Important question: I know it’s been closed for years, but this bar had my favorite bathroom in the WORLD. Vynl owners: if you still have the JT bathroom accessories and are willing to sell, please contact me! Not even joking at all :) So sad it closed! :(

This pretentious(and I don’t mean it in a mean way, surprisingly) is right in the heart of Chelsea. You can expect to see queens from all walks and thrones to converge in such an establishment where one of the staff’s Ipod plays music to some funky rhythms and their fabulous happy hour. I went to meet my friend Sly after a hard day at work, and seeing the ambiance when I got there first, made me feel at ease and that I wasn’t going to have such a shabby time. I ordered the Bacon Blue Cheeseburger which was heaven. the burger was cooked just right and I believe it came with fries as well. The drink was also good, I believe it was called the Vynl Special or something to do with the name of the restaurant itself. I will say that while I don’t remember too much from that night, because of the drinks of course, I will say that the drinks were tasty, and strong. I do remember also, that we had the sweet potato fries with blue cheese, and those were to die for. I DO remember those… lol The crowd was not overwhelming with fagginess and the experience overall, was favorable. I would come back here again.

She is now closed. RIP Vynl Chelsea. I will always remember countless drunk moments with you

Vynl is OK. I go more for the atmosphere than the food. And there is a really cute server named Daniel at this location. Adorable. Their tomato basil soup is pretty darn good, and I always like their turkey burger with some steamed broccoli. Good stuff! I’m also partial to the Boy George bathroom.(I think it’s Boy George!) It’s too bad they don’t have any grilled chicken — it’s all fried stuff. Booooo.

I like this place, but not as much as their hell’s kitchen location, even though this one is much closer to where I live. It’s good. It still gets four stars. The service is great, it’s kitschy in a fun way, and the food and drinks are tasty. It’s just not great, compared to the other one this menu is smaller and the drinks not as insanely good. So it’s fun to try, but I feel that the real vynl experience I enjoy is a few stops uptown.

Sweet baby Gaga. $ 6 frozen margarita(happy hour) that drinks like a $ 20 margarita? Tasty? STRONG? Check, check, and check! Yes, this place is full of men. Yes, they are all hot. Yes, they will check you out. No, wait– they are checking your outfit out and judging you. Vynl rivals Rawhide, Rocking Horse, and Gym in hot gay guy to girl ratio(hint, it’s like 50:3, and all three girls are really bitter). The set up is fun, as well as the crowd, and if you’re lucky you’ll get an outdoor table that is perfect for people-watching. I will definitely be back!

We had Saturday brunch there and wish we hadn’t. There are so many other places to go. Based on the snapshot of when I was there, people over 30 were seated in the back and the under 30 got the patio or the front. We passed several empty tables on the patio and in front to get before being seated. We were dressed in suits so it wasn’t our appearence. I’m not saying it is there practice, I’m just stating my observation. Regarding the food, we ordered an egg sandwich that was supposed to come with cheese and it didn’t. Had to ask for it. The Monte Cristo was on french toast. There just wasn’t anything noteworthy about either. The service was eh?! The décor, eh(they at least tried the vinyl record theme)?! Big snooze!

OH gotta love the kitsch shadow boxes, incl KISS and Boy Geo. Food rates, fresh, fun and reasonable, and so enjoy the diner/bar/goof of the place. LPs on the ceiling.

Good service. This is a watering hole for people who work nearby! All I can say is Justin Timberlake bathroom(check it out)! They play music videos on a projection screen, as well as Glee. I have never had the food here because I am usually too tipsy to get to that part. The frozen margaritas are dangerous. After 2 of them, you will definitely feel good! I hope to try the food soon.

I came to Vynl for a birthday dinner with a few friends. It had a great vibe and the music decorum was a festive touch. The food was really good– American/Asian fusion. They have a range between breakfast waffles, vegetable stir fry, curry, and burgers. The space itself was decently sized, but the setting was very loud and busy. I wouldn’t suggest this place for a date. I had the smoked salmon wrap, which was pretty good. It’s not really hard to mess that dish up though. My friends enjoyed their food, but the asian food is definitely Americanized. The bathrooms were really cool! Each bathroom is a dedication to a music artist! It was pretty unique. Come here if you have music-lover friends and they may get a kick out of this place!

I went there for one of the few extended Happy Hour’s that lasts until 9PM when most of the surrounding spots end at 7pm. A friend and I ordered the Frozen Margarita for $ 5 in a Giant sized glass. The drink was made strong, but not over bearing, still tasty. After 2 of them, I was feeling a bit touched. I did not stay for the food as we ate at Flight 151 about 1 and a half before. The food looked good, and the bartender and host were very attentive and informative. Good after work/happy hour spot if you are in the Chelsea Area. With a Happy Hour that lasts until 9PM, it’s a great spot to catch after the others are done.

Vynl is nothing special. It isn’t a place that I’d particularly suggest to any friends looking for suggestions, but the food is solid. It’s true and you know it. But nevertheless, I seem to find myself here more Friday nights than not — thanks to my healthy love of my gay friends and its proximity to the bar that we go to for happy hour. Without fail, three to five of us(figures I’m the only chica though) tromp there post-happy hour to order a variety of appetizers and a beer for dinner — usually chicken nachos seem to make the list. They’re a good size for an appetizer and aren’t over-seasoned. The Thai chicken wings aren’t particularly Thai-ish, but they’ve a pleasant taste. I love the onion rings and fries — both are thin cut and perfectly crispy. Can’t really knock the décor here — after all, it is what it is for the most part. I’m happier with the Justin Timberlake themed bathroom than some of their other locations’ bathroom themes. At least he’s pretty relatable.

I just came for happy hour and they had amazing specials for great prices. According to the huge projection screen and corresponding soundtrack, it was Whitney Houston night and it was(surprisingly) quite empty. The food was… bar food, even though Vynl is technically a restaurant first and a bar second. The outdoor eating section is small but nice. Bathrooms have crazy murals of old pop stars. Good for a quick drink, but no destination.
