One of the most affordable and delightful dining places in ny. The baked samosas are delicious.

Good and tasty vegetarian food but with limited options to choose from. My vegetarian friend who goes to the temple upstairs love the restaurant.

Home comfort food. I love this place! Wish it were a bit cheaper, since I have a big appetite. But wow whenever I’m in the area this is my go to place.

Cheap good eats and a cultural experience… makes for a really unique gem in the LES. Food was really good and anyone can eat here as it is vegan. The theme is hindu and tuesday nights is mostly indian on the menu. We had green bean and brocolli in coconut sauce, we had spicy potato, tofu snap pea pods in sweet and sour sauce, kofta balls and a huge samosa. All of it was 5 star material(except the sweet and sour). The ginger mint lemonade was spectacular. the ginger was visible but mixed in well. Take a friend here for a fun and unique experience. enjoy!

I went there armed with a groupon of 22 bucks worth of food. On trying the phone as listed on Unilocal it did not work, I did check the menu online thinking I’d get some paneer today. Anyways after I went there I was instantly disappointed after seeing the spread, I thought it would be a bigg buffet spread as I had seen at other iskon or Hare Krishna temple. The menu was different than what was listed on the website . There was some broccoli as a side, a jackfruit potato entrée, a Brussels sprout potato and a kofta. The soup was a sweet potato creamy soup. Except the kofta nothing was very palatable, honestly. The food is extremely bland and is nowhere close to indian home cooked food. Initially I was told that I could use the groupon to add separate items such as samosa or Dhokla to my plate Atleast by the First Lady at the counter. Then the guy came and told me because of groupon I can only get a 3 plate meal. So I ended up eating one and getting another for home. The kofta came pretty late so I had it for my takeout only. Anyways bottom line is I do not think I will give this place a second chance, most importantly I am upset with the service and the fact that the rules related to groupon was not told earlier.

I love, love, love this place. Organic. Affordable. Delicious. Friendly. Can’t say enough. Only that I wish they were open on Sunday nights too. I put Taste of Bhakti on my top 10 list of the best restaurants in the East Village

One of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had. Affordable and delicious. Kafka balls and coconut curry were so delicious. We had one of everything. Staff was down to earth and super friendly. Go to here!

Serenity and calm place, great Scent, tasty healthy vegetarian food, super nice squash soup. They even let you sit at the table without order anything, we went there on a groupon for two people, picked three items each person from their buffet bar all food was moderately spicy and quite tasty, the soup was the best though I forgot the name now. I learnt most staff were volunteers which is a really nice thing, and they were seem happy helping out at the place.

Again and again I’ve been more than impressed by their foods and services! The staffs are always helpful and patient in explaining the menu. On my first visit, the owner walked me through the entire restaurant + its concept. He even threw in a few extra items for me to try! With that level of hospitality and service, I knew I had to come back asap! After several revisits, I finally invited my bestie to join me for late brunch. She couldn’t agree more –Taste of Bhakti is a true gem! Beyond delicious, healthy foods(love that they have a rotating daily menu and also vegan options!). It’s also so affordable — the two of us shared a plate of 3 items($ 11 plus a free drink, thanks Unilocal check in!) and were happily satisfied. Taste of Bhakti had become my go to — pick up an item or two saved/packed for lunch the next day whenever I am on my way home. Super convenient! Super delicious! No brainer to what I will be putting into this body!

I’ve been to the previous incarnations of vegetarian dining at this location, and I must say I am pleasantly surprised this time. Stepping inside, you’re treated to a very pleasant atmosphere, both with the very tasteful décor and satisfying aromas. The service is simply excellent. Everyone is very kind and helpful. The food is outstanding. You have several choices of curry, mixed vegetables, and pad Thai noodles to name a few. They had fresh mango lassi when I was there; that’s always a welcome sight. Vegetarian food is easy to find in New York nowadays, but GOOD vegetarian food — that which is a worthy emissary to newcomers of vegetarian and prasadam(that food which is sanctified), that is difficult. Taste of Bhakti is that endearing emissary. My guest enjoyed the experience there as well, and that made me happy.

The food is good — seems to be freshly prepared with good ingredients, seems pretty healthy! Atmosphere is nice, quick, chill. Only weird thing is the whole creepy“Hare Krishna” vibe and people. But, at least they’re nice. Worth it for a clean, healthy light meal.

Definitely the best food you can find in the East Village. Even if you aren’t into Vegan or Vegetarian foods, you have to try this place out. Karma-free and cooked with love, the people here are welcoming and imbibe a spirit of devotion.

The food is nice, and the staff are lovely, but it should be noted that this is not really a restaurant — more of a buffet-style café, serving on paper plates with drinks out of a glass case. It feels a little like eating dinner in a Coffee Bean, or maybe a museum gift shop. Perfectly nice, but I had one available night for an Indian meal in New York and the reviews on Unilocal failed to alert me to this.

If you’re looking for vegetarian and vegan food that’s exceptionally well-priced — this is the place! I’ve had their design a feast($ 14) and their platter($ 11) options. In each case, you get to choose an entrée and various sides. I am all about their vegetable curry entrée(which is cooked with no oil and in a base of coconut milk and spices). Their dal and kale & beet salad are also very, very tasty. They are very generous with the portions so it’s worth every dollar you’re paying. Also, the food is fresh and, based on what I know, healthy.

I eat out maybe 4x a week. 3 of them are here. The food is really delicious. Lots of vegan options — that taste much better than that sounds. And very generous portions too. My girlfriend and I rarely finish one large plate. Whether or not you’re into the whole Hare Krishna thing, you gotta admit: these are hella kind, caring, thoughtful people. I’m made a little better just being near them. Rock on, Bhakti.

Food is awesome. Atmosphere is quiet, clean, peaceful, and«karma free.» Vegan, vegetarian, and Indian treats. The guy behind the counter is cute too! Buffet style with very reasonable prices. Everyday they seem to specialise in a specific cuisine. The banana bread was awesome. Also, the staff was super attentive, explaining all the different food selections and offering samples. Can’t wait to go back!
