I’m so sad to find out that my favorite place to get a coffee and scone in Manhattan has closed. Its just not right that a place as perfect as Bee’s Knees couldn’t continue to be a part of our neighborhood. Their counter culture coffee was by far the best on-drip in the area, and the pastries were solid. Please come back =(

The place is very cute and slow, the staff is sweet and fast. You can hang out here to work or meet a friend. Pastries are lovely. The coffee itself is meh’, and that’s toooo bad. But it’s cheap(1,80 $ Small Drip Coffee).

(3.5 stars) The Bee’s Knees is a small coffee shop on 3rd avenue. The coffee is good, but I don’t particularly like it for the following reasons: — Getting your drunk is slow, but it’s not the baristas fault. They have one person who makes the drinks AND rings up customers. When I went, there were two people ahead in line, and I waited for at least 10 minutes. — I came in on a Saturday morning and there weren’t any people there. The only patrons who came got their drink to go. I like my coffee shops buzzing with a least a few other people. — The ambiance is mellow and too dim for a coffee shop, which is why most people don’t come here to work or relax. The ambiance is much more ‘nighttime bar’ than it is ‘daytime café, and that makes sense because they serve wine at night, but it conflicts with ‘s the bright and lively ‘daytime café’ feel that I enjoy.

Cute and quiet coffee shop on 3rd ave. nice for a quick break, came here in between classes. Good café to get work done in. Love the passion fruit iced tea, and especially the cake cups! Got a small iced tea for less than $ 3. Service was great, didn’t take long even though the place was packed, and staff was very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

Amazing little cozy coffee shop near Baruch college. Enjoyed their delicious caramel latte with chocolate salted caramel pecans cakecup! Must try, the place gives you that warm neighborhood feeling and free wifi(haha), there are seats to sit by the tables or the wooden bar:) Enjoy with 6% Baruch student discount:)

Suuuchhh a cute little café! With the perfect name and the perfect theme! :) I just moved into the area, and if you know me, I’m ALWAYS searching for the perfect neighborhood café. Well, I think I’ve found the one! My friend and I stopped by on a Sunday morning. Although the place is small, and all the tables and bar stools were taken when we arrived, by the time we placed our orders and got our drinks a few spots had opened up. We each ordered a panini. My friend got the bacon, cheddar, turkey one and I got the mozzarella, tomato, pesto one. Both were fantastic options! However, the bread was wayyy over toasted. Not quite burnt, but too crunchy for my liking… like it’d been accidentally left in the panini presser for too long. Otherwise, the portions were generous and the ingredients fresh! I ordered a small iced latte, and I was surprised how big their ‘smalls’ are! It’s the size of a ‘regular’ or ‘medium’ is at most places! My only gripe was with how long the food took to come out. I don’t know if this is a regular occurrence, but we waited almost 20 – 30 minutes for two paninis! Good thing we weren’t in a rush… but next time, I will just be grabbing a pastry!

Very cute little coffee shop and bakery. The interior is rustic and natural, with lots of overhead lighting and small tables to do work. It’s perfect for studying individually or in a small group, the tables are for two. The coffee is delicious. I got an iced latte with almond milk and it was rich, creamy and with a very strong coffee flavor that didn’t have any hint of burnt bitterness. I’m a student in the area so I will be definitely be coming back! The cake cups look delicious as well, I’ll have to try one.

You all need to come here with the CUPS app! I got a large iced latte, which came out to be a little more than a dollar, which otherwise would have been about $ 4.00. The iced latte with milk was awesome. It was counter culture coffee, and tasted great with some added sugar. I think the place itself is pretty unique too. The theme is obviously bumblebees and the wall décor, lights, tables etc. were all in cute hexagonal shapes to look like beehives. There is a full bar too so its not just a coffee and bakery place. Service was quick, staff was friendly, and there was free wifi, lots of seating, and not too many people. I will definitely be back to try some of their bakery items!

The coffee was average. Slightly better than the McDonald’s watered down coffee I had this morning. The good thing is it wasn’t too pricey. A medium iced coffee is $ 2.50 before tax. The spot is definitely really quiet and good for working. Except that the wifi isn’t working. Everyone here has a Mac except me so maybe that has something to do with it? Staff isn’t very friendly so I didn’t want to ask about the wifi. I probably won’t come back.

Tried this coffee shop because of CUPS when I had a work meeting in the area. It was a hot day so I opted for their iced tea which was great but even more awesome was their cake cups. Delicious! Had the honey bourbon and key lime cheesecake and the cheesecake was the winner of the two.

When talking about food — I like to share with you guys if something blew my mind. If not, then it usually gets no higher than 4 stars THISBLEWMYMIND! I CHOOSEYOU Bee’s Knees — YOU! Over cupcakes, over doughnuts, and dare I say even over… ice cream. It’s you — and we belong together. I’m mad you moved though, because your old location was more convenient! So I haven’t been to the new location — This is a review of just the cake cup products. I like all the flavors — but my favorites are –Yellow Cake with White Chocolate Mousse and Raspberry Jam –Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese They are super moist and the creams are VERY good. I could probably eat about 4 cups before the sugar overload — but I’m preeetty sure you guys could too(full disclosure: they are a little pricey for the size — but the few bites you do get(using their tiny wooden spoons), they are very good)

The Bee’s Knees is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The ambiance is upscale– cute and the staff is friendly and sweet. I liked the iced coffee a lot(it was strong and smooth,)and the mozzarella Panini was awesome(buttery, gooey and crisp). This is a great spot to do work as well!

*** Cute atmosphere, Great dessert options, Free wifi, Delicious coffee *** I came here for a study session and it was such a great idea. It’s a very cozy atmosphere. There are tables and bar seating. There’s an assortment of desserts and the coffee is really delicious here. Also, free wifi is a huge plus.

I used to attend Baruch at night and I’d get some Dunkin Donuts coffee before class. I recently had to go back for a few evenings and I was thrilled to see that this charming little coffee place had replaced the wine bar that had been here previously. Review is for coffee and service only, as I’ve never indulged in the treats(although I’ve been tempted to). My mom taught me not to eat dessert before dinner! I really, really like Counter Culture coffee… once or twice when I’ve visited other cities I’ve tried to scope out the places that brew it. Of the times I’ve stopped by Bee’s Knees, all but once has it been brewed perfectly. That one time it was a bit watered down, but I’ll assume that was a freak accident rather than a regular occurrence. Not that the folks at the nearby Dunkin Donuts aren’t friendly, but the level of service at Bee’s Knees really stands out from the chain coffee shops in the area. I’m always greeted with a smile and a hello, and every time I walk out with my coffee to-go, I wish I lived or worked a little bit closer so I’d have an excuse to stay a bit longer.

After learning about the company from one of its owners(and chef), Billy Mayer, my itch to come here has been two years in the making. At the time, hardly anyone would ever think of any another way of having a cake than by slice or bake a whole, small cake. It was a concept that was neat enough to be part of a «revolutionary cake movement» that has emerged in recent years – have you tried those cake push pops? They’re like crack. Before I knew it, BKBCo has already moved into another location in a span of just two years from the West Village location that housed its start and growth. So, I actually thought these things were so fancy and came in a glass cup – like, I was not ready to pay about $ 7.50 for these things, even though they were so damn cute; luckily, they came in small, plastic containers. I got the Key Lime cup and I knew this stuff was just going to be amazing from the moment I laid my eyes on it. They all looked fresh and were presented beautifully. Every one of them had the detailing as if they were cheesecakes, except they were pound cake-based in layers. I absolutely loved the Key Lime and it felt like I was eating a slice of key lime cheesecake – there was the quintessential lime-flavored cream between each layer of cake, topped with graham crumble. I think it provided the same kind of consistency and satisfaction a slice of key lime cheesecake would. I will say that $ 4 is a bit steep, especially if you are just looking at it as something served in a plastic cup. Luckily, I used the $ 3 promotion from PayPal and paid just $ 1, but it was a good introduction for me to want to come back again and try their other flavors.

I passed this place a number of times before finally having my curiosity get the better of me. I mean, I do find the phrase«the bee’s knees» pretty adorable, so, when I saw there was a café with that name, well, I had to check it out. They have a location in the West Village, but I went to their newest store in Gramercy. The store itself is small and quaint, with a strip of seating along the wall. They have coffee from Counter Culture(also found at Everyman Espresso), pastries, and even wine and charcuterie. They’re most well known for their baked goods, specifically their Cake-cups. I didn’t know about these treats, and unfortunately my stomach wasn’t up for it at the moment, so, I couldn’t try one. I know, I know. But, now that I know about them, I can always go back. There’s always room for a Cappuccino, though.
