Michael Stars

I came in here yesterday because despite my previous comments I still truly love Michael Stars. I have so many and they have lasted forever. I was extremely pleased to find a couple new styles with a little sassy sexiness and a larger color palette. The girls were really terrific and very helpful. I love the quality and was so impressed this time. I walked out with 3 great pieces and look forward to being back super soon!

I stopped in the Michael Stars store at Fashion Island last week to pick out a gift for a friend. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice selection of merchandise on sale. I bought a great oversized sweater for my friend and a different sweater for me, both on sale. Caty and Emily made suggestions and helped me with sizes. They even wrapped my friend’s gift. I’ve been a Michael Stars fan for years and still love the basic tees. I’m wearing tanks from years ago as workout tops now– they last forever. Thanks M Stars and thanks Fashion Island gang.

I’ve walked by this store at least a hundred times and never even noticed it was here, until today that is!
This store has a great selection of the basics. The «one size fits most» threw me a bit at first. But when I found a few cute shirts that fit, I was quickly re-​energized to do more shopping!
I really needed to find a nice blouse to go under a sweater I just bought to wear to a Christmas party. The salesperson was so nice and helpful. She picked out several sparkly tops to try on with my new sweater and helped me decide which one looked the best. It’s so nice to find such great customer service!
With cute blouses and friendly service, I thought this little store was a great find!

I’ve been an avid Michael Stars shopper for years. My shopping experience in their Fashion Island location changed that this past weekend. I tried to exchange a top that I had bought during their friends and family sale and I was told they wouldn’t accept it, return or exchange it. Not only did they still carry the shirt I wanted to exchange but it was about 5 feet from the register. I said that was ridiculous since I would be spending more $$ and the man said there was nothing he would do. Way to go with your customer service!!! I would think in this economy you wouldn’t try to tick off your loyal customers!

This Michael Stars location carries the full line. I stopped by for a pair of basic black leggings, and found a perfectly fitting pair. The saleswoman was hip, and helpful without being at all pushy. Usually empty so the shopping experience is easy and private. Although the «one size fits most» means the designs are well-​tailored and hang well, sometimes they’re a little large. Some items, like the leggings, come in sizes 1 through 3. Seems cryptic at first, but 1 is small, 2 is medium, and 3 is large.
I’ve been here in between seasons and gotten some reasonable deals. Otherwise, a good place for fine cotton and knit basics!

I too was excited about Michael Stars coming to Fashion Island so I went in a couple of days ago, Monday, March 15^th. An overweight blonde in her 20’s sized me up as I walked in and in a fake, too-​loud voice pointedly asked what I was looking for. As a middle-​aged mom pushing a stroller, I know I’m not a fashion plate but since we’re the ones actually spending money at this mall, I expected her to at least be kind to me. On my way out, when I mentioned I’d be going to another store to look around, she screeched, «perfect!», her voice dripping with sarcasm. Michael Stars executives should mystery shop this store and get a firsthand look at how customers are actually treated. I ended up going over to Anthropologie and spent $ 200. The sales clerks there realize that we’re the reason they have a job in this economy. They are truly warm and friendly there. Michael Stars, I won’t be back; you hire snotty, mean girls, you lose my business. You also lose my family’s business, my friend’s business…

I had the best experience the other day. I was at Fashion Island and had no idea there was a Michael Stars store. I was needing a gift for my mom and I knew she loved their turtlenecks.
I had no idea that everything was one size fits most, but the girl who helped me was so excited about the brand and we found the perfect top and a great scarf for her. It was hard to just shop for my mom, I wanted to pick up a few things for myself.
Anyway, they store is huge and has everything you can think of… I will go back for the holidays, and the GIFT BOXES… are amazing. I am so excited they are in Orange County.
