The pancakes here are superb, and if Pascal has made any of his specialty jams, try some of them with(or instead of) the maple syrup. There are other wonderful breakfast options, and lunches and dinners are equally delightful. Service can sometimes be a bit uneven – staffing is tricky in a bistro in a shopping center with a movie theater nearby, because patrons may arrive in groups and usually without reservations. Rest assured, the food is worth an occasionally slightly«relaxed» service.

This is my new favorite French Café. I had the special, the fish, for lunch. It was understated, and delicious! The chef himself served me. Francois is a delightful server and although my French is a little rusty appeared to enjoy speaking with me. The dessert and espresso is to die for!

Service was terrible. We ordered our food earlier than others and our food was served a lot later than others. Food was not delicious at all.

For a few years now, our school’s Société Honoraire de Français club has hosted two events here annually, so it came to our disappointment when issues arose today. Normally 8 or so members are able to attend this event so as usual, we order and the food is great. As a repeated occurence, we have generally been able to check out with individualized checks but our waiter said this was not possible, which was fine by us. As highschoolers, all of us carried cash today, but some of us didn’t have the exact change and put down $ 20 for their croissant of $ 3.25 or $ 20 for their $ 7.50 french onion soup; even with an automatic gratuity it was overpaid. After we paid, we naturally waited to receive our change, however, after 5 – 10 minutes I noticed our waiter cleaning bottles and raised my hand so that I could ask the closest employee for our change back. He informed our waiter who came back asking how much we paid, and we plainly didn’t calculate because it’s only it didn’t seem like this would happen next. He went for a moment for something but came back angrily saying it was our fault that we didn’t ask specifically for our change back. Though he gave us, $ 10 – 12 I spoke up that I wasn’t confident that was our correct change back as he even said himself, that he didn’t know how much we gave as well and that he assumed that was just what it was, the entire payment. He came back aggressively arguing with me,(the customer?!) that it was plainly our fault for not asking for change back and was truly unapologetic; and I thought the customer was always right. It was most presumptuous of the restaurant to assume anything, and no restaurant should ever assume you don’t want change back. There is just a general protocol that unless we tell our waiter/waitress to keep the change, they should automatically give us it back, it’s an expectation. It’s just etiquette that was clearly thrown out as arguing with a patron, let alone a highschool student, while pocketing some change, and muttering angrily with other co-workers is downright unprofessional. My members left not only disappointed but scared of our waiter’s animosity. SHF does not need Café Beau Soleil, but they do need better employees.

We’ve been regulars at Beau Soleil for years, but I need to say that they outdid themselves with the Valentine’s Day prix fixe dinner. Not only was the food fantastic, but Pascal and his servers were wonderful and our dog loved it as well. We especially enjoyed the lobster bisque, which was wonderfully seasoned, and the main course of salmon with seafood risotto, sitting in a beautiful and delicious sauce based on fish stock and beets. Finishing with profiteroles stuffed with ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce was only icing on the cake. You can believe that we will be back soon. Merci, Pascal, it was perfect.

Had a wonderful breakfast here this morning. Service from Louis(sp?) was great — very attentive and pleasant. We followed his suggestions with Huevos Rancheros and Crêpe Parisian Farmer. Both dishes were scrumptious. Hubby had some tasty champagne and I had wonderful coffee and cappucino! Very cute ambiance in Fashion Island. We would definitely return to try some of the other dishes!

Weekend breakfasts at beau soleil are our weekly tradition. What makes this place so great is its atmosphere and French speaking staff that has us feeling like we are back in a Parisian café. Love going back and chatting with our favorite waiter, Marco.

Love this place for breakfast! Their dishes are just so delicious. Have been going there a lot and always forget to leave a review. The wait staff is amazing. Unfortunately I forgot the gentleman’s name with a wicked French accent(positive :) but he was very attentive and helpful. I am sure they are great for lunch and dinner. Always a positive experience.

Some of the best French brunch I have ever tasted! I happened upon this place which starting my day and prepping for some shopping! They have an amazing staff who are all very helpful. I do not speak a lick of French, so I was happy they have descriptions on the bottom! They also have a Take-Out bar for tea and coffee on the go! I helped myself to a veggie omelet and a side of chicken sausages, and my mom enjoyed french toast with a side of organic bacon!

I came here today and had a chicken omelette with crème fraîche. It was so-so, the omelette was kind of plain and the chicken was kind of dry. The side of potatoes was well seasoned with nice rosemary flavour and I wish there had been more — I considered getting another side of the roasted potatoes because it was pretty tasty had a nice crispiness to it. The butter and strawberry jam that came with the toast were good too. If I come back, I might consider trying one of their lunch items. Breakfast is served until 4 apparently which is cool, I definitely like having that choice. Service was a little slow, and took a while to bring just the waters.

Went here for breakfast one morning and the food was excellent. I got the Parisian eggs Benedict and my breakfast guest got the Belgium waffle. Everything was delicious! I can’t wait to come back here and try out their lunch and dinner.

Excellent food terrible service! I witnessed several people getting really upset at the hostess and I felt bad for her. Come on people, it’s not the hostess fault its managements! I would recommend adding some staff to this establishment. It was huge and jam packed. I really only saw one server working all the tables bringing drinks and taking orders. There was a food runner as well. That’s 2 people where is everyone else for this filled restaurant Sunday morning? Finally became frustrated and had to go up to the hostess to ask for our check, 20 minutes later it arrived… With 2 tables added to my tab, hmm that’s an expensive breakfast! An additional 20 minutes went by finally got the right check, thanks! The unorganized ways of this restaurant probably are 80% of its problem. Get organized and hire on 2 – 3 more severs.

Terrible service with less than average food. There was a huge black hair in my girlfriends French toast and when I told the server they sent a cook out who tried to say it wasn’t them. My girlfriend is blonde and I have short and brown. There are a lot better options in fashion island and I wouldn’t waste my time with this place.

French onion soup as good as it gets. Crêpes good they used buckwheat and I prefer regular white flour. We also had the chicken which was perfectly acceptable. Nice location good service. Will come back again! Loses one star because they were out of steak for lunch.

Excellent, took my 2 year old granddaughter for breakfast, she cannot have wheat products. The gluten free chocolate buckwheat crepes with ice cream were a big hit. Coffee was wonderful. I had a chicken omelette which was very good, the others had crepes. All plates were cleaned. Dishes were plated with either really nice real potatoes or a great fresh salad. We will be back. The staff were very attentive Oh and the manager came and hung out with our toddler.

We ordered the Pain Perdu to have as an appetizer and oh my goodness – that dish is absolutely delish! We ordered a Café Soleil Benedict and Mushroom Ravioli and those did not disappoint either. Definitely a must try!

Very cute French café in Fashion Island near Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters. We were with UCI-CHOC and hosting a retreat. Pleasantly surprised to walk into the café to find a personalized menu for our party. The Chef came out to personally greet us, and the wait staff was incredibly accommodating, as we stayed there quite a while for our meeting. Many of the guests at our table ordered the Pain Perdu which everyone enjoyed. I ordered the Crab Cake with Poached Eggs which was very light, fresh with large chunks of sweet crab meat. Also ordered the Strawberry Nutella Crêpe which was served with Vanilla Ice Cream. The texture of the crêpe was chewy and perfect and was not overwhelmed by the Nutella. Restroom situation is a bit weird, where they give you a token and you have to walk to the shop next door. The door actually ate my token without opening, but thankfully there was someone leaving the restroom so I was able to get in. Overall, a wonderful place hidden in Fashion Island, I would suggest checking it out for a quick culinary escape to Europe.

This is such a cute and cozy French Café inside Fashion Island.(Located next to Lark Restaurant near Nordstrom side) Get a little feel of Paris… I was already having not a good day and just needed some cozy time. It was raining and my friend wanted to go here and there and then decided back to here again. I’m glad we ended back here. They sat us outside the patio. Perfect ambiance to calm my nerves down. It’s cute, along with the décor and furniture and French music. We started off with an half dozen of escargot, with peach mimosa. Escargots were marinated in some basil olive oil of some type. Without shells and 6 tiny pieces. I wanted to order the Lamb shank but waitress told us that it wasn’t served everyday. Better to call ahead next time. Steak Frites: A thin layer of Sirloin steak topped with a few slices of avocado over some wine brown sauce and French fries $ 20.75 I ordered the steak medium and it came well done. The brown wine sauce was different. Next time I need had it on the side instead of over the steak. The French fries were awesome! Thin crispy and fresh! Boeuf Bourguinon $ 19.75– Beef stew with carrots, onions, and mushrooms served with Fettuccini. This was a good dish, but unfortunately the stew(sauce) didn’t appealed to my taste buds. This is only because of my individual dislike of the seasoning. But my friend liked the sauce and this dish. I love the ambiance of this cute restaurant and customer service was good. Next time, I will try their breakfast and enjoy a nice cup of coffee as well.
