Stopped here for lunch since you can smell them for miles. What a deal I went with the rice and lamb and went back the next day for more. The line is long as all the construction workers love the taste of the BIGBOSSES halal meat in their mouths. Yummmmm

I come to this corner cart once a while next to my school. It is always amazing. Their rice is the highlight, which contains cinnamon. The pre-flavored salad is always better than other halal cart. In the end, they do provide real gyro meat if you order lamb over rice. After all, only $ 5. Highly recommended!

I wish I had discovered these guys a month ago! The BEST $ 5(cash only!) spent on delicious food. Make it healthier by getting it over veggies as a salad. Friendly, hardworking, and fast. It takes a bit longer since they make your food on the griddle, but well worth the wait. Head over here even if you don’t work or live in this area! Tis a real treat!!!

The best halal food Ive had in NYC. Everything is so tasty and you can’t beat the price. The rice is delicious, spicy and aromatic to the right point, the chicken is tender and the salad is interesting and much better than just plain lettuce. Much better than the famous midtown cart.

Come hungry and with $ 5 in cash. This was my first experience with NYC food carts and I’m pretty impressed. So much food and super flavorful.

Definitely the best halal cart in the ues hospital area. It’s cheap and I feel like it tastes more fresh than the other options. Plus they have a weird bbq white sauce which is delicious. The line can get crazy long around 1 though so plan accordingly

Very different from the rest. From the seasoning added to the meats to the vegetables used to sautee with the meat. they added broccoli, bell pepers, olives so delicious. A carrot slaw that had some notes of sweetness to it. To the rice that was delicious. 5 dollar platter. Uhhh what a steal. You need to try this cart. I usually never get chicken but this chicken was sauteed to perfection.

Avoid going around 2pm unless you want to stand in a line two blocks long, really really good platters and sandwiches here. A huge fan of this cart and apparently the entire staff at the surrounding hospitals are as well.

I got the fish over rice and requested spicy. The yogurt sauce with the red, spicy sauce was perfect. The fish was flavorful and tender with the lettuce and tomato complementing the dish. $ 6 for a hearty portion, add $ 1 for a drink. I’ll be visiting again soon to try other menu items.

The chicken over rice tastes is more like pulled chicken slathered with bbq sauce rather than grilled spiced chicken. Not what I was expecting. Rice is delicious with hints of cinnamon though!

As I just walked along 69th Street, I came across this wonderful cart. Conspicuously placed at the corner, the concept is simple: delicious, cheap, fast savory food. And all true. It’s $ 5 in cash for the rice dishes on the menu. They have lamb or chicken over rice, with side of salad/carrots and peppers/onions. They also have gyros, and interestingly, hot dogs and fries. In any case, the chicken with rice dish was extraordinary. I’ve never tried, but if I did, this is what I envision crack cocaine to be like. I could not stop eating until the entire container was devoid of any content. I thought I tasted traces of cinnamon in the rice. And the chicken was so well-flavored. Get the dish with the white and red sauces on top. Spicy with hint of yogurty goodness.

Love this food stand. $ 5 for a huuuuuge portion of chicken and rice with some salad on the side. Ask for extra white + hot sauce! Also love that it’s so close to where we live. The lines can be longer depending on when you go(surprisingly shorter at 12:30 than at 2pm).

One of the best halal carts in NYC and definitely the best in the ‘hospital row’ area of the UES. The chicken gyro on pita is fresh with full of flavor. Have both the white & hot sauce on it! So good and it’ll cost you $ 4 …can’t beat that. They also have chicken/lamb over rice which seems to be a popular choice. They never have Falafel… I noticed there’s no deep fryer. They make only what can be cooked on a flat top. If you’re craving chicken or lamb Halal style this is the cart to go to! There’s always a line and there’s a reason. Try going after 2pm and you don’t have to wait. And the 2 guys that run it are super nice.

1. The Rice is moist and grainy 2. The Salad is great with lemon(u have to add that yourself) 3. Chicken is well seasoned and has flavor. 4. Sauces are light and not over powering. It actually enhances the flavor. 5. Eat it while it’s warm and fresh. 6. I’ve tried a lot of the food carts in NYC including halal guys and let me tell you these guys are superior.

Oh my god. I found this place while searching for cheap lunch because I’m a broke college student and was intrigued by all of the amazing reviews. I obviously had to check it out for myself. Listen, I’ve been looking for good halal carts around here for literally ages. Most of the ones near hunter charge like $ 7 for dry and gross chicken over rice. No thanks. This was the perfect blend of spicy and aromatic. I’m telling them to hold the BBQ sauce next time but I’m not even complaining too much about that. For $ 5 it’s a steal.

Take any friends who are doubters of food carts here. Absolutely delicious food that is the same every time. The guys are nice and friendly, and they make sure to pack napkins and utensils in your bag. I salivate just thinking about it. I usually order the meat over rice. Say yes to the sauces. It also comes with a lettuce based salad and some veggies. Hands down, some of the best food in the city. And so cheap!
