OK, not sure if the food has gone South here, but the chicken for 2 is one of my favorites. The bread basket will throw you off any diet as well (esp. the olive bread). Drinks are OK (albeit a bit overpriced). I give it 4 stars for having some good eats AND a fun, retro-​ambiance.

cozy retro place off in a nook and cranny of the west village. the location alone, tucked away from the bustling village makes you feel like you’ve found this secret gem in nyc. super friendly service and good food. the beet salad was delish and my duck was also good — not overcooked at all. but people, go to blue mill soon. we were tipped off by our waiter that the owner wants to turn it into an «italian-​american dive» — meaning pizzas and pastas — and is doing away with a lot of the great stuff on the menu. interior will remain but the menu will change — and that can’t be a good thing.
