In all candor, I can’t provide a review based on my actual therapeutic experience at WAWI — because neither of my two recent inquires of the past few years has actually led to me becoming a client at the Institute. What I can report, however, is a less than considerate, and less than respectful experience I’ve had during the inquiry and intake processes. In fact on both occasions, I’ve found the Institute’s intake director in particular, to be noticeably cold and impersonal in demeanor, and downright unresponsive to my requests for information and for consideration.
Frankly, I find it more than a little off-​putting to have been subjected to such unprofessional and offensive behavior. I’ve heard good things about the actual quality of care at WAWI, which I have no reason to disbelieve. On the other hand, my life experience has taught me that an organization’s true culture is often quite discernible during one’s first few encounters with that organization — and that it usually behooves one to pay close attention to the quality of those encounters, and be honest with oneself about what one is actually perceiving. Caveat emptor.
