Came here for a friend’s birthday party. Never again will I come back here. These people treat you like cattle. They do not bother to refresh your table with breat baskets. ½ of he menu was not available ’ — none of the veal/lamb chops or steak. Not even an apology. Prices are crazy — like those of a very high end restaurant where service should be great. Napoleon was $ 14.95 — and it was very bad. We still ordered desert and they brought 7 forks and threw them in the middle of the table, instead of putting forks next to each of our plates. The only thing waiter asked for is if we wanted more wine. Yet, there was a mandatory $ 98 tip on our check when we got it — and again, not one ask if we wanted more bread. Tip is earned, not a given. And these people do not deserve a tip. Food was not good either. Certainly not deserving the prices these greedy people have on their menu. Never again. I do not deserve to be treated like an animal while dropping $ 100+ per person. Oh yeah, and if you do not have an AmEx(which is apparently posted outside on a 2×4 inch sign), then you can go «to the ATM around the corner.» These people are animals.

Tevere 84! Had a top notch dinner here. They differ to most kosher meat restaurants by having a ton of veal items on the menu. Everything from A — Z was tasty, phenomenal and absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful too — They were super accommodating with moving us from one table to another in middle of our dinner(we requested). The tiramisu is my favourite. I don’t known what they put in it but OMG that tastes better than a lot of non kosher tiramisu that I’ve tried. If you haven’t been yet, you really need to go. They’re one of the best kosher meat restaurants in NYC.

The food was great, but the service was so appallingly bad that 3 stars is generous. I’m sure the problem was the kitchen and not the wait staff. I was ready to eat the legs of my chair by the time our orders arrived.

A bit different then the regular kosher steakhouses but great food really nice restaurant. Staff is extremely helpful and always right there for you. Pricing is reasonable for a kosher NYC restaurant.

The woman helping us at the door was super nice. She sat us down at a table. After being given menus, we waited about 10 – 15 minutes till a server actually stopped by our table to see if we were ready to order. The waiter was not friendly. For an expensive place, I expect great service. Food: My boyfriend and I ordered as an appetizer: artichokes roman style(consisting of four artichokes thrown onto a too large plate) and the large tortelli with veil(scarcely plated). These two appetizers did not seem fresh, and seemed to be made with a lack of care. For entrees we ordered: Breast of chicken with Marsala sauce(consisting of two pounded chicken cutlets– I make better chicken on Shabat. The sauce tasted pre prepared). We also ordered The thin pounded breaded veal(tasted old and frozen). I think the worst part is that the restaurant only took AMEX. When we asked the waiter where this was stated, he pointed to a teeny sign on the outside of the store. It was a real shame. I really expected better from Tevere, especially because of their steep prices. I would not recommend.

Nice small restaurant with a great ambiance. Food is cooked well and very tasty, the service on the other hand was lacking.

Great food, nice décor, excellent service, reasonable prices. Tevere is a home run. Their signature dish is the breaded veal milanese. Their pasta bolognese is made with home made pasta, and an amazing meat sauce. It is my favorite item on the menu, and its only $ 25 for a main course. The beef carpaccio is terriffic, as are the roman artichokes. Their soups are also always very good. They have a great selection of wine including port wine for desert. The warm soufflé chocolate cake is excellent. The cake is home made, not the microwave version you see at other kosher restaurants. Overal an A++, one of my favorite kosher restaurants in the city.

Went here for dinner with a friend. The food didn’t justify the very high prices. The meat was okay, and the appetizer was only warm, which makes me wonder how fresh it was. For the price of an appetizer here, you could go to La Marais and get an amazing kosher steak. Also, as other reviews said, the waiters were cold.

Everything was delicious. I got the artichokes which were fantastic and my husband got the mushroom soup which was good. Steak was great, Osso Bucco was authentic. We had terimisu which was a little strong on the coffee side and crème brûlée which was delicious. All in all a very nice romantic dinner and the service was very friendly and satisfactory.

It just keeps getting worse and worse. The waiter seemed like if he didn’t take our order within 30 seconds, he’ll walk away and say«Let me know when you’re ready». When I asked what he recommends, he said«whatever you like». Throughout the entire night, they forget about you. Unless you actually raise your voice and say EXCUSEME so that the entire restaurant would hear you, you wont get any attention. I asked for the check… waited 25 minutes for it and… they brought me the dessert menu, lol. Seriously? Probably the only good part of the night was the lady at the coat check

So one of my besties paid– she’s kosher, I’m not– the service was at times excellent but towards the end of the night they simply forgot my coffee. The bread basket was good, appetizers we got the artichokes which were superb and the carpaccio which was meh. For mains I got the salmon and she got the ravioli– both good, the berries in cream, meh. Overall it was a lot of $ for food that was good but not outstanding– however there is a dearth of Italian kosher so this place fills a much needed niche

Way below average food for way above average prices. The chicken was pounded so thin and had so much over cooked beading on it, it was impossible to tell what I was eating. All menu prices way too high for such a below average pace. Also, the tomatoes in the salad were so unripe a steak knife was needed to cut them.

Loved the food, wine selection, and service. Small, intimate place, great for a romantic date, but I was there alone for business trip. Only downside was price… expensive enough that its not the kind of place that I would visit regularly, more of a special occasion place… that’s the only thing that kept it from 5 stars.

Alright… on my unofficial tour of kosher restaurants in manhattan, this came up as a good choice. Now, let me preface this by saying that the food is quite delicious. You will not be disappointed. It’s just a question of whether it’s worth it. First, you have the trip. I may be biased, as I don’t like to believe that there are any restaurants above 23rd street, but I love to travel anywhere my metrocard will take me, so I’ve been many places… and going to the UES is a bit of a pain. It’s right by the train, easy to get to, but then you have to go back downtown to do anything… and nobody likes to be on the UES after dinner unless they live there. They don’t seem to take this into account, though… price wise, they’re more than most good restaurants downtown. Now, I love to drop 100 – 150 on dinner, when it’s worth it… see my other reviews… but as good as it was, I just don’t think I felt justified spending what I did. If you are limited to kosher cuisine, or live on the upper east, give it a try. But if you’re not, I feel that you can find something just as good, with a shorter train ride, for less money. If the meal really stood out as one of the best I’d had, I’d give another star… but although I left happy and sated, I really don’t think I’ll be back often.

The food is okay. It is very expensive. The staff is not very helpful or patient. The ambiance is nice, kind of romantic. I am kind of whatever about this place. I am sure there is better.

If you have only eaten out kosher the ambience of this place is nicer then other kosher places. Only a kosher place with such bad food like this could stay open in the greatest city in the world. The food is awful and over priced. We ordered the fish, the steak and a mushroom dish all were hardly edible and cost us $ 150.

Top kosher Italian restaurant. I’ve been eating here for over 15 years and have never had an off meal. Pasta, veal, chicken, fish… All amazing. The staff are true professionals. Is it expensive? Maybe. But at least they don’t disappoint like other high end restaurants do so often.
