Toby’s offers super relaxed atmosphere and some good happy hour prices. The bartenders are extremely friendly and don’t mind changing your beer if you seen to dislike it. The food here is pretty good for bar food and the selection is big as well. A great spot to spot by for a mid day drink with a couple of friends.

We really liked the buffalo mozzarella/tomato salad and the Margherita pizza. This place does simple food well. High quality ingredients and a proper understanding of proportions really makes a difference. The salad had the perfect blend of freshness from the tomatoes, which was complimented by the slight sweetness of balsamic. The mozzarella was still the star. The pizza was perfectly thin and crispy(my favorite). I would definitely return. Another plus, is that no one tries to lure you into Toby’s(unlike most of Little Italy).

They serve beer, wine and fermented house made vodka is interesting. The food is good. Had the arugula salad, shrimp kebabs and pizza. All delish and familiar tasting.

We met up with a buddy for lunch before we left town and Toby’s was just a little north of the main stretch of Little Italy. It has a modern and rustic feel. The pizza was top notch. We got the Tartufata, a truffle oil, mushroom and prosciutto concoction that pleased everybody. The beer was well priced by Manhattan standards and the wine was good. This place can definitely holds its own to the other pizza places in the area, without the long waiting involved.

Great pub. Very friendly atmosphere, good food food, nice ambience. Our group had the margarita pizza, mussels appetizer, and meatball appetizer. All very good. And plenty for an early supper for six. (The washrooms could use an update.)

This time of year can drive a person to either drink or commit acts of violence. Finding myself utterly spent and fighting the shopping bags and thickets of tourists just to get out the building I worked in, I said enough is enough — MURDER or vodka? I chose vodka. Wandering down a side street, my companion in craving spotted Toby’s. His thought process was MURDER or pizza. I chose pizza with the prospect of vodka as a chaser. The pizza was highly recommended by our server, a sweet girl from the land of Oz. It was thin crusted and piled with artichokes, ham and arugula. Upon ordering, we realized we could only choose from the drinks on the menu. Due to some city license-cum-ordinance, the establishment did not carry full proof alcohol. So, my vodka shot request would have not had the same potency or purposefulness as say, one of their prepared drinks. Hmm, I will not pretend to even comprehend the fuckakta system that is our city’s liquor licensing requirements; therefore, I ordered a prepared drink and accepted the situation. I wasn’t in love with the Tequila Sunset. Neither with the Rum Punch. All I wanted was a proper pure shot, but after the day I had, even the 20% alcohol content put a soft cap on the holiday crunch we were feeling. And of course, the pizza helped too :-) I think I’ll be having wine next time…

The wife and I were looking for a place to eat where we could stay as close to a low carb diet as possible, an nearly impossible task in NYC. Then we checked out their menu! We started with a $ 15 meat and cheese board. The meats were nice and salty and amazing quality, The cheese was abundant and we’re definitely not disappointed. For our main course I had the grilled shrimp skewers with the pickled veggies. The shrimp were plump and fresh and veggies had a nice char. Overall, a great meal, add some Prosseco(allegedly kind of low carb) or some Vodka sodas and you won’t even know you’re dieting… PS: the pizzas look amazing and will surely test your will.

Great little pub with tasty food and good beer selection on tap. Came for some happy hour drinks with a bunch of work friends. Ordered a few pizzas and a sampler of fried snacks. All of it was delicious. And the service was fast and friendly. The brick oven pizza was worth a stop by its self. Great crust and lots of classic topping options serves two for a meal or 4 as a snack Highly recommend stopping by.

GODDDDDD this place was good. I came here with my girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon. We just wanted a few drinks and maybe a light snack but ended up getting a salad and a pizza instead(plus drinks). It was one of the last warm days of fall(unseasonably warm) so it was nice to be able to sit at a table near one of their open windows and have the breeze and be able to people watch. We ordered the Arugula salad and the Spinach Pizza. We also got beers, too. The salad was fantastic. Just enough goat cheese, and the polenta croutons were a nice touch. The pizza… the pizza was a dream. It had spinach, pecorino, ricotta, mozzarella and TRUFFLEOIL on it. I could have probably eaten the entire thing by myself. The only thing that was sad about it was the size. It wasn’t THAT big so keep that in mind if you’re starving or with a large group of people. The crust is thin and crispy too, which is great because I hate when the crust is too heavy and doughy. Our server was great and the food came out quick. The ambiance is fun. There are pictures of dogs on the walls, too, which is an added bonus if you’re obsessed with dogs like I am. The only thing weird is the bathroom with a small shared sink, but other than that, the whole place was great. Can’t wait to come back here again for more delicious pizza!

Some of the best brick oven pizza I’ve ever had(and I’ve been to Italy a crazy amount of times)! It still doesn’t top my personal favorite, but I’d definitely give this place #2 in my book, which is impressive cause I’ve been to so many pizza places and am super picky. My boyfriend insisted on trying the Tartufata. I’m not a fan of pizza with lots of toppings but I gave it a shot, and loved it. It was so good that we decided to order an other pie before we had even finished this first one. The second time we went with the Bufalina, which was AMAZING. Super crispy thin crust, with the fresh mozzarella still melting on top. We finished both pies between the two of us. I’ll definitely be back.(Obviously…)

Stopped in for lunch for some Italian flavored deliciousness and we got just that. The atmosphere is the typical Italian restaurant with wooden chairs and tables. The touch I really enjoyed was all the pictures on the walls were of cute puppies & their owners. They have a system where you can get your picture on the wall with your furry friend if interested. The chairs however were not very comfortable. We sat by the window and people watched while we waited on our drinks & food as it was being prepped. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The cook by the oven was singing and whistling. I found it funny and made me chuckle as I passed by there on my way to wash my hands. We ordered a pizza and salad and shared it. The Caesar salad was fresh and delicious. The pizza was good, think crust and ooey gooey on top. It reminded us of our very recent trip to Europe, although the sauce could have been a hair less in the middle. We left feeling satisfied.

Half price happy hour until 7 on drinks. Need I snay more? I guess I could. The bar is small so get there early if you’d like a seat. I didn’t try their food but the pizzas looked and smelled delicious. Will definitely be back to try them.

This place was suggested to me by Scoutmob after a bit of coaxing with a 50% off offer. This place is underrated, underknown, or something, because everything we got here was worth the full menu price(*cough* assuming we had paid it). A friend an I ordered two different pizza’s. Which ones? I don’t remember, but they were both Bill and Ted excellent. The pizza’s were comparable to any of the well known pizzerias in the city without the after taste of food snobbery. Also, there is a picture here of some pearl onions. That’s my picture. Get those. They are delectable, but don’t forget that they are skewered on pointy objects. Those things dipped in the cayenne ranch sauce might make you forget that little fact. Why 5 stars? Why not? The foods good, they prices are good, and they have a pretty good craft beer selection. It’s great if your on a casual date, or even just as a jumping off point for a longer night.

Scoutmob gave us $ 15 here* rendering the auto-gratuity’d bill $ 48, and they toss ya a free Cheap Beer card with it, so not a bad evening. Atmosphere is PublicHouse-loud, and service at the tables is friendly but skews slow, especially if you’re not imbibing. They boast a ‘Pipiroom’, aka saloon’d narrow bathrooms with M/F toilets and an awkwardly placed exterior unisex sink in a tight spot. We started with the very good burrata pizza to split(a new red-sauce version soon replacing the white on the permanent menu), then moved onto the app sampler platter(a special mostly amassing items from the regular menu) with heavily fried but not unsatisfying beet chips, zucchini sticks, polenta fries, and beer battered pearl onions, none of which were particularly memorable, especially compared to their plate brothers/sisters. Co-diner enjoyed the orecchiette with chicken, which came out in a cast iron pan. We may look into getting our late dog on the wall with the rest of the hounds. *that universal ’50% off’ has its limits,

Enjoyable place for sure, chill ambiance and did not get as crowded as I thought it might’ve on a Saturday late afternoon. The bar offers a nice selection of bottled and tap beers, beyond that they have some wine and a limited offering of cocktails. Beyond those few cocktails, no booze which was disappointing but probably a good thing. Got 3 pizzas and all were nice, I’d say the least elegant(buffalo mozzarella) was the tastiest, but the prosciutto and arugula pie was a winner too. If you are in the area and looking for a few beers and food, would highly recommend. Not so much if you are looking to let loose on the town.

We stumbled on this place during a lazy snowy Saturday and I verified the Unilocal 4 star upon entry. The meat and cheese plate was stellar(see photo) and everything is fresh to death. I couldn’t get enough of the drinks either, this was one of the better Saturday daytime bartenders I’ve come across. An all around great experience. I don’t get very involved with pizza reviews, but I’ll say they are up there with Keste and friends. Very flavorful brick oven pies in the grand scheme of New York pizza.

Words can’t even describe how I feel about this place! I don’t know whether to feel discriminated by my age or race… but sure didn’t feel right. My friends and I wanted to come into this place, granted it was during the street fair, however, we were denied entry for NOVALID reason. 1st the lady was like we can’t let you in and we said why. Then she’s like you guys look to young. We then offered to show our IDs and she was like there are cops right at the corner and I don’t want use to get shut down because you guys look too young. We kept saying we have a valid ID, but finally she pointed to me and my friend stating that she can’t let us in because of us. Naturally, both of us bring asian and the other 2 girls I was with white… Up to you to decide what just happened here, but I wouldn’t want to go somewhere if I am being either judged by my age(with valid ID and NOTDRUNK — allergic to alcohol btw) or my race.
