Sushi Spot

My new favorite sushi place. They don’t have a full variety like you’d expect at most place but is only due to the fact that it is kosher. I would advise getting a menu and ordering way in advance. This place is so popular that wait time can be over an hour long. The food and service is great. Try the dragon and Godzilla rolls. Awesome.

Sushi spot is HANDS DOWN the BEST SUSHI IN THE NEW YORK. I have ate sushi at so many sushi places and I only order from the Sushi Spot.
PROS:
1) They are the only sushi spot that doesn’t charge for brown rice
2) Their sushi is very fresh. We have been ordering from them since they opened (about 3 years) and not one time did we have an unfresh sushi.
3) If you look up their restaurant inspection details, they have never received more than about 4 points in violation. This comes to show that they really do care about their business.
4) They are always true to their word and warn you how long it will be for pick up/​delivery instead of saying one thing and then it comes out the other.
5) Their lunch special is very affordable and they throw in a free drink.
CONS:
1) I have had employees mix up my order with white rice instead of brown and I’ve had orders where the rice was coming apart very easy (it’s suppose to stick) but It’s not enough reason to not like them.
2) When they are really busy, they will try to rush you off the phone. But it is understandable though.
I would really miss them if I moved far away and I would definitely come back to the area just to dine with them.

Since I started eating kosher sushi, I have been plagued with mediocre, at best, sushi. I know that this is not the way that it should be, as sushi has very simple components. This is the first kosher sushi spot that executes correctly. The rice has the right tart/​sweet combination and does not overwhelm the fish. The sauces are just right. When dining with a friend, I recommend getting a lunch special and a big roll (that was a tip from the guy manning the counter and a nice money saver – he turned out to be right.)

worse sushi I ever tasted. Funny enough I am still upset about it 1 month later. I order 4 different rolls and couldn’t eat a single 1. This has never happened to me in life, at least I can force myself to eat it so I don’t waste money, but I couldn’t even do that. The rice was over cooked, more like a mashed potato consistency. I’m really upset and confused about the so called ‘sushi” at this place.

This spot is cool if you have a craving for some sushi. I ordered the crab rolls which was on point and the spicy tuna which was good as well. I will definitely be going back. Also it is in a jewish area so calling a head to make sure that they are open is recommended.

This place is terrible. Their service is not great and they seem to be very poorly managed. I’ve ordered from them multiple times and it always took twice as long as they said. Their sushi is mediocre at best. One time I ordered for pick up thinking it would be better, they told me to come in 20 minutes. I show up and wait in like for 10 minutes to be told that they didn’t even make it yet. I spent another 15 minutes standing there waiting for me food. I’ve had it with them, never going back again.

I love this sushi restaurant best sushi i ever had at a very convenient price. I did an online order. I ordered the rosey roll, shrimp tempura roll, and California roll. Even though the delivery took 30 minutes, it was worth the wait. Imagine a fried sushi roll! Now thats amazing ! Kudos to the rosey roll!

My sister and I ordered the lunch special online and we got some pretty typical rolls like spicy tuna and tuna avocado roll. The reason I’m not giving 4 stars is because the online system is wonky and they never printed out my order until I called. That being said, they told me I would get my order in 15 min and they followed through even though the weather outside is horrible and it was peak lunch time. The rolls themselves are good, what you would expect from a typical sushi place. I will order again via the telephone and might try some other rolls.

Sushi Spot is hands-​down one of the best sushi options in the neighborhood. The rolls have always tasted fresh, they have tasty combinations and good prices too. Simple rolls are around $ 4-​$ 6 and their more complex rolls run from $ 8 – 11. Sushi Spot is a kosher-​run restaurant, but lacking a Japanese chef in the kitchen doesn’t seem to be hurting their product any, in fact they turn it into a strength with a slew of NYC/​Jewish-​centric named rolls (like the Alternate Side and Hava Nagila) and portions your Bubbe would approve of. The speciality rolls are all big, big, big, so keep in mind when ordering that you may be able to get just as full with a fewer number of rolls here than other places.
The biggest challenge with Sushi Spot is their hours, they run on the Orthodox Jewish clock, so they’re closed on Jewish holidays and you’ll have to figure out when the Sabbath starts and ends if you’re ordering on a Friday or Saturday. Zei mit mazel!

This sushi place is great. Delicious fresh Sushi, and fairly priced. They also have the quickest most-​reliable delivery service of all tho kosher places in Crown Heights. Sometimes the service is a bit inconsistent. I think it’s because everyone who works here is under twenty. Top Grades!

Surprisingly great sushi! I thought it was going to be a bunch of vegetable rolls and cooked fish rolls, but it wasn’t like that at all. Great variety, really fresh fish, and good prices. Their platters are crazy cheap!

Ok. First off. I live 2 blocks away therefore I am free to satisfy my sushi craving whenever I please. Sushi spot has great quality «kosher» sushi and great employees. I’ve seen sushi for a bit cheaper but with this convenient location, I am fine to spend a little more cents. #spicyyellowtail

I got the spicy tuna and king crab roll and both were fantastic.

I have never posted on before but felt I had to. I just ordered the crispy rice w/​spicy tuna appetizer, the OMG! roll, and yellowtail w/​jalapeño. The crispy rice and OMG roll looked like cat food. I had a few bites and had to throw the whole thing out. It was absolutely disgusting.
The yellowtail w/​japaleno was alright but I ended up just eating the rice and pushed the yellowtail (which looked off) out the middle.
I would never eat here again.

Took my wife here the other night. I was surprised to find a sushi joint in the middle of a Jewish neighborhood. Anyways to my wife enjoyed it very much. She said they only thing missing was the salad they usually give at authentic sushi spots. A thumbs up for the kosher sushi spot. If they would have prepared the salad my wife craved they definitely would’ve gotten 5 stars…

Sushi was amazing!!! delivery was prompt and the driver was so kind… I will bordering my lunch from there today since its snowing out! #Bonus

I LOVE Sushi, I am a Sushi Feen. Sushi Spot, is right in my neighborhood. The Sushi is prepared quickly and the sushi is tasty and prepared correctly. The location is kind of small but very clean and efficient. They make deliveries but I have not had the pleasure of ordering out from home. I have only taken to go or eaten in the restaurant. I highly recommend if you are craving Sushi and this is not too far from you or you are in the area.
