I have to give them 5 stars today. The service as of late has been much better and more welcoming. There was a while there where as much as I love the food it was almost uncomfortable to walk in. This was due to cooks using inappropriate language and cashiers that made you feel like you were interrupting them. Thank you for turning this around.

I went here two weekends ago and ordered sit down breakfast. The food was mostly good, as it has been in the past. The problem was that the orange slice served on my plate had a moldy rind. I write this review in the hopes that the owners read it and make an effort to increase their quality. I like having a local bagel shop, I just wish it was trying harder to serve great meals.

Horrible customer service, I opened a Unilocal account just to write this. First off the food is great but will probably not return do to customer service. I ordered bagels and cream cheese to go for my employees, got to my job site an hour away and no cream cheese! Bagels aren’t bagels without cream cheese! Stopped to pick up bagels for my guys a few days later, explained what happened on my last visit and all the guy said was«I will make sure it’s in there». No sorry, no let me give you credit NOTHING! So I then told the manager and he gave me a refund for the cream cheese, WHATTHE F!!! How do you forget the most expensive thing on the order! If they would have said sorry to begin with and maybe offered me a cup of coffee, I would not be waisting my time writing this and would probably stop there several times a week. But here we are writing reviews and seriously not wanting to step foot in there again! Thank you and sorry go a long way in book.

Insect in the salad today — not good. We’ve been regular customers here for many years and this is the first time something like this happened, hence the 2 stars, but this is certainly not a good sign. Wish I could confirm the source(dirty salad mixture or something else), but regardless, probably wont be back anytime soon.

I’m new to the area and brought my 3 kids here for the first time and couldn’t have been more pleased! The staff was friendly and attentive and the manager made sure to accommodate my 2 year old with a hi chair as soon as we sat down. The food was incredible and the baked goods were to die for, I had to bring some home for my husband! Will definitely be back!

Food is very good, closest I can find to New York style deli in the Conejo valley. Staff is friendly for the most part. If I posted this review 6 months ago I would have given them 4 – 5 stars, However, I have noticed the cleanliness seems to have declined in the past few months and when I go for lunch they always seem to have only a small selection of bagels left. Overall a good place to have breakfast or lunch, just hope the manager realizes the staff seems to be slacking in cleanliness of store(and restrooms).

Love this place!!! Very good food and super friendly staff. My family is new to the area and we have been going the past couple weekends. I Love the early riser, my husband loves the breakfast burrito and my kids love the pancakes. It’s also very clean. The manager is always smiling and very nice. He offers us more coffee and he gives our kids a cookie. This place is our new favorite restaurant. LOVEIT

Super upset with this place! I ordered a turkey sausage, egg & cheese sour dough bagel with added sprouts & avocado. It was $ 1.49 to add avocados & they didn’t even add any! On top of that, they gave me a plain bagel instead of a sour dough bagel Very disappointed.

I used to enjoy coming here when I visited the area for work. However, the service has gone way downhill. To begin, I ordered almost 3 pounds of chocolate thumbprint cookies to take to a birthday party. The employee who took my order literally threw them in a box. The icing was smashed and cookies were stuck together. It was an absolute mess and I would have been embarrassed to give it to anyone as a gift. I paid approximately $ 30 for the cookies, so I expected better. When I complained, another employee put them on a tray for us, but she used the same cookies that already had been smashed and smeared in the box, so I still feel very disappointed. I also ordered a burger for lunch and they messed that up, too. Needless to say, I’m not happy and won’t be back. Steer clear. There are much better places to eat in the area. Some of the food I have had in the past here was really good, but it can’t make up for a staff that just doesn’t care.

Food lacked flavor and depth, adequate only with a considerable amount of salt and pepper. Bathrooms were not clean and the paper towel dispenser was empty. Floors and tables were dirty. Coffee was okay. Will not be back.

Went to go for lunch and at 11 am on a Tuesday they had no bagels. This place is terrible and I would kill for a bagel place that actually had bagels in Newbury Park.

Yuck! Bagel sandwich breakfast #4. Gooey, floppy barely warm penile sliced turkey sausage, bagel barely toasted and coated with some kind of nasty corn flour or something gritty and sandy and ruinous in texture to this bagel(Jewish rye it was called). And the egg was tasteless. And the wait? Oy! To wait for something good is fine, but this was sad and cast a pall on the rest of the day. Service was weird too, like they weren’t sure how to make a bagel sandwich on a Sunday at 1:30pm…sluggish staff made this quick bite to eat somehow eerie. Lots of customers exchanging glances while waiting for food. Creepy.

My wife and I went in here as we were waiting for another store to open and we were very disappointed The place is clean but the menu is hard to read, the coffee bar is on the far side of the room and not very well set up The person who waited on us had no personality or didnt want to be there, she didnt explain anything about where the coffee was or when the food would up Just not a friendly place and they allowed homeless folks to hang out inside. We wont be back

First time visit wasn’t impressed. $ 6 for two bagels is in my opinion overpriced. The bagels were hard as rocks and tasteless my husband and I were very disappointed… Oh and To top it off I just got and email from Noah’s Bagels $ 7 for 13 bagels so I guess I should have gone there instead. Won’t be back… One good note the inside was decorate nice.

Tasty brownies when they have them in stock. The chicken salad is solid. All the sammiches are good. The bagels suck(in my opinion). The service is great!

Good wood fired pizza!!! The bagels are fresh and made in house. Go before closing to get deals on the items that did not sell that day. My girls love the large assortment of fresh mad cookies. The bagels and lox plate is the best around. Writing this review is making me crave a bagel.

We had a roast beef on salt bagel and it was pretty good but for $ 8.99 it should be. There vegetable cream cheese is good it’s not authentic like what I’m used it. It had carrots and celery instead on cucumber and scallions like you get at other delis. There iced caramel macchiato was good and they use organic coffee. There side salads like potato and cole slaw looked old and kind of sad so I got potato chips instead which I was kind of bummed because I was really craving a good potato salad.

Old New York Deli is pretty good. It does remind me of the deli’s I’ve been to in New York. This might be due to the fact that every time I go here it is always sooo oo busy. The parking in the area is always packed especially during lunch time. The food is a bit on the expensive side(when it comes to lunch). I normally spend about $ 16 bucks to eat here. I would recommend Old New York Deli to people, but as a warning, I always end up hungry by the end of the day if I go here for lunch on work days(that could just be me though). Give it a try if you’re into breakfast food, bagels, and burgers.

Decided to downgrade to 3 stars. I would come here for a bagel and maybe coffee but my more recent experiences haven’t been as good. I ordered the daily special — a basis 2 eggs, fruit cup and bagel. The eggs were overcooked, as in dry, not exactly burnt, but to the point where I… which is extremely rare… simply didn’t eat them. The fruit cup was tiny and the fruit was so so. Disappointed. The«Early Riser» sandwich is usually pretty good though.

I got a plain bagel with Lox and the works… they are generous on the Salmon and condiments– this can be split between two people. The only thing I would ask for next time is to toast the bagel– I think they just warm it. I like a little crunch under my Lox. They give you big slices of tomato, cucumber and lots of capers. I also got a Peppermint Mocha and it was sweet and yummy. I have been to their other location in Mammoth and the service is way friendlier here. The menu is huge, you can order anything from bagels, to omelettes and sandwich’s, muffins, Yogurt Parfaits and baked goods. My bagel was about $ 10.50-but you can make two open face sandwich’s out of it.
