Perfect little market right here in our neighborhood. Employees are terrific, and the owner is always very accommodating. Headed there now to pick up my ham and cheese breakfast burrito — they’re awesome. And you gotta check out the beer cave.

My new favorite place in the area. Very friendly service, clean, nice atmosphere also a great sandwich! I will definitely be back for the street taco’s, they smelled amazing! It’s nice to find a place like this where the owner introduces himself to you and genuinely cared about how I liked the sandwich, you don’t find them like this anymore. I also took a stroll around the place and found the beer cave… another reason for me to come back!

This market is a slice of heaven! Their products are great quality brands yet the owner doesn’t overprice. I find the store offers very high value. The deli is also awesome. Try the chicken tacos. Righteous! I’m so happy we have such a business in Dos Vientos. The owner is a good listener and has been willing to stock our favorite foods. Let’s support it!

I love the sandwiches in this place. But when I went there at lunch time today. They were prepping raw chicken on and around their sandwich area. If your going to prep raw chicken do it far away from where you are going to make sandwiches. I decided to decline getting my sandwich because of this today. I like to suppot local businesses like this, but this incident is unacceptable and I will not be back. This is not the first time this has happened at this location either.

Great selection of beer and delicious sides to accompany. Excellent deli with Boars Head fresh sliced meats and cheeses. Fantastic sandwiches and tacos.

Took a 40 minute detour from my trip along the Pacific Coast Highway to find this place. The trip was absolutely worth it as the street tacos are delicious. I ordered two of each: chicken, carne asada, and pork with all fixings and the red sauce. Took a tour of the cooler and enjoyed the wide selection of craft beers. This place is nice, clean, and modern. However, there’s no drink in premises beer license so I was disappointed I couldn’t drink my craft beers and tacos. But it’s no deal breaker, I will come back next time I’m in SoCal!

Village Trader earns 5 stars not because of their huge selection of items(they don’t), or because of their low low prices(they’re reasonable but not the best deal in town). They get 5 stars because they deserve it. Ernie and his staff truly care about their clients and the people they serve in the community. Ernie goes out of his way to support local community events, fund raisers, and charitable organizations, while almost always taking a financial loss. He is constantly trying to cater to the needs of the local community, as evidenced by the amount of gluten free items they have in stock. But most importantly, Ernie and his family are just really great people. Stop by for some tacos or a sandwich, grab something to drink from his extensive refrigerated section, and spend a few min talking with Ernie. I’m confident you’ll agree. I strongly urge the people of Newbury Park to come by and support Ernie and the Village Trader.

Went in today and ordered a Buffalo Chicken sandwich. Lets just say it might have been the best ive ever had. Everything about it was incredible. Just the right amount of crumbled blue cheese was the topping point. The owner Ernie is putting together a top notch establishment. I will definitely be back.

Stopped in for a sandwich, impressed by the 5-star reviews, and picked up a bottle of Cabernet for dinner. As I sat on the patio devouring my deliciously spiced torta al pastor, the bottle of wine crashed to the pavement. When I went back in to buy a replacement, the gentleman at the checkout said, «No charge.» I thanked him sincerely but insisted on paying, so he charged me half price. What a kind gesture! The market is well stocked, with lots of interesting beer and wine choices.

Great local spot. We stop here all the time for deli meat(boars head), sandwiches, and beer. Awesome selection of beer. I love to support this local place. Also convenient to quickly pick something up if you need to from time to time: tortillas, tomatoes, onions, etc.

Gosh what a place to relax and unwind some thoughts over a nice meal of tacos! I work across the street from this joint so you can find me here at least 4 to 5 times a week. This place has everything you would need at a grocery store along with its own customized beer cave.(Is a tad chilly in there) I never see this store overcrowded and from a customers perspective I really do enjoy this. The store is its own perfect size. Not big, nor small, just to accumulate its own kinda feel that just feels like home. If you can’t find me eating tacos here you will probably find me in the back of the store sitting in their wine room designed by the owner himself. This room just fancies me with its wonderful tile/dimmed lights and nice shelves to match. Haha sometimes I try to read off the funky wine names and blend them together in a certain accent that makes sure to crack me up. Overall this store has kept me fed and entertained. What a great place to be.

I love this place. Greatest beer selection ever and the other spirits are fantastic. Boars head cold cuts are a rare find on the west coast and the ownership is fantastic. If there is something you like, ask the owner and there is a very good chance he will get it for you. Awesome food and a wide variety.

I love this mini market in Dos Vientos! It’s very convenient when I’m craving something at the deli or want some dessert. The perks is the ability to walk from my house to the place within 10 minutes max. I really enjoy their tacos and I like the variety of snacks they have to offer.

Great turkey subs! Perfect place to grab a quick sandwich, and talk to the locals. The owner was so kind, I had asked for a bottle opener to purchase and he went to the back, scrimmaged through his own boxes, and found me one! He gave it to me for free. Now that’s too kind! I love local places and shopping local makes you feel like a part of your community. Take part Dos Vientos! Shop Local! Support your local businesses, especially given how friendly they are, minimize those runs to the big box dealers, local means you’re bringing the money to your community, and you’re supporting your neighbors. I’ll be stopping by for another sandwich soon, thanks guys! I’d rather come here than spend 19 bucks on a veggie sandwich from Brent’s Deli. No thank you!

Craft brew beer guys read the entire review. This place is fantastic. Tucked away in the hills of Dos Vientos is a great little market. Family run and locally owned. The owner, «Ernie», keeps with the idea that if it doesn’t taste good or is loved by those who frequent his establishment, then he won’t carry it. Thus with that philosophy in mind, they carry a small, but very well done selection of wine and food in the market. Great gelato and all Boar’s Head meat in the deli. The deli makes great sandwiches and to order specialty items. Home made recipes of sides and salads with Greek, Italian, and other Mediterranean influences. Mix that with a cook who brings in his own family secret street tacos(chicken, al pastor, carne asada, steak) for $ 1.50 a piece, and you’ve got great lunch and dinner choices for months to come. The son, «Nickie», orders and runs the beer cave. Stocked with the latest and greatest(and always taking suggestions) selection including but not limited to: Russian River, Ballast Point, Modern Times, Bells, Stone, Firestone Walker, etc just to name a few. The beer cave is continually growing, with roughly 80 different craft breweries in stock from all over the world. Belgian ales, IPA, Porter, Stouts, German Witbeir, Icelandic Ales, Irish, Scottish, Asian breweries, etc. Go take a look. And you’ll keep coming back for more. All my love boys! Keep up the great work! Been coming to you since you opened and it’s been a pleasure watching your business adapt and flourish to accommodate your local community. Cheers!

I used to live in So Cal and on a recent visit back I was reminded just how much I missed this store. I’ve tried almost everything they serve at the deli counter, but I would have to say the muffaletta sandwich and the tacos are my absolute favorite. They’ll even make custom breakfast sandwiches and burritos; if you don’t see it on the menu, just ask! These people are sooooo accommodating. Prices are much better than I expected. The Boars Head meats and cheeses are cheaper than any of the chain stores in the area. Amazing beer and wine selection! My husband can spend hours in the beer cave checking out all the craft beers. If you’re in the area you would be remiss not to check out The Village Trader Market. I wish I could find a store like this near my new home in TX.

The sandwhiches are delicious and the beer and wine selection is awesome… Perfect when u need a last minute gift. I bought my boyfriend the«my bloody valentine» for valentines day and the one that looks like siracha(little spice to it) overall great place

I love this place. Aside from a walk in refrigerator and an amazing wine cave, they have a great selection of ice cream. The winner here though is the deli, particularly the meats and cheeses(which we buy every weekend for the kids for school) but the sandwiches and the tacos. Cheap, good food, great people at the register, and worth the drive up the hill.
