Usually the food here is okay. The place is clean and the employees friendly. Today I tried one of their premium selections — Shanghai Angus Steak, my mistake. I was indeed ‘Shanghai’d’. The only part resembling steak was the name. This meat was tough and stringy. I’ll just stick to the old stand-by’s next time. Update: Went back again today. The trash was piling up and there were 8 to 10 people waiting because they didn’t have enough people working.

Fairly good Chinese food. I liked the kung pao chicken and the black pepper chicken. The ambience is nice with comfortable seating.

How can this place be out of soy sauce? Really every time I come to this place they are out of something. I will drive the extra few miles and go to the Camarillo location much better place

Doors say they are open until 930, walked up at 845 and the doors were locked. The employees pretended to not see me outside so they could close early. I will never be going to this panda location again. Probably steer clear from all the stores in general for awhile with how disappointed I am in being shut out and ignored. Stay away from panda express Newbury Park.

This restaurant looks great and you get the feel your getting fresh, healthy, cooked to perfection food. But looks can be very deceiving. This review is about what I ordered the fried rice. They use frozen peas, carrots, and corn, just like you see in the freezer section of the super market. This is not Chinese food its cheap cafeteria food at best. What you guys can’t afford to buy fresh ingredients? Or the real answer probably is you are to lazy to prepare fresh food.

Great and friendly service at this location. It’s a clean restaurant. I’ve never have really had any problems. My orders have never been wrong here, and I frequent this Panda Express often.

This Panda is horrible. They’ve completely forgotten teriyaki sauce for the teriyaki chicken on numerous occasions. Tonight however was the icing on the cake, we ordered a double entrée and when we got home they had only given us our sides. They actually didn’t even put our teriyaki chicken in our container. Absolutely won’t be going back there.

This particular Panda Express is alright, albeit inconsistent. They’ve gotten my order completely wrong on more than one occasion. There is one staff member that is just downright unpleasant, but the rest of the staff is very nice. The best part about this location is the drive through — it makes a quick lunch or dinner even easier.

I went to this location, despite my better judgment. I ordered the orange chicken, chicken teriyaki and the chow mein. Th e chicken teriyaki was extremely dry and the chow mein tasted severely BURNT/CHARRED. I have had the same problem with this location before and stayed away for over a year. I was dragged back there today by a friend. NEVERAGAIN! I called to voice my complaint to the manager, the phone was answered by someone with no customer service skills whatsoever, did not put me on hold and just said to someone in the background«they want to speak to a manager». Never put me on hold and never came back to the phone. I hung up and called the company direct. Although the company handled my call well and are sending me a voucher to replace the meal… I will NEVER go back to this location and will share this experience with ALL of my co-workers(I work for a large insurance company close by).

I have gone to lunch here 3 times now. First time they were out of fried rice? Second time out of chow main? And today slow service told I had a fork in my bag to go and didn’t. Wasn’t told were any napkins were or nor did anyone put napkins in my to go order. Very poor service for a rich area.

The problem with these cheap Chinese food places is that the food is so similar. Meaning, the sauces all taste similar. The firecracker beef is very close in taste to their orange chicken. Gooey, sweet glop. It’s just cheap and quick. Just okay. The chow mein noodles are too thin. I don’t want angel hair pasta with my lo mein. The children who wait on you at the order counter are dumb here.

I go into the Newbury Park location to get some takeout on Saturday evening. I order two entries and some noodles and rice. A nice young lady serves it up in a togo box. I get to the register and the idiot behind the counter asks me what I have and I tell him. Even though he has just witnessed the young lady serve me he doesn’t believe me. So he asks again and says he thinks that I ordered the orange chicken with bacon and that he has to charge me more. He’s asked me twice and I’ve told him what I ordered. He then takes the togo box and opens it up to inspect it just to make sure that I haven’t attempted to get away with Orange Chicken w/Bacon at the price of just Orange Chicken. I was offended by his attitude and should have just walked out of there but I was hungry. I’m a respectful professional guy. As I think back on the experience I’m disgusted to have been treated that way. Needless to say I will not be going back to that location or any other PandaExpress again. The food is OK for takeout but the service at the register was totally inappropriate and downright rude. They need to train these people. You just can’t treat people like that. I will not go back to a PE.

Nothing wrong with this particular Panda. Its clean with parking. Service was OK. But really getting frustrated with the chain. The food is getting expensive… less tasty and have you noticed their styrafoam containers? The have a bulge at the bottom now so they give you less food. No place sells these containers so they must be just made for Panda Express… really some executive bean counter thought you could increase profit by a few percent by stealing a few bites. Bad Kung Fu PANDA! «Po the secret ingredient to my noodles is a the dragon container that rips my customers off» — Po’s father…

Panda Express is on the average, a solid spot to grab fairly good quality Chinese food at a great price. Why are they so good, I’ll tell ya: 1) They do not franchise. All stores are corporate owned, so it is much easier for them to maintain high standards. 2) They use real food of decent quality and they turn it over fast. In most dishes, the chicken looks and tastes and has the texture of chicken the way you would have it at home. Ever had that weird textured slime covered oddly shaped chicken stuff at other Chinese restaurants and wondered what process does this meat go thru to get to this stage but still eat it anyway? Gross. 3) They give you a ton of food for $ 6. Per pound, this is one of the best deals in the Quick Service Food industry. 4) You CAN eat healthy here. String bean chicken, white rice or steamed veggies.(would be great if they made brown rice an option) 5) They are fast 6) You can see the kitchen, and it is CLEANCLEANCLEAN. Well done team Panda Express, keep up the great work!

As for this particular location, no. No. Not a fan of chicken bone grinding in my teeth, sorry. Actually no I’m not sorry! When I go here with my mom, I just have veggies and rice because I’m pretty sure the starches and vegetables can’t be messed up. Well, that and the fortune cookie! *UPDATE* Yes it is just this location that is awful. I’ve had it in Thousand Oaks, just fine! In Moorpark, well, great! Canyon Country, better still! Just this one, just this location is, ick, not good when it comes to the meat they make, I don’t want to repeat my last review on the chicken I had to spit out into a napkin, so I’m going to leave it at that.

I ordered the Panda Bowl with Black Pepper Chicken & Fried Rice for $ 4.99. The Chicken was tender with a good Pepper kick. The Fried Rice was very good and goes great with Soy Sauce. The Fortune Cookie was crunchy and sweet. A very good meal from a rare Drive Thru of Panda Express.

WEAKSAUCE! They ran out of tofu, and egg plant! Had I known when I was ordering at the drive-thur(30min lunch) I would have gone somewhere else… instead they let me know when I was paying at the window. At least the dude was very apologetic about it. Over all the service is good, and the food at this Panda Express taste like any other PD Express… greasy FYI I got the walnut Shrimp at no extra cost…

Their food is average at best, typical Panda Express. I give them a 4 star only because they have a drive-thru which is rare for this chain. Otherwise I would pass on Panda.
