Anthony, the tattoo person at Village Dreams, tattooed our 16-yr-old and her 16-yr-old friend. It is illegal in NY State for someone under 18 to be tattooed, even with parental permission(which our daughter and her friend, in any case, DIDNOT have). Our 16-yr-old doesn’t have a fake ID saying she’s 18. Anthony had her sign a piece of paper on which she said she was 19. I don’t think she looks older than her actual age, and she didn’t have ID, so accepting her as a customer was reckless on his part. For the rest of her life, our daughter has an astrological sign on her forearm, which I think will be to her detriment when she presents herself as an adult to the world. There are real tragedies in the world that can’t be prevented, and this is not a tragedy in that sense, but this permanent scar could have been prevented by Anthony if he had checked for legitimate ID instead of taking advantage of a teenager’s impulse.
