YUVA Threading Salon

So usually I have no problems with this salon, but today was a horrible experience. I went to get my eyebrows threaded and it hurt as usual, but after I paid and went a couple of minutes away to my job I realized my eye kept bothering me. Long story short, my brow area above my eye was bleeding and that same area had several cuts. I went back to the salon and asked for a refund and they said no.
My advice to anyone who wants to go to this salon is to check your eye very carefully after you get it done, because the employees here won’t say anything to you and still try to take your money.

The woman really doesn’t know how to thread. She did a terrible job. I had her go back and fix it and thread more, but it was even still messed up. I felt too weird to ask her to fix a third time and there was a line so I’m just going to pluck myself. This is the second time I’ve had this experience. What a joke.

Sima is wonderful. Meticulous careful and consistent, I always hope to get her when I go to Yuva for a lunch break eyebrow touch up.

Honestly they did a good job however the attitude was the worse that I’ve seen so far! I’m a tourist here for 2 months and I go to a random threading salon every week and this by far had the rudest employee! I told the lady happy new year she didn’t even answer me she just looked at me in a weird way! Never again!

Always get my eyebrows done here with Sima. She is the best l. Have been going here two years straight. Also I never have to wait they are quick.

I go here for all waxing and threading and always accommodating and helpful. Ask for Neelam!

This was my first time getting threaded and i must say i really liked the outcome. It looked so natural compared to waxing. I just wish i could’ve gotten a better arch in one of my brows. Other than that, it was good

I am not new to eyebrow threading or tinting. I would strongly recommend you DO NOT give this place a try. It is NOT worth wasting your time or money!
I no longer go to this establishment because they mess up your eyebrows (badly) (uneven, too thin, sloppy work) and there’s no point speaking to them about the terrible service… No one does anything to fix it or apologize. Instead, they blame you and give you a disingenuous shrug of their shoulders.
I’ve given this place several tries but, regret that I did!
Avoid this place!

JUST OK Job. Staff not always so friendly and not in a great hurry to assist you. I go to this location as a last resort since it’s by my job. Threading is their expertise, not massages. I got a massage there 2x and both times were not great. My 6 yr old does a better job.

Ask for Tasha! I’m sensitive when it comes to threading… she was so quick, painless and did a phenomenal job!

I dropped by Yuva in a whim, and had both threading and waxing (regular, not the chocolate) services. From the moment I walked in, the women were welcoming and sweet. They gave me options without pushing anything in particular. I should have asked the name of the technician, but she did a fantastic job all around — painless and swift — for seriously great prices!

I would give zero stars if I had the option. I have been going here for quite some time as I work in the area. Some of the technicians are better than others, but when needing to get my eyebrows done and for the price I guess exceptional is not what you should expect.
This is my first time writing a Unilocal review, but was compelled to do so as my experience today was disgusting. I had purchase a package for 5 lip/​brow threading and had a service for each left. Initially it was a gift certificate, but they use receipts now to track the services.
I go to check out after my threading and was told that the service had expired. I explained that during my last visit I was not told about the impending expiration date, otherwise I would have used sooner. The technicians working there did nothing to find a solution, they simply reiterated over and over that it was expired. I requested to speak to a manager only to have them call him as he was not present, speak to him in a language other than English in front of me, which is incredibly rude! In speaking to him over the phone he could not have been more rude and seemed to not care one bit to have an unhappy, reoccurring I might add, client.
I told him I thought he was the person who checked me out during my last visit, and said he would have told me about the expiration date. I said «I am telling you that did not happen». To which he responded «that is impossible». I stated I was extremely dissatisfied and said he would be losing a client to which he responded «that’s fine! I am not going to argue with you». Arguing was exactly what he was doing, which is beyond poor customer service to do with a client.
Needless to say, I will never return to this location. You get what you pay for and here at YUVA that is HORRIBLE customer service. They could not care less about client satisfaction. No wonder they are always empty and have resorted to handing out fliers to attract new customers… because they simply cannot keep the current ones!

I popped by Yuva between getting out of work early on Friday and happy hour to get some much needed eyebrow threading and a quick face massage. There was a little bit of a wait but nothing major. I was impressed with both of my services and the professionalism of the staff. The salon itself was an attractive loft and clean. I will definitely be back.
One more thing I liked – they allowed me to put the tip on my debit card.

I though this place was great. I have never had a bad experience with them misshaping my brows. This is also my first threading experience so I have nothing to compare it to but I thought that staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I never need to wait and I always go after work so around 6:30. I bought a groupon for 10 for 19 dollars so I think that is a pretty good price for eyebrow threading! I also can’t believe how quick they do it. in and out in under 5 minutes

I love this place! I go once a month for Brazilian wax with Tasha who does an amazing job, and she also does threads eyebrows every two weeks. She’s amazing! They also have a punch card for eyebrows and after 6 you earn a free eyebrow service. Great find, easy, cheap, & clean.

If I had to guess a number of different threading salons I have been to over the past three years, I would say… 30?
It seems like a high number. but no, — I did not change the salon every time. i had favorites, long-​term relationships, and heavy breakups. the truth is that regardless of where you move to, where you work, and who you date — you will still need to get your eyebrows threaded every week. yep.
so here is the deal — no one is perfect, and some eyebrows are darker than others; and I find it very hard to believe that you had such a bad experience here.
the salon is clean and renovated, the staff is friendly, and from my experience, the service has been consistently good. the key to a good «clean up» is to do it as precise, face, and with as little pain as possible– and I got just that.
I used to go to Yuva in FiDi back when I lived there. I was not a huge fan of the place, because it was packed most of the time, and they kept trying to sell you manicures, even though the station was not very attractive. basically it did not seemed pristine. but when you live in FiDi — you can’t be too picky about threading salon; so I still went there.
MORAL OF THE STORY: some might have had bad experience here, but encourage you to give this place a shot. you never know.
P. S. the price for an eyebrow threading is the usual $ 8, and they have a «loyalty card», which gives you your 7^th threading for free.

The girl that is normally at reception threaded my eyebrows and its the best! She gave me a slight arch and cleaned them up nicely. I don’t think I will need to be back for another month.

I usually go to the threading salon in Chelsea but I was in a rush. First, don’t got at night. The lighting is so bad that when I got home, I discovered that she missed a bunch of hairs. Plus, she shaped my brows well but it wasn’t perfect.
Again, I have to go back to the lighting, she just didn’t get any of the fine hairs so I was a little annoyed. Oh, plus, they’re pricier so you know she should have gotten everything. A no go.
