Beer is great. Big Sam Adams cups, served frosted. But food sucks. 5 stars for the beer 1 star for the food. Average equals 3, so get the beer.

The bartender, Pablo, was a sweetheart but it was hard for him to overcome the establishment’s deficiencies. All the tables were dirty and still had people’s styrofoam plates and dirty glasses. Service was slow. The chili was canned and disgusting. The beer selection, limited. Oh, when will airport food get decent?

Saelections of Samuel Adams beer. Limited selection of other alcholic drinks. The nachos Grande made with canned ingredients: liquid cheese, mystery meet, and something remotely like sour cream. You must supply a credit card before being served. This restaurant is not up to the quality one expects from Samuel Adams beer.

Beers will run you between $ 6 – 9(pretty average for airport prices. I like to start by acknowledging their great beer, wine & cocktail selection. However, I’m afraid to admit that the food is pretty terrible… I stopped by hoping to get some gourmet bar food but all I got was just that; bar food — no frills. I ordered the chicken wings which looked like were sitting in a heating lamp for hour an my bf ordered the chicken-mozzarella Panini which was subpar. Word of advise, grab a bite to eat elsewhere and order your self a nice round of Samuel Adams right before your flight. They do beer well. I’ll leave it at that. buen provecho, Leilani

They have a good variety Sam Adams beers on tap, so that’s good. But the women behind the counter were lazy and had a TON of attitude. A couple TVs, nothing special.

Heed the warnings. More choices of beer than other spots but the service is awful. If Sam were still alive he would tar and feather these people.

I visited this establishment on June 29, 2014. We had a long layover between flights and were excited to see the Samuel Adams Brew Club. It was a Sunday so they weren’t scheduled to open until 12:00 noon. One of the employees came at 12:00 to open up which maybe should have been a clue that things would go bad. The doors did not officially open until 12:15 pm when the second employee arrived. They explained that they could not open without both of them being there. We took seats at the bar but both employees continued to set up for the day. We ordered wine — Merlot and Pinot Grigio. As we were drinking our wine we noticed several fruit flies flying around and my mother noticed that the counter was sticky. About halfway through the glass I saw a particle floating in my Merlot. My mother saw an oily substance in her Pinot Grigio. I was able to fish out the particle. It looked like a very small bug but it was hard to tell. I was able to smear it on my napkin so I believe it was a living thing. After that I was nervous so I inspected my glass further and saw about 8 more particles floating at the bottom. They were hard to see at first because of the wine’s dark color. We both alerted the bartender and she immediately took our glasses and poured new ones. I was surprised that she did not inspect further — it was as if she was not surprised that something was in the glasses. She then began to scold us about drinking the wine down then waiting to tell her something was wrong — as if I’d drink contaminated wine to «get over» — and she further explained that they had fruit flies so we had to pay attention. The new glasses had the same issue(s). I noticed that the wine bottles had pouring spouts attached and I suspect they were dirty. We tried to reason with her but to no avail. She seemed to be very worried about having to account for what she’d poured and what would happen to her if we were not charged for the bad wine. She offered us draft Miller Lite and were told we would not be charged for the wine. We ended up paying $ 7.50 plus tax for one of the 20 oz beers. In my opinion, the bartender should have been more concerned with the cleanliness of the establishment and the possibility of making customers sick. I did not order food but I did see the other employee(non-bartender) bring out soup in a plastic container and reheat it for serving. I was actually surprised to encounter this level of uncleanliness in a large international airport. Very disappointing.

So basically airports suck. Right? Jam packed full of fast food outlets, annoyed people waiting for delayed flights and endless security checks making you long for the days of the glamorous and glory days of the jet-set lifestyle. But at Newark I genuinely am usually pleased to have a spare hour in which to sink a pint in the Sam Adams bar. Ok so the food is probably worth passing on unless you want a microwaved sandwich for $ 10 but their selection of craft beers makes it a winner compared to other places like the Heineken bar. Stocking regular Sam, Cherry Wheat(my fave) a couple of Sams specials and a rotating seasonal ale dependent on the time of year, it’s a winner to kill some time and chat with other beer fans at the bar.

Wow. Gotta trust Unilocal reviewers! We walked by this restaurant and the wonderful aroma of newly pressed panini wafted through the air… We wanted to try it! I looked on Unilocal and the reviews were horrible. Nah. Maybe it was bad beer. We don’t drink beer, so we tried decided to go with our nostrils and ventured in. Waited at the front. No one looked at us. We chose a table and sat down. The table next to ours was recently vacated. The server came up to the table, and removed the garbage. No wipe down. Oops. Someone else sits down. Wow. Waited for someone to take our order. I watched a dude walk back to his table with his own beer. I figured I needed to go to the bar to order. Sigh. Ordered a panini and nacho grande and the server asked if I wanted to pay now or open a tab. I opted to pay now. He gave me change in all ones.(Hoping for a TIP?) Thank GOD he gave me a receipt. Waited a few minutes, and a server tells: TURKEYCLUB! I see her and wave her down. She places TWO paninis down. We tell her we only ordered one and still had nachos coming, right? Panini: YUCK. They pressed the lettuce and tomato into the hot sandwich. Wilted lettuce and hot tomatoes. Tasteless… Even with bacon in it. Nachos Grande. We received a plate with chips and lots of fake processed melted cheese. Then they gave us three small containers of salsa, jalapeño and sour cream. The sour cream looked like it was on the tail end of growing mold. When the guy delivers the nachos, he tells me to pay at the bar before I leave. HUH? I show him my receipt and he says: «Oh. Ok. I forgot.»(REALLY!?!) I just paid you ten minutes ago! We peer at the nachos and realize that there isn’t any chili on it. Sigh. BACK to the counter with receipt in hand to point out that we were missing chili. NICE. The best tasting thing in the joint was my chili in a bowl. Sigh. I’m still hungry!

Fairly similar experience as compared to the Heineken Lounge further up the concourse. While there are ostensibly more craft brews to choose from here, a lot of them were out when I stopped by, and the food offerings weren’t at all inspiring. One of the few good points about this place is that it’s at the far end of this section of the terminal and therefore feels spacious because it doesn’t get as much foot traffic. I hate to say this, but If you’re in this section of the terminal and don’t have the time to explore other sections where there might be better offerings, then [shudder] McDonalds might be your best option for food. If you don’t mind settling for whatever drinks they have on tap, then, by all means, avoid those crowds in the gate areas and drown your time away with an glass or two.

It’s an airport bar so things like high prices, crappy food and less than stellar service are implied. Where these guys really lacked was that there was no hot food, only pre-packaged food like chips and other snack food. So there was really nothing good to enjoy my over priced glass of Sam Adams with and that, my friends is what truly sucks about this bar. I will say that this bar was right next to my gate and when my flight was delayed, guess where I went to spend some quality time? 5 stars for convenience in this one case.
When I sat down here, the Bartender was nice and poured me a drink. I ordered one of the panninis that were on the menu and ate the whole thing. It taste like it was from the fridge and just warmed up, but was relatively fresh. Definitely not the best experience and they could do better if they had their own kitchen.

I never expect airport food to be good anymore… and yet this place STILL succeeded in being worse than the worst airport dining experience I have ever had(but really close in the running with Taste of Prime at the Delta terminal at La Guardia). The service was terrible and unrealistically slow. And no one who worked there knew how to split a check on two credit cards. Server training 101. They were out of everything on their menu except for the turkey sandwich. Which was, of course, dry and flavorless. The beer cost an arm and a leg. Total bill for two people with two sandwiches and six beers? $ 80.00(without the tip) Avoid!

Not good. The place was a filthy mess, and food is pre-made sandwiches from a refrigerated display. The bartender was rude, and rushed all of the patrons. When I couldn’t understand what she was saying(due to a thick accent) she laughed at me. She kept pushing me for payment even though I had a tab open. The establishment is open until 9pm, but when other patrons walked in at 8:40pm she blurted that the bar was closed and they would have to go somewhere else. At 8:45 they mopped the floor with some smelly mop and boxed around my carry-on. If I’m ever in this terminal again, I won’t be stopping here. By far the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long long time.

This place had a better selection of beers than the Heineken lounge down the hall. On top of it all, the bartender was extremely friendly and bought me a bag of chips(I watched her pay with cash from her tips). Thanks lady!

We had an awful experience here. We couldn’t get served for the life of us. Do yourself a favor and ass this pub on by and head to Heinekin bar down the concourse.
