Not a bad spot. A few blocks from Rutgers Newark. Good amount of parking in the area. If you’re in the area I’d recommend stopping there. The VIP area we sat in had barely any lighting. Not bad but not great.

Why do you pay an entrance fee? This isn’t an upscale lounge in NYC-strike one Made reservations for a specific time and there were no reserved seats. Instead they actually put us in the hallway seating going to the bathroom-strike two. This place is hood af and I didn’t bring my Bullet proof vest… forecast in this place is partly cloudy with a high chance of drive by-strike three. If you ever wondered what it was like to visit a prison yard than this is the place for you

Nujoom is by far one of the worst hookah spots I have ever been to. I expected so much more from the experience because I had heard so many good things about it, but I was very disappointed. The venue itself was very plain and dark. It was seriously lacking in atmosphere. Everything is all black and there is nothing fancy about this place; the light show was pathetic. I don’t know about anyone else, but when I go to a lounge I like for there to be a certain mood. The only mood I got from this place was tacky and FAR from classy. The prices are cheap but so is everything else about this spot, including some of the people that this spot attracts. When I was there a fight broke out, which was quickly handled by security, but the experience definitely left me feeling unsafe. The hookah tasted fine and the DJ did his job, but my friends and I were more than happy to leave once the hookah died down in an HOUR. Other spots usually keep the hookah going longer, but considering how bad the atmosphere was, I was more than happy to leave anyway. If they did a little remodeling and upped their standards, I might consider going back. Until then, I’m staying far far away.

If I can give it no stars, I would. This is THEWORST spot to go to. This staff is so unprofessional and not accommodating to their customers that I do not feel safe or welcomed into this establishment. It’s very ghetto and improper, the staff does not get involved when there are fights or anything going on. I witnessed a fight tonight and staff nor anyone tried to help the girls getting jumped by 7 other girls. These poor girls had to fend for themselves. This place is completely unprofessional and most of their clientele are trashy and hoodlums. Stay away!!!

Never been to a BYOB lounge establishment so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I’m still relatively new to the Newark area and considering the towns bad reputation I had very low expectations for this place. Their is a cover charge and if you are with a party of more than 2 – 3 people it’s advisable to call up and have your name added to the list otherwise you may be turned away as the crowd increases. It a small venue with a decent casual dress code and one of the few places open past 1am in newark. My only complaint is the single restroom that leads to a lengthy wait time.

Ummmm… where do I begin. The place is in Newark ‘nough said… my friends an I didn’t know you needed to reserve a booth but when we got there the door men where accommodating to letting us in. It is a BYOB so that’s a plus you buy chasers and you choose flavors. The flavors were good and enjoyable. The vibes however was extremely chill. Guys danced more then the girls. It’s a little hood in the hookah spot

When I lived in Newark I used to come here all the time. The first great thing about this place is that it is BYOB!!! Buy a bottle before you come and you can get the mixers at the hookah lounge. I know some nights they have a dj, and it gets pretty serious on the dance floor. The new owner came in and completely renovated the place, and it looks much better. I have been to hookah lounges in many states and this is still my favorite one. Anytime I’m in Jersey and have some free time I definitely stop by for a little hookah.

This place is under new management since I believe May 2013. Things run a bit differently now. After 2 recent visits and disappointing service I really do miss the old owners and how they ran the place.

The worse! First of all i called this place to get information as to where they are located, what type of music they play that night, dress code, and cover… I get all that info I asked for, but the guy(supposedly the owner) didn’t mention anything about reservations being necessary. So my friends and I bought bottles since its BYO and when we get there they said they go by reservation… so after complaining they let us in. THISPLACEISHOT! They had a factory fan on the dance floor ! I went to the counter to order a hookah and the guy behind the counter directs me to the guy outside collecting money… like really??? What r u doing behind the register? So I went out to the guy at the door and he looks at me puzzled as i asked for a hookah! They are very disorganized !!! If you have more than 2 people at your small table they expect you to purchase another hookah… mind you… only 3 out of 4 of us were smoking… so as for BYO we brought a bottle of vodka and the man at the door said we can’t bring in any juices or such since they sell it inside… fine…our group drinks vodka with seltzer water… he didn’t let us bring it in and they didn’t sell them inside so we were stuck choosing the ¼ pint of juices that they sold for $ 2! HORRIBLEVENUE!

Great shisha and a real nice friendly environment… at 22.00 the music cranked up little too loud for comfort and I decided to leave but if I’d brought in a few beers and been with a group of fiends this wouldn’t have bothered me at all… Definitely worth going back to!!!

Great place for college students on a budget and it’s a Byob. It’s not super glamorous but it works

Cool little spot. I will try it again now that I know its BYOB. I been to a few places for Hookah and the taste was just a bit off when I came here. However, it was a fun date and the dj was on point.

I have frequented this place Hookah in Newark, you would think there would be more of these places with the new hookah craze that has ensued The hookah place sits not too far from Newark’s little art center on Halsey st Now the décor I believe they wanted to get the Whole Middle eastern them. kind of all over the place but they are trying have to give them that So I tried going there being that I work in the area during LUNCH time to get my HOOKAH action on. To find out they do not open till 5pm. So I came back on a Friday night was really empty I got there at 7pm and all the table had the chairs on top of them. I began to put the chairs down. then I asked the Owner I believe him to be the owner? what time do you open he said 5pm. Looks like they just opened up to me was dark with no one but me and him there The good part I like is that the Owner would let me play iPod in there. Then people would randomly come in and put their iPods. pretty interesting. and its BYOB. the closest liquor store is probably @ United liquors 362 Washington Street. The hookah was great they guy was attentive kept replacing the coal the two times I have been there I have brought the blue mist. I end up leaving at about 10pm and usually there is a DJ There were some other patrons there and they put their iPod on and where«rapping» to some really good bhangra rap. They even went to their car and offered me some vodka. Really friendly crowd! setting up. I believe I might get more crowded and its open late. I even ended up buying my own hookah from this guy carrying case, hookah, and blue mist 50 bucks can’t beat that’s the blue mist is $ 20.00+++ on its own.

Having lived in the Middle East for a while, I’ve been desperately searching for a Hookah bar around the Tri-state area that can match the quality that I got used to. I can now say that the search is over. Nujoom is the real deal. But not only that, the staff is also really nice, the Dj was amazing and it was all ridiculously cheap! Nujoom is not just a Hookah bar. It is THE Hookah bar. Thank god Unilocal led me to it.

Drinks and Hookah. BYO. What more can you ask for! Also, a great place if you want to have a party — you can rent the tented corner area. This pace is really chill.
