was pure happenstance that I found myself stopped in my tracks, ogling at what would later become the best spontaneous food run I’d ever had. Succulent, juicy meat, nestled between two crisp, lightly fried ramen noodle buns is intriguing in itself. The addition of Asian-inspired sweet and salty sauces, coupled with the burger mainstays of lettuce and onions, gave rise to a delectable combination of cultures I wouldn’t soon forget. My burger even came with the unprecedented addition of tortilla chips and an earthy hummus dip — a perfect complement. My one gripe would be that the portion size was a tad small for my liking. Nonetheless, I could see myself returning for these little slices of heaven in a heartbeat.

Sushi Lounge has 50% off all sushi menu as part of its Thank You Customers campaign. I am not sure if it’s temporary or an ongoing event, but it sure is a great deal. I got one of the sushi specials, which came with two nigiris each of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and eel, plus spicy tuna rolls. I don’t really like spicy rolls, so I changed it to fresh salmon rolls. The salmon was a bit disappointing — not super fresh and super thinly sliced. The tuna was mediocre, but I was a fan of yellowtail. The eel was quite fatty. The rice in the salmon rolls was way too sticky, and the piece of salmon was tiny. I guess you get what you paid for, but not really complaining since the meal was $ 16 with tips and taxes. I would never pay the full price though.

There’s something fishy going on, and I don’t like it one bit. Sushi Lounge is what was once known as Natori– same location, same menu, same waitress, probably same management. And then one day, we ordered our usual sashimi and sushi, when we realized that the portion size shrunk down by half and we were right!!! When they were going by the name ‘Natori’, they served two pieces of fresh sashimi, whether it be scallops, salmon, tuna, squid, etc. with each order. But one day, when they were still going by their original name ‘Natori’, they played me like a fool and gave me one slice of sashimi per order. Fine, the menu and prices changed, I’ll accept that. BUT do not train your waiter to insist that the restaurant NEVEREVEREVER served two pieces of sashimi per order. I asked him to bring the manager/owner and the he also denied the change. UNBELIEVABLE… The waiter may have gotten away with the absurd lie had Natori not have been a weekly staple for my boyfriend and me. We were taken aback at how inconspicuously and quickly the transition from Natori to Sushi Lounge had happened– essentially, it happened overnight. And I can’t help but think that it was for tax evasion purposes, since it was an all-Cash establishment. They once ran out of house wine and Hite beer, not because it was a full-house but because they weren’t expecting anyone to order wine and beer at 7PM on a Wednesday. ABSURD. The restaurant, to clear up any and all confusion, is separated into two sections because there’s a walk-up building that someone calls home right smack in between the two sections. So, if you walk into what you think is Sushi Lounge and they ask you to go next door, it’s because of the walk-up building. The interior and space is run-down and shabby. This restaurant is not equipped for nice sushi dates, but rather for a casual meal.

*TINY portions *food very bland *overpriced Stopped in with my little sister for her 18th birthday. My sister and I weigh a total of 235 lbs, both with small frames and build. In addition to our drinks and appetizers(a full spider roll and miso soups), we needed to order 3 entrees to be nearly full. Then we ended up going elsewhere to have dessert. Considering how tiny these plates were, it was very surprising how expensive the dishes were. If plates are tasty and/or high in quality, I am content with paying higher than the norm, but when the flavor and quantity both lack, I don’t expect to pay average prices, let alone higher than average prices which was the case. The only saving grace was the sake-tini which was interesting. Lastly, we were not informed it was cash only until paying the bill. The«cash only» sign turned out to be at the very back of the restaurant and we were sat outside in the front. My little sister ended up having to foot the bill… happy birthday sis!

More 3.5 stars than 3 stars for me. Came here with a friend as I was in the mood for some sushi and noticed this place before and wanted to try a different place besides Sushi Park. We didnt want everything that came with a normal Sashimi Platter, so we decided to order individual pieces(3 salmon and 1 tuna piece). Other items we ordered was the Dragon Roll, Titanic Roll, and California Roll. My friend and I enjoyed it. It wasnt anything spectacular but the good cheap prices and it did satisfy my craving. Staff was pleasant. My only gripe is that the restaurant only accepts CASH! Wish they stated that outside of the restaurant before I stepped in.

Worst sushi place I’ve ever been. Not just the sushi was mediocre. They served me a glass that was dirty. After I asked to change it, they wanted me to pay for the beer on it. Don’t go to this place.

Pretty good, will be added to the list of local sushi delivery spots. I never came here when it was on St Marks and Ave A despite living a few doors down. The Fancy Naruto roll(Shrimp tempura, eel, fish roe, avocado and sliced cucumber outside) was tasty. The seafood okonomiyaki was not bad, but next time I’d ask for the sauce on the side. It was oversauced. Gyoza was ok.

came here on a saturday night and this place was packed! with a bunch of very loud, drunk, and ridiculously young looking crowd. It wasn’t long before we were seated at the bar. we ordered some draft beer, edamame, vegetable gyozas, shumai and avocado and tomato salad. none of the food were great but were just ok. the place had a tacky green oil paint all over. Had flies all over the place. I question how clean it is… to have a bunch of flies in the winter time Also, everyone here looked ridiculously young, and no one got carded…
