Pulchella Winery

Seriously some of the best wine we’ve had! The service is PERFECT… knowledgeable, conversational and attentive. Our first time there, we were able to enjoy generous samples before deciding on a bottle. Now, we have quite the collection of dragonfly bottles for our wine fridge. Hard to pick just one (or 5). It is, without a doubt, our favorite end to date night.

Finally made time to stop in here tonight, and glad we did. Intimate tasting room with great staff. Joey was very attentive and knowledgable about all their wines.
Red focused with great variety across the six or so wines we sampled. Would be very easy for anyone to find a favorite from the selection Pulchella offers.

As a winemaker I found them to be very generous and helpful. Enjoyed their red wines too!

My favorite wine bar by far. Super relaxed environment – especially the outdoor patio. Friendly service. Helped make our girls night perfect. Bring some yummy treats to have with their amazing wine. Definitely a place I will be coming back to as often as I can. So happy to have such a great local business!

I’ve been here on four different occasions and always had amazing service. The wine is great too. Our most recent experience was last week. We put together a bridal shower on a Thursday night. The owner was super sweet and went above and beyond to make sure we were all set.
–OUTSIDE FOOD IS ALLOWED. You can bring outside food. Newhall Refinery is across the street and you can order from them and eat it at Puchella.
–NON-​ALCOHOLIC DRINKS-​we were allowed to bring non-​alcoholic wine for our pregnant friend.
–OUTDOOR PATIO is really cute and private. We used it on a rainy night, they set up heaters for us and it was perfect. I’d imagine its a great spot for a warm summer night.
–SERVICE– They are so sweet. Knowledgeable about the wine

I love being a member and having a winery close to home. Joey is so knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Try the Block 6 — it is amazing. Goalie is also friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone should come and try the wine. You will not be disappointed.

My first time was for a friends birthday on the patio and it was so fun. Went again while waiting for a table at Newhall refinery… the staff was super nice and the wines were so good! I will definitely be back for more vino!

Chivalry is not dead. Especially when I am out for the evening with Sancho. We had a great start to the evening at a cute little wine bar at Pulchella Winery.
The wine sommelier was very welcoming once we walked in and he invited us to sit at he bar. It’s definitely a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance and the nice tune playing in the background certainly set the mood tonight.
So Sancho started talking his wine lingo with him and ordered my Cab and his Petite Sirah. After I did my Unilocal — duties aka taking photos of our dranks and the place, I definitely enjoyed my Cab. And Sancho’s Petite Sirah was definitely a contender from my palate as well.
PW is a great little spot to sip some vino while being attended to with friendly staff and cozy ambiance. Albeit located in a small town miles away from home, I would definitely return if I am in the area again.

Great local wine bar with a limited but extremely well thought out selection of craft wines. No Kim Crawford here folks! Drink some wine and then catch a show at the playhouse just steps away.

I am definitely a fan. I could drink all night here. The staff is really friendly. I only wish that they would start serving food. I could drink more if I had something to nibble on. I still like this place!

I love love love the Illusionist Grenache! I could drink it all night. And even though they don’t serve food, you can bring your own. Will definitely be back, may even move into this winery. It is that awesome!

Great wine, great atmosphere. No food but you can easily get delivery from local restaurants.

Gotta come in and try the new fall releases, so good! A couple of new blends, a Petit Syrah and Syrah.

Very chill place, relaxing, love this place great Pinot Noir, great stories, this is a GO to place. Must visit. Steve and Nate are wonderful!

I had the pleasure of tasting Putchella wine during a church event a few months back in there warehouse. I adored their various wines and the owners friendly nature. Today my hubby and I stopped by their tasting room for a different experience and are once again impressed. If you love wine make this a stop on your map to tasting enjoyment!

We have returned to Pulchella many times since my first review, and have now joined the wine club. The wines are uniformly good, solid table wines. They tend to be «big» wines, no matter the varietal. Every time I go, it seems I pick a different one as my favorite of the night. The owners, Steve and Nate, are super-​nice, hardworking people who are passionate about wine. Their wives work the tasting room on occasion, and are equally passionate. Joey, who has poured for us a lot recently, is also knowledgeable about wine and food.
With the Refinery open across the street, you can now order food from the Refinery and bring it into the Pulchella tasting room. (For a while, the Refinery would actually deliver it to you, but they stopped.) As much as I love the Refinery’s food, I have hearing problems, and can’t stand the noise level of the restaurant, so getting Refinery food in Pulchella’s more civilized atmosphere is the perfect compromise. (What do you call a compromise that is better than the original choice?)
A word about the wine for my fellow wine snobs: I’ve been to dozens, perhaps over 100 wineries. My very favorite — A. Rafanelli, Sagebrush Annie — produce very refined wines that are complex and subtle. I usually save them for special occasions. My next tier — Trentadue, Hug, and now Pulchella — are excellent wines that are more for regular consuming. You can save them for special occasions, but why wait? This is NOT a back-​handed compliment! Sometimes (most of the time) you want to open a bottle that you KNOW will be good, that you can enjoy without having to think about it.

This is a neat little wine tasting room located in the heart of Old Town Newhall. It’s a great place to go with a date or a friend. It has a fairly quiet ambiance so you are actually able to carry on a conversation at a normal tone. You got to love their Little Engine That Could story of how the winery started. Deciding to create a winery and distribute your own brand of wine is not a small feat. You really have to admire their ambition and success. I recommend ordering the sampler. It gives you a nice taste of their 4 wines. They unfortunately do not serve food but there are plenty of nearby restaurants in the area
When you’re ready to party just walk on over to the Vu Bar & Lounge or Newhall Refinery. You can also walk across the street and visit the Repertory Playhouse. There’s also an Old Town Newhalll street fair on Thursdays.
