Best taco in town. Service was very good. Even though there’s usually a long line during lunch hrs, the food is totally worth the wait. Taco Tuesday is bomb. Complimentary chips and salsa is awesome. Oh did i mention they had the best tacos?

Great prices. It is a grocery store/restaurant, so don’t expect anything fancy but the food is good and prices are low.

They seems busy enough so I was super excited to give them a try. We ordered a ham and egg breakfast burrito added cheese $ 5.50 plus $.50 for the cheese. Super expensive in my opinion for the size of said burrito. The shredded beef taco was good it was a crispy taco form just like good ol’ SD. The taco was $ 2.50 and two tamales(one chicken/one pork) I don’t know what the helpers were talking about but purchases at 9:30am and they were HECKA dry!!! The masa was not smooth and dating like other tamale shops I have had tamales at and I was not a fan. Maybe I got them on an off day but man… No Bueno. The good was the nice and full salsa bar with free chips! Nice touch! The people were friendly and they were very busy the whole time we were waiting. I guess I will give them another try but do not think I will be getting any more tamales from this joint… Sad face

Bought a dozen corn tortillas for $ 0.37 give or take a penny. Restaurants charge that for 1 tortilla.(Making that up) They have a nice hot food café inside their mini market. Nice friendly place for a casual lunch.

Barba coach burrito was delicious, though in the future I would skip the unmelted possibly American cheese. chips & salsa bar is complimentary, but not great. the green was ok, probably my fave of the 3 I tried, but still only a 3⁄5. all in all, I would definitely eat here again. I’d like to try their breakfast items, if I can get there at a decent time.

Only place I go for pozole! The best!!! It’s really hard to find good pozole outside of my family & this is it! Their other dishes are good as well, they have everything you expect from a taqueria. It’s also a mini market so you could get really anything you’d want. The staff is always extra friendly. It’s a family establishment and they make you feel welcome. I always try to go at least twice a month. It does get busy so calling ahead is smart if you don’t like waiting.

There food is very good. But theres this one older skinny women that works there that was extremely rude to me. My experience was great until she threw attitude for no reason and I did not enjoy my customer experience from her. Hope she reads this.

Pork Tamales — so good an filling! Shrimp tacos — so good, I need to come every Friday for this! Carne Asada tacos — alright, heffy portion of beef! Salsa bar — free pico and salsa with chips! Pretty spicy so watch out! Mini Mexican supermarket/Taqueria at the perfect prices! There are outdoor seating to enjoy during your lunch break… Lots of booths inside as well

5 stars because not only is the food good the service is great! My family favorites would be the tamales, bean & cheese burritos, chicken super burritos, enchiladas, rice, beans, and of course the tortillas. You really can’t go wrong here everything is fresh and made to order.

I gotta give it to this place, gots to show props for servicing this hood with Mexican treats and staples way longer than Mi Pueblo ever had. Since 1972 to be exact. Old school, right?! It is a tiny grocery store with a deli counter that also does limited taqueria offerings. Tortillas are crazy fresh here so if you’re doing any Mexican themed cooking, I say get your ingredients here. I come here to load up before tail-gating. I remember picking up some tamales here way back for a family Christmas. Locals line for this stuff like Americans line up at Honey Baked during the holidays. Just tried some taqueria action and liked what I had. Tried the Pork Tamale and it was really soulful. I actually like it fresh out of their steamer better than taking it home and reheating it. It is much more supple and meltingly that way. Trust me. Also tried a taco with barbacoa and it was quite legit. They may have 2 sizes of tacos and they automatically gave me the larger version at $ 2.50 per. It is double the weight of a taco truck taco, so value is still there. The meat is really tender without it being soupy. Great beef flavor and when topped with cilantro and onion, just keeps it classic. And again, their tortillas are about as good as you will be able to find. It is special. The space can get quite chaotic though, as a massive line can form because grocery patrons are in the same line as taqueria customers and deli customers. If you are eating there, grab your drink before ordering, so they can tally it up in one smooth transaction. Several people went looking for drinks to only hold up the line. My dumb ass included.

Real Rating: 4.5 stars Mexico Tortilla Factory & Delicatessen(MTFD) is absolutely and utterly amazing in every way. This is my kind of joint! It appears to be family owned which is something I love and support. Just an FYI, the deli is located inside a convenience store so don’t get thrown off when you walk through the door. SERVICE: Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. The two girls working the cash register were SO awesome, patient and friendly. I can’t say enough about how nice and welcoming they were. Made us feel right at home! CHILICOLORADOTACO ~ 4 stars: If you’ve ever dipped a tortilla in your chili colorado then you know what’s up. This taco is the same experience. Great depth of flavor. The beef chunks are moist and tender. Cooked really well. CHILIVERDETACO ~ 3 stars: Good but not great. I’d pass on these next time. CARNEASADATACO ~ 3 stars: I call Carne Asada Tacos«Old Faithful» for two reasons. 1) It’s a great way to see if a Mexican joint is any good. Let’s be serious, if they can’t get the carne asada right, they should close up shop! 2) It never really sucks, no matter how bad it is… at least that’s my experience. Like the chili verde tacos — good, not great. CHILAQUILES ~ 5 stars: STOPTHEPRESS! Man, these were amazing. Excellent flavor, gooey cheese and the chips stayed crispy. The sauce they used(most likely homemade) was awesome. Served with rice and beans… FYI, their beans are out of this world! MTF&D has a salsa bar that’s pretty damn good. They have this homemade chipotle aioli-type sauce that went so well with everything. It was creamy, had good heat and a nice smokey flavor. If you’re looking for a great place to grab breakfast or lunch, check this place out. They have a great breakfast menu too lined with burritos, huevos rancheros and a ton of other items. Come here hungry, appreciate the service, love the food, leave full!

Food was a 3 but service was a 5. The owner makes you feel right at home here in this market/taqueria combo. First thing I got was the Enchilada plate($ 7.99) with shredded beef. The enchilada sauce tasted canned(with no alterations) and the cheese wasn’t completely melted. My favorite enchiladas are still from La Senaida in Hayward. Second thing I got was the Super Nachos with barbacoa. They accidentally gave me more shredded beef instead which I was initially disappointed about but they actually gave a LOT of meat, the most I’ve ever had on nachos. I liked everything on it – the guac, sour cream, salsa, the melted cheese. Complimentary chip and salsa bar are available with some good variety. There’s one dark red salsa that is the hottest I’ve had at any Mexican place. I do like a challenge. Parking is available on the street and in the lot behind the place. Even though it’s half market, I wouldn’t come here just for that. It’s mostly processed and shelf-stable items, suitable if you needed a 3′ bag of tortilla chips.

Looking for authentic no-frills Mexican food in the area? This is the place! Not only can you grab a good bite to eat, but you can also shop for fresh tortilla chips, tortillas, salsas, and other Hispanic foods while you’re there. It’s part grocery store, part eatery. My first time there, so I ordered a super chicken burrito minus the sour cream for $ 6.99.The chips and salsa at the bar tasted so fresh, and complemented the burrito very well. I look forward to checking out the breakfast options here(huevos rancheros are calling my name!), and grabbing some fresh tortillas and chips on my next visit!

Averaging out the 5 stars for their tamales and 3 stars for all other food. We came to order tamales for Christmas at the recommendation of one that would know good tamales and they didn’t disappoint. We were able to sample the tamales and ordered other dishes to try before placing our holiday order. The tamales were the standout of all. Just the right amount of masa and tasty fillings. When the day and time came to pick up our order they weren’t ready. Mr. S was patient and the sweet woman that helped him was apologetic and kind. They were overwhelmed by the lines of folks that had orders and had shut down the kitchen except to fulfill all the promised tamale orders. Mr. S waited an additional hour during the holiday rush but he brought home a couple of dozen outstanding tamales for our Christmas feast. Not worth the drive for a meal but if tamales are what you want, this is the place.

I felt as though I should update my review since my first review was written 3 years ago and was not very in depth and descriptive. Mexico Tortilla Factory in my opinion was a hidden gem, I happened to stumble across it maybe 4 – 5 years ago while looking for a good Mexican restaurant and tamales in the Fremont/Newark area. They are located in Newark on Thornton Ave. in an area that didn’t have many places such as restaurants or anything to choose from but now they are a growing area. This place serves as a small grocery store, deli, factory and restaurant all in one. They actually do make their own chips, tortillas, masa and such in the back of the place and if you so happen to need to go to the restroom you can walk through the«factory» and get a first hand look at how everything is done and it’s so cool. They are definitely one of a kind and somewhat of a hole in the wall. The food here is absolutely delicious!!! It’s super fresh and it’s authentic Mexican food, no other place can compare. I have tried a variety of items from here such as super burritos, nachos and crispy tacos and they were all very good. They are most famous for their signature pork tamales which are sooo good and when I’m craving a good tamale I come here but the dish I absolutely love and can’t get enough of are their enchiladas. I can eat their enchiladas w/rice and beans everyday and not get tired of it. Their enchilada sauce is a one of a kind and it has somewhat of a kick to it, it’s a nice bright red color and full of flavor. Their rice and refried beans are yummy as well. I have NEVER had a bad meal here and I can guarantee nobody will. Not only is the food yummy but the atmosphere is great, customer service is great and they have very reasonable prices. Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant ever!!!

On Saturday, 9÷13÷14, I decided to hit up Tortilla Factory for some delicious tacos. I had an appointment at the Toyota dealership for my car to be serviced. I stopped by Tortilla Factory on my way home. Atmosphere: Refer to my previous review. Food: I ordered 3 tacos, 1 soft taco chile verde, 1 soft taco carnitas and 1 crispy taco shredded beef with lettuce and white cheese. The tacos were absolutely delicious! It was an amazing first cheat meal of the day. The chile verde pork was very tender and tasty. The green chile verde sauce tasted really good. The carnitas soft taco is one of my favorites. The carnitas always tastes really good and fresh. The carnitas taco consisted of pico de galo and beans. The shredded beef taco definitely hit the spot. The shredded beef was loaded with flavor and tasted so so good! I also like Tortilla Facotry’s Monterey Jack cheese. It has a nice texture and taste to it. Tortilla Factory’s meats are hands down the best in my opinion. Service: The younger girl that took my order was very nice. I received my food a few minutes after I sat down. The service is always excellent here. Overall: Tortilla Factory is one of the best Mexican food places in the bay area if not the best in general. I’ve never had a bad experience here. They consistently serve fresh, delicious, authentic Mexican food. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. This is my favorite Mexican food spot to hit up!
