This is probably the most dishonest and poorly run proprietorship with which I’ve ever conducted business. To make a long story short, I sought to save a few dollars by bringing a fairly nice watch into Tribeca Watch Repair — as opposed to an authorized dealership — to have the dial refinished, which had suffered a bit of water damage as a result of my not having properly closed the gasket. The owner said that the job would be performed in-house and that it would be ready within two weeks. I called to inquire after three weeks, and was told that they would need a bit more time because some of the parts they had ordered for the job had not yet arrived. After another three weeks, they had the same story. Finally, after another two weeks, I went into the store to demand that they just give me the watch back, at which point I was told that they had sent my watch off to some undisclosed location. When I returned two weeks later to pick up the watch, I found that the dial had not been refinished, but that it had been REPLACED with a counterfeit, third-party product. Even more hilarious was the price tag on the job — due to «unexpected costs,» they were charging me an additional $ 100 dollars. Hilarious. When I finally stopped laughing and told them that I would under no circumstances be paying, the owner of the store tried to justify their actions by telling me that they had done me a «favor» and that the new dial made the watch«better.» Do yourself a favor — bring your timepiece somewhere else. These guys are extremely dishonest, have bad attitudes, and should be shut down.

Avoid this place. I brought in a watch that wasn’t running. They did some«tests» and told me that some mechanism in the watch was broken and wanted $ 150 to fix it. I decided to try another shop down the street — turns out the watch just needed a new battery($ 5). I replaced the battery and it has been running fine for months now.
