Unfortunately now closed, store is up for rent… Was the only neighborhood joint that you could have a family dinner at without traveling deep into Chinatown. Sadly, the ready-made dim sum and steamed buns will be missed, but the terrible service will be not!

Closed for business… Say it ain’t so. I went there for lunch on Mon and it was closed. I thought maybe it’s closed for Mondays becasue it was their slow day. I spoke to my uncle who lives down the block and he said they lost the lease. I’ve been going there for a very long time; family dinners, dim sum, and take out. Yes, maybe it didn’t have the cleanest bathroom in town but I knew better to go at home before going there. The food was getting much better in the last couple of years, easy access, close to my aunts and uncles homes, and easy parking. Even if they open again it won’t be the same unless they’re in that area. The staff was never rude to us since my uncle knew the owners and all the waiters. Even if I go there on my own they were never rude. I will miss this place.

In a word — Consistent. Been eating here for decades. If it’s authentic Cantonese cuisine you seek, you will find it here. Biggest complain about this place is that they can get heavy handed on the salt every so often. Great place for dim sum. Way better than Golden Unicorn. If you’re not intimidated by the lack of English speaking staff, another great place to try is Hop Shing on Chatham Square. If lost in translation is not your thing, Red Egg near Little Italy is highly recommended but pricier. Just stay away from Golden Unicorn.

Their dim sum is mediocre and cheap. Ladies at the counter are very rude. I guess they don’t get to share the tips. Waiters are OK. What do you expect in Chinatown ? It’s strictly a three star restaurant. But I minus one star for cleanliness. This place is dirty!

I’ve been ordering from seamless from this place for a while now. My review is only about the food and delivery service. Food: 3 stars. Nothing to talk about. If anything it may be slightly below. I mostly order from here because they have a decent dimsum selection. Their dimsum is really not that great. The skins of the dumplings are thick and don’t have the right texture. The shrimp in the crepes don’t have that fresh bite to them. I’ve also ordered fried noodle dishes such as seafood panfried noodles and other noodles. They’re very noodle heavy so you’ll get plenty of that. But you won’t get much of the toppings in the sauce. Delivery service: 1 star. Really bad. They always say 30 – 45 min on seamless but the fastest order I’ve ever received was within 1.5 hours. So, don’t order from here if you’re hungry. Overall, I’m ashamed of my laziness and inability to choose a much better establishment just because they don’t deliver. But, they do deliver to a wide area and if you’re willing to be patient, in the mood for slightly below average dim sum food, then go for it.

I got three ducks and a chicken for my birthday picnic and while none of it was mindblowing watching the butcher chop up the duck was art. Dude swung that cleaver like a boss. They also have pipa duck which looked interesting but it’ll wait for another time.

I had a sudden need for beef hofun, and I had already walked passed most of the places I usually go, so I ended up here instead. It’s not bad, and the prices are OK. Their congee and hofun were good, if a bit on the oily and salty side. I basically needed a liter of water shortly after my meal. However, I was quite satisfied.

My favorite go to place to pick up dim sum. Right next to the F train East Broadway stop. Some dim sum tend to be sold out(i.e. Tofu skin) if you really want to wait for it, it’ll probably be another 10 minutes or so. The BBQ is also good and they have a good variety of rice dishes to choose from for lunch too,

Dim sum is cheap during the week, and for this cheap, don’t expect too much. Sometimes their food is NOT fresh. When I say not fresh, it means the following. Paid $ 4 for a sticky rice wrap, it looked very different. It was wrapped with another layer of paper instead of just the lotus leaf. When I open it, there were holes on the leaf, meaning that this piece was sitting in the steamer for probably months and the rice and meat inside had weird color. Threw it away, didn’t want to risk my life.

Best beef noodle in town! Super cheap dim sum and metered parking right in front. The grossest bathrooms ever make sure you pee your pants before heading downstairs.

I randomly popped into this place bc I was in the area and was craving roast pork and roast duck wonton noodle soup and am basing my 2 stars off of that dish alone. I normally get this dish at Sun Say Kai on Canal in the heart is Chinatown but didn’t feel line walking there. Boy was that a mistake. The broth had no flavor and the pork was mehhhh. But what really got me was the duck. It had not been cleaned and plucked properly and the base of the feathers where still there. Horrible and unappetizing to say the least. Plus the charged $ 9 which is pricey for this type if dish. Definitely walk into the heart of Chinatown for a much better meal.

We ordered dim sum delivery for lunch — the dim sum prices are great!(Cheaper than the usual place we get dim sum delivery from) and everything was delicious. We usually order a variety of food and then share it family style when we do Dim Sum together for lunch in the office. In addition to Dim Sum dishes we ordered Beef Chow Fun and Squid with Celery lunch special. Both were very good.

I’ve ordered delivery from them several times but its just this is definitely the last time. The food is inconsistent at best, theres always something wrong when we order from here whether it be horrendously slow delivery time or getting an incorrect order. Just this Monday I ordered via seamless for delivery and despite calling several times, they end up at the wrong address. The delivery guy argues with me telling me that my building number doesn’t exist(quite an interesting argument), so after 4 – 5 minutes of back and forth I spell out my address for them and viola! I’ll be there in 15 minutes, do take note that this is already been 90 minutes. I ended up getting a refund and went out and ate somewhere else. Nobody should have to through this sort of aggravation to get their delivery especially if the place is only 15 minutes away and its the same delivery guy that always comes to your place.

Born & raised on the outskirts of Chinatown. Wing Sing/Wing Sheun/Wing Soon/Wing Shoon no matter how many times you want to change the name or get shut down by NYCDOH the owners and staff remains the same. BAM. Recognize you, son. And food wise… makes me laugh. I’m LOLing as I write this. But truth be spoken, if you a grown ass kid visiting your fam, this is the most convenient spot to grab dim sum TOGO speficially dim sum. otherwise the closest dim sum spot would be Triple 8 Palace but that place is just like Wing Shoon, quality wise. THAP. Rice Noodle cart right out front or Mings at the tip of Canal will be the better go getter if you can do without the dim sum. OR simply, unlazy yourself which I have trouble doing sometimes, and walk to a better joint inside the heart of Chinatown. HOPSING!

My boyfriend lives a block away from Wing Shoon, he tells me that it often closes down for certain amount of time(like a month), and then reopens. That alone sounds very fishy. Yesterday, my boyfriend’s family and I had just returned from a trip and had not eaten the whole day, so we decided to go eat somewhere close to home that can fit at least 10 people. So we went to eat at Wing Shoon. When you enter the front they sell ‘to-go’ items like pork buns, and roast pork. We decided to dine in, we had ordered two different types of veggie dish, roast pork, chicken and a soup. We were served roast pork first, which was great, and tasty, full of flavor and was cut into equal sizes. Honestly you can eat this anywhere in Chinatown though. Next was the soup, this is where the horror happens. How they serve this is, they have one big bowl and they help you split it into ten mini bowls, we ordered a veggie-tofu soup, so the waiter had split each mini bowl equally with tofu and veggies, right when we were about to dig in, my boyfriend told us to stop and look at his bowl of soup. Sitting on a leaf of his Veggie was a big bright yellowish bug, and in his mother’s soup we had found a floating mosquito. They immediately took the soup back and apologized. Luckily no one had drinking the soup yet. They replaced it with something different, but after seeing that I honestly have no appetite to continue eating. In conclusion, eat here at your own risk.

I can’t even count how often I come here for lunch during the summer. It’s right across the street from the park I regularly practice. I’ve gone often with my team in groups of 10, maybe up to 15 of us and they’ve always been able to seat us right away. They serve dim sum throughout the afternoon but you also have the option to just order lunch special until 4p. m or rice dishes. The rice dishes are cheap and don’t take long to prepare at all. A roast pork on rice is a favorite for everyone and it’s never a disappointment. The service is roughly the same each time we go and impressively they’ve been able to keep up with the lot of us continuously and effectively. Tip: Speaking Cantonese tends to make things a little easier with the waiters.

For those of you who know me or have been following my reviews, authenticity matters a great deal to me. The ancient Cantonese ways that were subsequently changed by the chefs in the city of Hong Kong, and then again reinvented in much of Southern China, require so much… passion. Food: the fried whole pig(yes, that 100 pound thing by the window being chopped up as people order it) is the BESTINMANHATTANCHINATOWN. Some have argued that they have the best in the entire City of New York. All five boroughs?! I haven’t been to enough fried roast pig places to make such a bold statement yet, so I reserve decision until I have an opportunity to examine all of the evidence. The roast duck is competitive even when compared with the likes of Big Wong King, and it’s two dollars cheaper here. Dim sum is served from about 8 a.m. until about 2 p.m. daily, and what they lack in variety they make up for in freshness. The ancient ways were to wait until the freshest batch of dim sum comes out and the patron generally orders what is available. It’s still like this here: instead of making batches and batches of different things, items come out in a steady trickle, in small amounts, for customers to compete for and enjoy while fresh. Service: disclosure: the managing server has known me since grade school. Of course they’re going to treat me well. Décor: so ancient they don’t even have tablecloths on the tables. Cool.

Located on the corner of East Broadway and Rutgers, this little Chinese Restaurant offers Dim Sum for as little as $ 2 a plate(Monday through Friday only)! Atypical of dim sum service, a card with a grid on it to designate how many dishes and of what size you consumed is placed at your side and the cart comes around with steamed, baked, and braised specialties all on various sized plates. $ 2 for small plates, $ 2.50 for medium, and $ 3 for large. Dim from the carts is not bad although the selections are small compared to larger restaurants like Jing Fong. During the week, if it’s not coming from one of the rolling carts, Be prepared to pay original price. Pork buns and egg tarts are 80¢ each and are coming from the front’s pastry shelves. The food is very tasty and pretty good. The service is somewhat cordial as they were attentive but English is not their strong point. You may have to come here with someone who speaks Cantonese(or Mandarin). The menu is in English and in Chinese. Overall a wonderful experience and easy on the wallet!

If you’re planning on dining here then you’re a sucker! A real sucker because any fool who comes in here can tell immediately that this place is not customer friendly. Let’s just say that if you walk in here, they will never smile. If anything, it’s your sole responsibility to flag their attention if you’re looking for service. Personally I say, whatever man, because what really draws me in are their $ 2 dim sum special that are only offered during the weekdays. I highly recommend their large shrimp or beef noodles(w/extra soy sauce). Since it’s one of my favorite dim sum dishes, I usually order it a lot and can tell whether it’s good quality or not and at this restaurant, it’s pretty darn good! Another must try are their roast pork buns(80 cents)!! These little bad boys are damn delicious and are completely stuffed up like a Thanksgiving turkey. They are so satisfying that it taste like a meal especially if it’s paired with their coffee(80 cents). All and all, I would only suggest this place if you’re planning to take your order to go; otherwise, if you dine here, your food experience will be tainted by one of restaurant’s most basic 101 skill and that my friend is CUSTOMERSERVICE!!!
