Ted Greenberg’s The Complete Performer

I have no clue how this show gets such great reviews. It’s in a basement room with just some tables and chairs with maybe enough room for 15 – 20 people. There is a «bar» with limited choices. The staff is super friendly, and Ted is pretty funny, but this show doesn’t seem like any type of production. He’s not really «performing» for you and the jokes for the most part aren’t funny. It’s a bit shoddy to be honest.
I will say I did laugh here and there because some of his humor is my type of humor. My ticket was $ 5 so I don’t feel ripped off or anything. But as far as a show or date night, I sadly would not recommend this.

A wonderful escape from the real world for an hour of laughing with Ted and his adorable mascot!
Highly recommended! And if you’re lucky you may win a cab ride home with the man himself.

I’ve see Ted in The Complete Peformer several times, and keep returning! I am never disappointed. Ted manages to pull in the audience, get everyone involved and have everyone cracking up and rolling on the floor, regardless of whether he’s dealing with people who are easily amused, or really need a great joke to get them laughing. All of my friends have been drug to this show by me at one time or another, and each and every one has had a really, really great time! Highly recommended. I’ll keep going back, as long as Ted keeps performing!

I cant say enough good stuff about this show! The finace and I went last night, and enjoyed a perfect hour of good laughs and entertainment. Its a small intimate show, where everyone is super involved. I was hesitant to go when I read the reviews about how involved everyone is, (I didn’t want to get poked fun at), but its not like that AT all!!! Go if you live in the city, and definitely go if you have out of towners. Next time we have guests in town, this will be on our to do list!!!

My husband and I came to check out the show on a whim. He’s in business but loves being «that guy» when it comes to improv shows. I’m a live performer so initially I was worried about attending with my wild card hubb-​o.
TED was great! He weaved my non performer husband’s suggestion in to the structure of the show brilliantly. He wasn’t an asshole (as one could be with suggestions from an audience that is drunk) he made sure his moments landed and that everyone in the audience was having a great time. He even sent us a detailed thank you email after the show. Well worth the price of admission!

How does this show have such good reviews? My boyfriend and I chose to see this based off of the good reviews. We were very disappointed. The jokes are NOT funny, Ted is unbelievably narcissistic and has an extremely inflated opinion of himself, and the show was downright uncomfortable at times. However, our opinion seemed to be a minority. My boyfriend and I and another young couple (20s) next to us were exchanging looks the whole time as the rest of the audience cackled on in laughter. The rest of the audience consisted of middle-​aged drunk people. The only redeeming factor is that one audience member receives a free taxi ride home, but after that show, we didn’t want to spend any more time with Ted Greenberg.

It was great, a very intimate performance with just 20 – 30 people in the audience. Ted interacted with the audience a lot, some improv, some scripted. I think it’s safe to say I had never seen anything like it in my entire life. Overall it was a great pace, lots of surprises, I don’t want to say much more for fear of giving them away if you decide to attend, but I strongly recommend it.
He even sent a follow up message thanking us for coming and encouraging us to share feedback if we had anything to say.

A great time all around! The show is very interactive and entertaining. I would recommend it.

Went with three friends. All of us enjoyed ourselves. Full disclosure: we won the ride home — in a cab driven by Ted! It’s possible that biased my opinion slightly. But on the other hand it also brought home how authentic the show and Ted are. He was just as engaging and funny behind the wheel as he was on stage — if in a more intimate manner.
Why 4 stars and not 5? Everyone else here is giving 5 stars and I don’t want it to seem like we’re all friends of Ted’s in on some puff job. And I want to manage your expectations. Hey, it’s a fun, engaging, and uniquely NYC night out. Plus it’s a bargain and there are lots of good restaurants nearby. Go.

These reviews are misleading. I do not know how this has 25 reviews with 5 stars. This was NOT FUNNY. All of the jokes are predictable. The place is a dump. Take your $ 20 and spend it on a $ 15 ticket at The Stand and a drink. They are desperate for an audience — they PAY YOU $ 1 to take a picture with a mascot, after a show that drags on. NOT FUNNY. DO NOT BE MISLEAD. Find something better if you want comedy.

Ted, for better or worse, gets everyone involved. You’re probably thinking that he picks on you. But, it’s the complete opposite. We basically all team up against him and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks Ted!

Ted had lots of energy on stage and was great at getting the crowd involved. I didn’t find many of the jokes funny (High expectations?), but there were smiles a plenty when you count all the Ted imagery. Narcissist much?
Cosy venue and friendly staff complete the package. For the price, the show is worth a punt.

Excellent show! My boyfriend and I laughed all night. A large portion of the show is improv and Ted did an excellent job interacting with the crowd and getting the audience involved. I ended up on stage with Ted as part of the show and had a GREAT time. I’m a local and would definitely go again. Thanks for a great night, Ted!

Ted Greenberg’s «The Complete Performer» is truly a great show. Totally interactive,
high energy, very funny & memorable. I would definitely bring friends here who are tired of movies, puppet shows, cockfights, overpriced broadway shows & hard to find & difficult to gain admitance to executions.
He is a one man kaleidescopic, charismatic performer, impossible to resist & very entertaining!

My wife and I had a great time at the The Complete Performer. Ted Greenberg was hilarious, energetic and very spontaneous. He effortlessly got the entire crowd participating in his crazy antics. Not easy to do, especially in a tough town such as NYC. We will definitely be letting many of our friends and family know about this fabulous «little known» gem in Soho

I have seen this show several times and every time I laugh until I almost pee! Ok, I may have peed a little. It’s fresh and hilarious every single time. The combination of stand-​up, improv, audience participation, and most importantly, mascots make it an experience that is not only unique but laugh your pants off funny. I try to catch this show every time I’m in town, it’s a favorite. Do yourself a favor and go see it!!!

Ted Greenberg is so funny! Aside from the hilarious jokes, magic tricks and his own half times show (complete with mascot), you can win a free cab ride home from Ted himself! Ted does it all and the audience LOVES it!
I’ve seen this show three times and I plan on going back in May! It’s really a great show to bring people visiting from out of town. The Soho playhouse is a great intimate venue and Ted makes the show so memorable. He and his mascot will take pictures with everyone after the show and if you win the cab ride he puts a vid of the ride on youtube. I want to win so bad!
The thing I also appreciate about the show is the amount of effort and love that has clearly gone into it. As I said, I’ve been to the show a few times and it is a well oiled machine. Clearly lots of painstaking work went into making sure the show goes smoothly and each gag is carried out to perfection. Ted gives himself completely to the audience and he clearly loves performing. He wont let anyone leave that theatre without a smile on their face and you wont be able to leave without out mad respect for Ted as a performer… The COMPLETE Performer.

Tucked in a cozy theatre in SoHo, amidst a beautiful neighborhood and some of the most delectable restaurants NYC has to offer is Ted Greenberg and his mascot and a show you and your friends won’t want to miss! The scene is perfection: Having spent more than enough time (a couple days) with Times Square/​Theatre District’s plethora of sights/​shows/​restaraunts, my six person crew stumbled upon this hilarious treasure after having an unparalleled dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Ted Greenberg and his show deliver an amazing time that is unique to every audience and much more memorable than the mundane, overblown cheesiness that dominates many NYC attractions. If you love unpretentious, silly, fun, uninhibited comedy then RUN to see this show! And running there might not be such a bad idea… because Ted just might drive you home at the end of the show!
