The short: high-priced tea My aunt and I decided on a sit-down and had sometrouble browsing the menu. There are so many drink items and food items that it’s quite overwhelming. Do I want a meal? Or a snack? Or shaved ice? A hot drink or a cold drink? As I’m reading the menu, I notice in fine print at the bottom that all sit-in diners must buy something or a $ 4 charge will be added. Well, then… I better decide on something. I decided on a passion fruit tea black tea. My aunt asked some questions about their boba milk tea and found out that artificial creamer is used instead of real milk. She ended up ordering some tea with boba on the side(an interesting combo, I know). My tea came in a cute pot and cup and when I drank out of it, it was more sweet that I would like though acceptable. Then I remembered that I asked for 50%. If this is 50%, what’s 100%? I shuddered at the thought. Tea Station is nice hang out spot(a guy was playing guitar outside) and my aunt and I were savoring our moments together as she had a flight back home the next day. This place is open until midnight, which was beneficial in our case. There was a 15% discount on drinks(to celebrate the anniversary?), which made the price more reasonable. However, the price of $ 5(at full price) for one tea with no refill felt extravagant. Plus a tip for service? Sorry, I’ll be looking out for other casual hang out spots without the price tag. A nice bonus: free wi-fi!

Coconut milk tea with mocha jelly, 50% sweet. I gagged from the overwhelming sweetness. Blech! The mocha jelly was tangy… almost sour. What a waste

I am from out of town but every time I’m here visiting family I make a point to stop here for dessert. Drinks are delicious and snacks are satisfying. Their green tea noodle stew was bit bland. My favorite is their warm taro soup. Staff is very friendly. Perfect place to hang with friends.

I really like this boba shop. I usually see a lot of people here — that must mean it’s good right? I like that you can customize your drink’s sweet level, and I always splurge and get some egg pudding too. Yummy! The tea itself is good quality here and they brew it just right. I haven’t noticed them ever using any artificial powders in my drinks. My drink comes out pretty quickly and the service is good. I haven’t tried the food yet, but it does smell good when I see someone’s food being brought out.

Deliciousness! Service is pretty good too! Staff is young and smiling… no grumpies here! We had the popcorn chicken, the beef stew soup with green tea noodles, and the pork stew rice plate. Everything was delicious… I especially enjoyed the green tea noodles. Flavor wasn’t strong, but just a hint of tea. We ordered just the bubble green milk tea and it was super fresh. I think they use real milk! It’s so fresh and tastes like sugar, milk, and tea! We got 50% sugar and less ice. Perfection in a cup. Btw, how awesome is their to go container!!!

Came here with my daughter for boba tea. She ordered peach and I ordered taro. After placing our order, we sat and waited. We noticed more customers came in and also placed their orders. A few mins later they started calling numbers. I took a look at my number and noticed that they had called the numbers after ours. I then went up to the counter and asked them why they haven’t called my number. The guy behind the counter told me that they are making it and will soon come up. I went back to the table and waited with my daughter. 10 mins later the server came up to me and asked me for my receipt. He then apologized for having us wait for so long and assured me that our order was coming up. After getting our teas. I thanked them and we walked out. Their teas were good, but it’s over priced. 11.50 for 2 teas. Their service obviously needs improvement!

Came in here for a late night boba craving with my girlfriend The service was ok. Ordered lychee jelly ice and a mango jelly lychee. Both with boba. 10 minutes after ordering the cashier apologized and told me that he only had enough boba for one drink. So I had to change my toppings. The wait time was about 15 minutes for 2 drinks. Overall the drink was delicious. Sweet and flavorful. In my opinion I would come here once in a while because of the price. It was 11.50 for only 2 drinks. Rather go to another place for boba.

I would rate this place about 3.5 stars. I felt like snacking, so i thought I drop by Tea Station and try their night market Taiwanese sausage and spicy fried chicken. After placing my orders for those two appetizers, it only took about 5 minutes. The sausage was really good. My 3 year old really liked it as well, just like the ones in Taiwan. But $ 6.50 for 3 sausage skewers seems pricey, which is about $ 2.33 each, what do you think? The spicy fried chicken was a little better then okay. It was also $ 6.50. I do like the sweet potato batter they used on frying the chicken. It would of been nice to have some basil with them too. My total for these two appetizers was $ 14.24 with tax.

It’s been almost 2 years since my last review of Tea Station; I’ve had A LOT of boba since then(they don’t call me the Boba Queen for nothing) and an array of new boba spots have opened within the two years as well. A lot has changed– especially my view on Tea Station. My thoughts now? WAYTOOEXPENSIVE!!! A regular Tapioca Milk Green Tea is almost $ 6. Say whaaatttt?! I can get 2 drinks at Tea Island in Fremont for that kind of money. The customer service is MEH and the service is slow. Last time I went in on a weekday afternoon, it took almost 10 minutes to get my drink when the restaurant was only half full and only 2 other people were ahead of me in the to-go line. BUT what really bothered me was when I called in and came to pay and pick up my drink, I was told I couldn’t use my full stamp card to get my drink free because I didn’t mention it on the phone. His excuse? He already punched in my drink and couldn’t void it… LIAR. So what do they do if someone sitting in changes their mind on their order at the last minute? It can’t be voided? His reasoning and explanation made no sense, but the drink took so long(even though I ordered ahead to avoid this) that I just paid and left. Honestly, there are so many other better places that have friendly staff and much more reasonable prices. Yes, the tea is still great and the pearls are always consistent, but for the money, it’s just not worth it anymore. I recommend Fantasia, located in Lions if you’re in this plaza. A LOT cheaper for about the same quality.

This is a go to place for tea and boba drinks, the reason being is that it opens late at night. However word of warning it does get a bit crowded and rowdy at night. Should prepare for a bit of a wait sometimes. Minus one star is because the service can be a bit spotty. Either very good or very bad. Not sure who does the training here.

tea drinks — pretty good tapioca pearls — perfectly cooked, but very sweet grass jelly — good. Doesn’t this stuff come in a can anyways? yam balls — not fully cooked, doughy center. Avoid. positives: open late, friendly to single diners negatives: Their takeout service is a hot mess. The food looks very appealing, but I always visit after having dined elsewhere nearby.

The top choice here is the beef stew w green tea noodles. The beef loosely came apart when you bite in and the noodles were delicious. I ordered the pecan coffee and I was surprised it was just pecan syrup with a cup of coffee. The pecan was very subtle. It wasn’t infused within the coffee. Other stuff that was ok… popcorn chicken, takoyaki, and shredded pork over rice.

Maybe it’s the company I’m with but I’ve started to enjoy tea station more, the more i go. Whenever we need a late night boba and chill, tea station never fails to add up. It is the perfect spot for catching up with friends, grabbing a quick bite, or studying til the last tea drop. The formula for a good time is simple: order a variety of snack foods to share from the attractive array of soft appetizers and pair them with a hot or cold drank, I always tend to crave their hot taro milk tea+ bobaaaz, and you are set for a night of wondrous, chatty, tea-rful, fried-food paradise, bliss. I recommend the takoyaki, tea flavored dumplings, and the matcha ice cream milk green tea if you’re feeling something more than a sip. –1 star for the steep prices. but it is made up for by the sweet communal atmosphere of getting things done. however, it makes ya wanna spend dollas. so, 4 stars still.

A great range of teas to drink and food if you’re hungry. However, their strawberry shaves ice was extremely disappointing. I thought that it would be like the Asian shaved ice or snow, but it was regular shaved ice with a bit of condensed milk and a lot of regular store bought strawberry jam on top and on the sides are a few slices of strawberry. For the price, it was worth it but for the taste it was definitely not worth it. It is definitely something that I recommend splitting with at least 4 – 5 people. I might go back just to try their food but generally the drinks(I tried some of my friends) were not that good at all.

I haven’t been back home in the Bay in a while and my cousins and I were craving milk teas and boba. We went to a different tea place first seeing as this didn’t pop up on Unilocal close enough to me, but the other place didn’t even have Boba in stock(granted it was the Saturday right after Christmas). Thanks, Tea Station, for having boba along with fast and friendly service even late at night! Shout out to Raymond and the night team on 12⁄26 for putting up with the huge amount of people, but taking the time to make me feel right at home! TIP: Per usual, there were tons of people sitting down at the tables. Fortunately for us, we were ordering to go drinks!(Be sure to grab a table if you get a chance to while inside if you’re ordering in!)

My friends and I have been in a boba rut and we always go to the same place just because it is right next to our house. So we decided to try a different place a little farther than usual. Now don’t get me wrong, the drinks are good here, nothing too special though. It tasted similar, it not slightly better than the one by my house. However, the real star of this place is the food. I was so surprised at how yummy the food smelled and looked. I would probably come back here for just the food. The service is a little rude though, maybe it is the language barrier, but overall it wasn’t too bad.

Came in on a rainy day with a friend, service was prompt and welcoming. Ordered the wonton w/tea flavored noodles and the honey milk green tea w/boba topping. As usual, the drink was delicious as they’ve the best boba! Firm and chewy, yet sweet. The wontons seem a bit small compared to other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to and I could’ve done w/o the vegetables. They had sprouts and cabbage in the soup had some crunch to it and I just decided to eat those since I was paying for it later on. Overall still one of my favorite stops to go to out in Newark!

Came in on a Sunday even because my brother always brings me back to go orders and I wanted to try it for myself– and I was craving beef stew. The to go he gets me are usually delicioussss and I love the pickeled vegetable and green tea noodles. So me, being kinda fat, I ordered the m01 with the intention if getting a stew order to go– so I can enjoy it at home. The food took quite a while, my boyfriend got his noodle soup beforeI got my stew. It had really good flavors, generous portion of rice and Im glad there were 3 little side dishes. The girl sitting next to me got the same thing but ate half, I ate the whole thing because I have no self-control. When I took home my to go order it wasnt the same as the one that my brother usually brings home– but Im pretty sure I said pu err beef noodle soup to go? Since I love the to go orders he always gets I will def come back to make sure I say it right. The portions here(can) last 2 meals and I think thats great!

Tea Station in Newark. Recently start coming back to Fremont/Newark area due to new job, had high expectation on all these new Chinese/Taiwanese style places. However, Tea Station was somewhat a disappointment considered there are so many different options in the area now. I was only there for a boba drink, so this review does not apply on their food. Price/Value: 1⁄5 I normally don’t start my review on the pricing, but I must emphasis how expensive Tea Station is, at least for the drink. I ordered a small size(Probably 16 ounces) Earl Grey Milk Tea with Boba… It ringed up $ 5.75. Just FYI, the large size add $ 1.25. so yes a large size will cost me $ 7.00. It is way more expensive than some of the places I visit recently like ShareTea in San Mateo, ChaTime in Foster City, TeaTop in San Jose, Super Que in Fremont and many many Starbucks. For that price… I was hoping the tea better blow my mind! Drink: 3⁄5 For $ 5.75, I was expecting something extraordinary. The tea is good but definitely not 33cents/ounce good. The tea itself at best I will only pay $ 4 for that. The boba on the other hand was horrible, that I ended up pouring the milk tea on the other cup and tossed the boba away. Facility: 3⁄5 The place is bright and clean, and seems spacious, but then I was the only customer that time. Overall ok environment but nothing really stand out. In conclusion, I think Tea Station has good tea but definitely too expensive. I did not have the chance to try their food or other items on the menu, and probably won’t be going back due to value, and there are so many choices in the Newark/Fremont area.

Tonight, I went to tea station with my friends. My friend frequents this store and she always orders a rose milk green tea. When she received the drink, it was brown rather than the usual pink. We sent it back suspecting it was made with black tea rather than green tea. It wasn’t a big deal seeing as this is a common mistake for many tea shops. The waiter took the drink back and handed it to the barista, notifying her of the mistake. She gave our table the nastiest glare and literally yelled out loud«are you f***ing kidding me?» and stormed off to the back. I canNOT believe the service here! I understand it is frustrating to have to remake the order but it was incredibly rude to show her frustration to a customer. I really hope they fix their customer service. The drinks were fine but with that attitude, let’s just hope she didn’t spit in them.

Best milk tea in the bay. The boba is the best: lightly sweet, chewy, and just the right amount in your drink. I love the rose milk tea with boba, half sweet. The sweetness of the bobs compliments the floral tones of the milk tea. I also really like their takoyaki. They cover it in nori and omit bonito. The takoyaki sauce is strong in worstershire flavor. But it’s quite crispy on the outside and generous amounts of octopus are inside.

Worst Tea Station I’ve been to. I got the lavender beauty tea, but it didn’t really taste like anything. It tasted like water with a little bit of sugar. What happened to the tea part!!! Customer service was not great at all. It took me half an hour to try to get my check… I will definitely not be coming back.

Such a love hate with Tea Station. I used to come here for years for warm delicious Jasmine milk tea or a good old black milk tea. Their pearls are usually soft and chewy and nice. However they have completely jacked up their prices and I have to pay around 5 $ for a cup of milk tea. So unheard of! It was pricey before but it was worth it. Because of this I never come back anymore. Sure, no one else makes milk tea like them but there are so many other options that are just as good. Service is also very horrible. Seating can take forever and it has taken half an hour for me to flag someone down and another half hour to get my single drink. Step it up, tea station.

Great drinks, horrible to shitty customer service. The girl working looked like she didn’t want to be there and showed attitude. I do like their drinks. But definitely not coming back due to crappy service. Rose green tea with no sweetness was definitely sweet, tasted great. Boba was to soft, not my style.

ARGH. I have to say I am quite the patient person, but this place was a terrible experience. Maybe I was grumpy because I hadn’t eaten dinner yet or maybe because of the lady’s attitude… either way. A 3 for the appetizers/snacks we ordered, but literally a 1 for the service. I came here with two others on a Wednesday evening around 7:30PM. When we went into the store, there was no one inside except us. We quickly ordered our items for togo: –1 order of Taiwanese sausage(three links) //Quite pricey, but a good representation of what Taiwanese sausage is! Hot and thick! YUM! –1 order of fried taro balls(5 pieces) //Piping hot inside! Though the taro-ness was not super strong, but the texture was great and the outside wasn’t burnt. Soon, it started getting a bit busier. And 20 minutes later, I see people who came in 5 minutes ago, leave with their drinks and togo menus! So… WHEREISMINE?! We asked the girl multiple times, and all she said was«oh». And I’m sorry if I was walking towards the drinks section to check out the menu… I guess I’ll stand behind the«togo» line sign if that makes you feel better!(She asked us to step back.) Pros: –Clean place. Brightly lit, clean tables and environment. –Semi-decent service. The bus-girl was the one who saved the day, since she quickly went to find out where my food was when she finally realized we had been waiting there for a long time. Cons: –Need I say more? Tips/Observations: –They have stamp cards! –It is pretty cold in here… so bring a thin cardigan! Overall, the popular snacks are made well and drinks come in huge portions! But if you’re not happy eating at a place, then the food will always taste bad. Hopefully when I come back next time, I will have a better experience.

Meh, I’m not the biggest fan of this place. Always packed and the drinks are mediocre tea drinks. Ordered the tawainese sausage but they were too oily so I was constantly patting the sausage down with a napkin to remove the excess oil. What I did enjoy was the plum sweet potato fries, wasn’t oily either. Don’t recommend this place, wouldn’t return.

Came back to catch up with friends. I still stand by my opinion that prices are high(milk tea + boba = $ 5 for regular size) but you get a clean environment to relax in and wait staff. I had the Royal milk tea which is just Earl Grey & it was a mellow pleasant flavor. Pretty typical. My friend had a hot almond tea and I really enjoyed hers. It had the aroma of amoretto and didn’t taste intense or overly sweet. Taro balls had a good texture and flavor. I’d get it to share, it’s hard to eat more than a couple bc they are very decadent. NOTE: everyone in my group of 6 ordered HALFSWEET drinks & I could have still gone with less. A regularly drink will be a sugar kick.

I guess I just don’t have much luck at Tea Station. Each time we go here we get greeted with grumpy folks. It takes a long time to get your tea or sometimes they forget your order. There’s no excuse for bad service esp. when there’s so many wait staff just standing around doing nothing. The only thing good here is the actual boba and tea but there’s enough comparable boba places in Fremont that, it’s not even necessary to go here anymore. We’ll only stop here if it’s convenient, but otherwise, I’d rather go to places with better service.
