Complete ripoff, they buy cheap low quality trendy items(often junior brands) put their own label on it and make a killing. Jewelry bought in Chinatown for pennies resold for crazy profit. How do I know? I use to work for them… anyone who shops here needs to grow a half brain. They are counting on your stupidity.

I have shopped at this location(and occasionally the UES one) regularly for almost four years. The service is usually excellent and from fashion forward women who make great recommendations. Unfortunately, for about six months, the service at the 3rd Ave. location has gone downhill, very downhill. It is downright rude. While bedside manner is not necessarily important with fashion at these affordable prices, I miss Taroo’s friendly upbeat vibe. I really hope to see some fresh faces(or attitudes) at the 3rd Avenue location. There are so many boutiques in this area and I would love to keep shopping at Taroo, but simply cannot when you are made to feel like an inconvenience to the staff. I get better service in the big box stores on 34th Street that are crawling with tourists vs. being the only person at Taroo.

Selection is small, both in clothing options and sizes. the one thing i liked they didn’t have in a small, which is crazy. There there tanks and dresses are over priced and there really is no need to have the same item in like 4 different colors. However, there sale rack is a deal. You can get a top for 20 bucks, which is nice. I’ll be back to browse through, but doubt I’ll buy frequently.

A boutique store that has fashionable items ranging from $ 20 bucks to $ 100’s. I walked in and saw adorable dresses on the sales rack. I walked out with a unique little mini for $ 20. Happy as a clam. Taroo makes me miss Los Angeles — this is a compliment.

Everytime they change the window I’m in love with at least one of the two mannequins outfits. I’ve lived near this store for more than a year but I won’t let myself go in because I don’t want to get in bad habits. I couldn’t resist any longer when I saw a fluttery watercolor dress in the window. I broke down and entered the store — they didn’t have any more in my size — except what was on the mannequin. The sales person was so friendly — she had me try the dress on in a different color and they undressed the mannequin for me. The dress was perfect and so was the price. I expected it to be more expensive, in which case I couldn’t have afforded it, but it was very reasonable. I have a feeling that I’ll be going into this store much more regularly now. The salespeople are great and the clothes are beautiful and affordable. Its a small shop but its worth checking out!

I love this place. The staff is always so friendly. I have purchased many items from this location. It’s a great place to get pieces which are not too trendy and affordable. I usually stop by after grabbing a bite at Caliente Cab, which makes for a pleasurable shopping experience.

Taroo has interesting store fronts, the kind that you always walk by and rubber neck as you see that ONE bag, or that ONE shirt that you may want, so when you pass by, you have to pop in and take a quick peep around. They carry affordable clothing in mixed array of styles from $ 20 — $ 200. As a bonus, they usually have a $ 20, $ 30, and $ 50 rack! Hooray! I love their jewelry collection mostly in gold. They carry unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. Most necklaces are priced around $ 75 – 85 and are a higher quality that what you would expect from this store. I love Taroo! Well worth the pit stop in! The staff is incredibly friendly and I love it that they don’t pressure you to buy anything, but you’ll want to! Happy Retail Therapy!

This store is a great place to find affordable, fashionable clothing. Almost all pieces are priced under $ 150. Note that this small store is not a place for wardworbe staples. However, it is perfect for finding punchy pieces that add zest to your wardrobe.

I’ve only been to this location. And I like their selection. They carry various small-time designers that they private label. Cute styles and affordable prices. In terms of quality, you get what you pay for… The sales lady is superb! I would go back again
