I had been looking forward to seeing Dr. Fisher for some time before my initial visit. My dad had told me about what a great job he does and that he has a good personality as well. I came in for a visit and halfway through the initial paperwork Dr. Fisher started asking me questions and after I told him about my knee problem he said that he wanted me to see a specific orthopedist, have an MRI made and evaluation, and then come see him with a copy of the MRI in-hand. I did those things but couldn’t get in right away because his office hours conflict with my work schedule. Finally, I had a weekday when I was starting at 10 at work in Valencia. Hooray! So I scheduled a 9am appt. His associate chiropractor let me in ~8:55am. Around 9:05/9:10, he received a call from Dr. Fisher that he was running late, that he was in Palmdale at the time of the call because he was tending to something with his father in the hospital. Knowing that I had no other time to see him and I really needed the treatment which was already long overdue, I waited. He showed up ~9:40am. Meanwhile another patient had arrived ~9:30am and he brought her in first. Then he brought me in for evaluation but put a heat pad on me before much discussion about anything. I was seen ~10am and the duration post-heat was no more than 8 minutes. Already now late for work, I was stressed to leave in a hurry. When I originally scheduled the appt I informed the person answering that I had Blue Shield PPO which covers 12 chiropractic treatments per year at 100% rate, no copay, no deductible. By the time my visit was over, a young woman was at the reception desk. She had no idea what was going on and Dr. Fisher made me wait there while she verified my insurance, despite my telling him the same about my coverage. He told me he would collect $ 35 from me and then if they paid he would refund me $ 30…so I pay him $ 5 to process my insurance?! Thoroughly annoyed, I refused based on his in-network status and my having done the legwork ahead of time to avoid this very thing. Then he said that the insurances usually require additional paperwork. I expressed that I was already late to work and needed to go immediately, asking him to fax me the paperwork, but he insisted that I stay and fill it out. I asked about the MRI he instructed me to bring for his review and he seemed unaware, so then a few minutes were spent searching for it because apparently it had been lost in the short time I was there. They eventually found it and he asked to hold on to it to review later. So what was the purpose of going through all those hoops in order to have it before I could be seen? I left around 10:25am, arriving an hour late to work. When the claim was processed, he billed my insurance a total amount of $ 289.26 and they paid $ 140.79. That’s quite a mark-up from $ 35.00… As for the treatment itself, it really helped. He was respectful of my phobia of cracking and did a quick, slight crack but his technique was such that I didn’t even know it until it was over. not traumatic. However, due to the total lack of respect of my time, the disorganization and the questionable finances I cannot go back there.

Dr Fisher is the best! Very attentive and listens to you. He actually examines you and doesn’t just adjust you without knowing what he’s walking into. He really takes the time to make sure you’re taken care of. I appreciate his attention to detail and his warm bedside manner. He’s always cracking a joke(no pun intended) and has pleasant conversations. So so happy I found him! A keeper indeed!
