The window display captured my attention as I was walking my dog… ya know, that fur look that’s so everywhere this winter… and I see a sale sign. Oooh, I shouldn’t go in there, because I can tell I’m going to want that jacket in the window! Well, I can’t resist on the walk back home, so I walk in, and I’m merrily greeted by the owner Michael. He tells me to try on anything and everything, and to ‘have fun!’. And I did just that, trying on everything and chatting it up with Michael about traveling, life stories, fashion. All the meanwhile, my dog has found the perfect cozy spot on the fancy rug beneath the armchair, and the only thing he could ask for is a fire place. So Tutti Trendy’s story is that all the clothes in there are designed by Michael’s designer friends, so local, under-the-radar designers. My favorite boutique in Atlanta(my hometown) also specialized in this way. Its obvious what there is to love about this… wearing stuff no one else will have. And to top it all off, everything is reasonably priced! I’m the type of gal that doesn’t necessarily believe you have to shell out big wads of cash for something just because its a designer label… even if something is YSL or LV or whatever big name you throw on the label… if it doesn’t have unique details or fits like a glove, no way! It the details that make a garment worth lots of $$, so what I like about Tuttitrendy is that it is priced for what it is; unique clothes that do not look cheap. Sometimes I’m shocked at other boutiques, by how cheap the clothes look for its price; I’m not trying to talk smack, but for instance, Pinky Otto, which is just a few doors down, is a prime example of it. I’m talking the same print and design of an H&M garment, so a rip off RE-ripped off, but double the price. Essentially, I was ecstatic to have found such a positive, fashion-loving vibe from the owner, and to find some real gems in there that I wear very often. Just one example of what a bargain I found… a real fur vest(knee length and hooded) for 150 and fur ear muffs for 30. A steal. And this fits-my-body-like-a-glove dress, with great little details, like black lace within the cut outs on the leopard print, so that the leopard is not a print, its part of the dress, for 75. Love love love!
