I would highly recommend this salon to everyone. I had a great experience in the salon. Everyone was super friendly and the place was very warm. I can in for some highlights and a haircut. A Russian women by the name of Irina did my hair. I was a little worried at first trying out a new place, and I am super picky with my hair. However I was very pleased with the outcome. Since the moment I stepped out of the salon I started receiving compliments on my hair. The women really knew what she was doing. The salon is very well priced as well. I recommend this salon to everyone and Irina was amazing!!!

Then there is this weird Gaetano dude with his endless reviews (I mean, who reviews the reservoir in Central Park? It is beautiful like everything else Olmstead did. Will Gaetano review the Chrysler building next, and discover, «Hey, check this out, it’s cool»? I feel Gaetano should write fewer reviews and Get a Life

Came here for my $ 8 eyebrow threading. Overall, great experience and she did a great job shaping my eyebrows.
However, I would say although the results were great, the process was painful. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for the last 6 years so I am very used to the process. However, she pulled the hair much more painful than many others I’ve experienced and I think part of the reason is (1) she’s the only place that doesn’t have me lift /​tighten the skin under my eyebrows to hit lighten the pain and (2) she threads and pulls the rows of hair fairly slow that I can almost feel each hair slowly plucked.
But either way, the pain was worth it I suppose. I was quite happy with the results and would come back.

My feelings about this busines:
The service is so bad.
They just want your money!
The whole treatment is quick, perfunctory and not satisfactory at all!
And in the end it is quite expensive, too.
In other words, if you are looking for a nice haircut, go somewhere else!!!

I walked in without an appointment because I desperately needed a haircut. I was immediately taken in by the friendly man, Robert, working at the time, maybe he was an owner, not entirely sure. He took me to a single chair with a small sink in the back corner and started washing my hair, totally normal except for that I have not been to such a small salon with just one sink. We then proceeded to the cutting station, where I began to experience some unease as it seemed as though Robert was about to start cutting without asking what I wanted, but I suppose he was just getting his bearings around my mess, because he quickly asked what I was looking for and my ease came back. In fact, the experience was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep at the chair. Everything turned out great, he was very nice and tried to converse with me the entire time, as did the nice lady sitting in the back (maybe Svetlana but again, not sure). I came out with exactly what I wanted and they gave me a nice price, $ 35 for a wash, cut, and blow-​dry. Now, if you are looking for a very big, open, salon with comfort and a spa-​like feel, I would not recommend this, but if you are simply looking for a very good haircut in a very relaxed environment, this is the place to go. I felt very welcome here and will definitely return for my next cut.

Like the others, I randomly walked into this mom & pops. I grew up in a beauty salon so I have a soft spot for businesses as such. Lana & Robert are so sweet and nice. I really hate to write this bad review. I thought about going back to have it fixed, but since it wasn’t fixed right the first time, I can’t imagine a better turnout.
So here goes… I got a terrible hair cut from Robert. I simply asked for layers, and lots of them. I had long hair with long smooth layers to the middle of my back. I said 3 inches can be removed. 8 inches were removed. The layers were choppy like Machu Piccu. Thankfully Lana took over and tried to save the du. But I still had a hard time sleeping and woke up with hair nightmares (no lie).
Now this is the reason for 2 stars, and I give it a 2 instead of a 1 because Lana does have talent. They tried to sell me a bogus hair cut saying it looks choppy because of the blow out technique. And after the second blow dry from the fix, Lana put oil in my hair so the ends would stick and voila, no more obvious choppy frays. $ 50 boo boo.
:Update: I got my hair fixed by a professional Senior Stylist Asian brother in Chinatown for $ 40. He shook his head when he saw my hair. His face was like what the fuh. He did an amazing job. Excellent techniques. And I LOVED that he took his time with my hair. He used great products. Found myself a keeper. Holler if you want this contact.

I randomly walked by this place about a year ago while I was on my way to Effy’s Café next door. I saw that they do threading so I walked in. They attended to me right away. She and Robert are sooo kind and soo lovely. Since then, this is the only place I go to get my eyebrows done. I’ve gotten so many complements and it’s only $ 8. LOVE!

Excellent for threading, good prices and nice.

I randomly walked in here, not knowing what to expect, but saw a sign for blowouts.
Robert blew out my hair and did a FANTASTIC job.
In fact:
1. I was at Sassoon salon the week before — MUCH higher end and double the price — and this looked FAR better.
2. A random woman saw me when I walked out and yelled, «BEAUTIFUL!»
She said she saw me go in, then go out, and my hair looked great.
I ended up giving her the business card Robert gave me so she could get a blowout too.
It was really cheap too… only $ 35! And I have a LOT of hair! The blowout kept for a week too. I’m super impressed and about to go there again right now.
