4 stars for the burger/value, but not being able to pay at the burger counter is a massive downer. Everyone knows how mental the check out lines can be at WF. Burger was cold by the time I paid for it. Considered eating it in line. Their BBQ counter upstairs let’s you pay there and then, Whole Burger should consider doing the same.

Leron’s Lesson: Quality burgers for lunch. Will fill you up and won’t empty your wallet. Full Review: I frequently visit Whole Burger because it is close to my job. Thankfully, the burgers are consistently delicious and filling. They are prepared fresh with your choice of ingredients right in front of your eyes. I strongly recommend creating your own burger with the toppings and extras that you desire. Be mindful that sometimes there is a long line, but usually it is worth the wait.

Whole Burger is the new replacement for Bowery Burger. Thankfully more has changed than just the name. The location, Houston’s Whole Foods on the street level across the hot bar and next to the sushi bar. The Bowery Burger started off as something great. It had deliciously juicy burgers with fresh ingredients. That changed quite quickly and the burgers transformed into super dry blobs of beef that needed to be drowned in some sort of condiment to be eaten. I learned watching my burgers being crushed with a spatula while being cooked had a way of depressing me. Enters Whole Burger in the same location as Bowery Burger. Signature Burgers(grass-fed beef, turkey, vegan beet burger) $ 8: #1 gruyère, shitake, caramelized onion, truffle mayo, local bun #2 pepper jack, fried onion, spicy pickle, chipotle mayo, local bun #3 queso blanco, avocado, salsa fresca, cilantro-lime mayo, local bun #4 cheddar, beer onions, smoked bacon, bbq sauce, local bun #5 buttermilk bleu, red onion, argula, balsamic glaze, local bun Classic Burger $ 5; Classic Hot Dog(beef and pork) $ 3 Sides $ 3: French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, and Onion Rings You can also make your grass-fed beef or turkey burger a double for an additional $ 4 And if none of those burgers interest you, build your own for the same $ 8. I struggled with a decision between #1 and #4 but finally chose #4 because bacon was involved. I also made it a double. As I found out, I assure you it is very rare that you will need to upgrade to a double! WARNING!!! These burgers are huge! Unless you are trying to share your food with your local book club, about to go into hibernation, or protein loading in hopes of becoming the World’s Strongest Body Builder, you don’t need a double. The entire burger was good and I struggled to finish. Everything on the burger is basically all-local everything. Even the meat is fresh. You don’t get a patty to start. You get a big blob of fresh-grounded meat shaped into the form of a burger there on the grill. That’s fresh!
