It was a bit hard to find in a complex amidst Walgreens and a random Mexican place but this place is a gem. I lived in NYC for 8 years and this cheese pizza is comparable to those I ate in my college years(albeit less greasy). Their Caesar salad has crispy bacon bits(who doesn’t love bacon???)

Grew up around the corner and spent most summers grabbing two slices every few days. Just writing this makes me wanna stop on my way home tomorrow.

Just bought 2 pepperoni slices and as soon as I opened the box, there was a cockroach inside. People told me not to go there but had to try it myself and won’t ever go in there again.

Great little home made Italian pizza and family restaurant. Owner operated by a real Sicilian, they make everything good and with love.

Tried a few slices of cheese pizza. LOVEDIT! Big thin slices with plenty of sauce and cheese. Crust needs to be a little more crispy. Will try whole pie next time.

A friend of mine grew up around this joint and raved about the meatball stromboli. Finally got around to going here(after the gym-lol). I ordered a large cheese pizza(I was alone) and got it to sit in. The guy behind the counter questioned the size choice since I was alone but I assured him that yes, I wanted a large pie. It was huge! It said 16 inches on the menu but this thing looked more like 18 inches. And one of the best pies I have had in a while. I am a big fan of Tony’s in the shopping center across the street but now they have some competition! Too bad they don’t have wine or I would go for dinner every weekend. Maybe we can byob. I will ask. Anyway the crust was perfect. Nice and crispy, pizza was definately NY style and not greasty. Great sauce! This might be my new favorite next to Nicola’s in Rehoboth.

This is definitely the best pizza in Newark. Trust me, I have tried them all. Homemade dough and sauce which are both delicious. The only topping I get is Italian sausage, and theirs is the best I have found in the area. I also like that they have a real oven as oppose to the roller style ovens. I believe the owners are husband and wife and one of them is always there to ensure quality and friendly service. The not so great location in Brookside makes this place the best kept secret in Newark.

All the recent talk about Philly pizza and NYC pizza has me wondering. What about Deleware Pizza? Ha ha only joshing! Does Deleware even have a staple food? Im not trying to be an ass, is there one? I mean besides Grotto, which is a Deleware staple, but I gladly overlook that it sits in the shopping center where I work, in lieu of making the 15 min round trip to Agostinos. It took me a few months of trial and error, but I have deemed Agostinos, the best Pizza in Newark(within a 15 min Radius of where I work). Its a thin pie, with real mozzerella, a great crust and a perfect sauce, both in flavor and amount used. The price is right as well. $ 8 for a small pie and 16oz soda. What will get me 2 slices at Grotto, will get me 2 meals at Agostinos. Plus its better quality. They are always incredibly and sincerely friendly there and its a positive experience from beginning to end. Sadly, after finding the perfect place for pizza, I have been transfered to the New Castle location at work! Back to the Pizza Pie Chart, drawing board, where the majority is crap and the super thin slice represents a feasable lunch choice. Ill keep you posted.
