Had a ball last Night DJ Lance Rocked out, you not getting in here if you under 40. the Margaritas are Awsome. My third time here will né back more often. Always have a top DJ in riff raff just us good grown folks shaking after work in the City, two for one drinks happy Hour. Love it.

I should’ve been born a decade or two earlier, in a time when the people danced, the drinks were affordable and the DJ knew how to keep the crowd engaged. Although, not my particular preference in music, the place was pretty darn good. The bartenders were quick, probably the fastest I’ve ever seen. The dance floor was moving from the time I walked in until the time I left. And the door service was cool too. People in attendance were so respectful. So much so that a guy saw me struggling to put on my coat and he actually helped me. Wow that still exist, you ask? Yes, in another place, in another time, in another world, known as, The Inkwell.

I’ve been here for a total of 20 minutes and it’s already the worst service I’ve had anywhere. Upon walking in and paying the $ 10 cover at 6:30PM(AKA happy hour), my bags were checked TIA style, wallet opened, I had a bag inside of another larger bag, and that smaller bag was turned upside down and dumped into the larger bag. And I guess my hand was in the«bouncers» way, because she proceeded to bark at me, Move your hand, I ain’t gonna steal nothing.” Then after paying to check my coat, the equally rude coat check boy stared at me as if I was supposed to climb behind the counter and check my own bag. At this point, I’m only still here because I’m waiting on my friend to wish her happy birthday. Not to mention every song played so far(now 45 minutes later, smh) sounds like it’s from the 70s. I wish I could give it negative stars. It’s a «no» from me. *Simon Cowell voice*

I’ve been looking all over NYC for a place to get my dance groove on that caters to a 40 yr old + crowd and I must say, the Inkwell is the place! I love the vibe here. The 241 drink specials are on point, not watered down. No cover before 6:30pm. And the dance floor is bumping the whole time. My only criticism is unless you reserve a table, there is no place to rest your tired feet, unless you beg to sit down at a reserved table for a couple minutes. And I’ve been here 3 times, but the DJ doesn’t seem to play the best stuff until an hour before it closes. With all that said, I will keep coming back. The crowd is friendly and respectful. Because it’s an older crowd, there are no worries of fights breaking out. Just grown and sexy people looking to get their groove on after work. Wish they were open Saturday nights also!!!
