NewportCare Urgent Care

I’m leaving a review specifically for Dr. Sobral Carlos’s office and not necessarily the Urgent Care. I just changed my primary Dr. since the specialist that I want to see is under a different medical group, however every single time I try to call just to check for status, direction, or even an appt. I’m either put on hold for a very long time or no one would pick up the phone. It’s so frustrating to deal with an office with no availability. Even when someone finally picks up, I’m told I’ll get a call back within an hour and of course no one would call me back as promised so I’d have to call back several times to follow up AGAIN. Not sure how this office runs their business, but I would probably change to a different doctor just so I can feel assured that my issues would be addressed in a timely manner. So frustrating!!!

I went to see Dr. Carlos Sobral for my physical. Dr. Sobral is detailed oriented and has excellent bed manners. He used to work in the city of Fullerton many years ago, and I had to look for him since he has been my doctor for many years. I highly recommend him as a primary care provider.

This place is a joke, they are open until 6pm yet the lady said they had no doctor to see me at 5:20pm. Apparently he had gone home for the day already. Do not go here.

The NewportCare Pharmacy does a great job, Noori is awesome! She really cares and wants to help, I highly recommend this place!

As a walk-​in, it took only 1 ½ hours from check in to leaving including pharmacy. I had a very personable doctor, Dr Sorbal, and pharmacist on site made it very convenient for treatment (if being ill is ever convenient!). Staff was very professional and pleasant. I would recommend Newport Urgent Care without hesitation.

I see how Unilocal works now. I was just looking at my older reviews and found an option to change a review from before. That is a neat idea to have available. OK, so an update on this wonderful knee and overall amazing doctor. I am so grateful that I can report that this doctor really took care of magic. I was dealing with over 10 years of horrible pain, lack of movement, all sorts of BS from a ton of other docs, BUT, THIS DOC… IS A ROCKSTAR. LOOK… GO HERE… AND GET YOUR HELP… PAY THE FEE… IT WILL BE THE BEST MONEY YOU SPENT. If they ask who sent you then just tell them AM/PM…they don’t know me because I don’t live normal hours… and what fun would it be to write reviews for people who know you inside and out… ROCK ON ROCKSTAR DOCS… you are all amazing!!!

Not open on Saturdays like it says, tried to walk into one today only to find out it was closed. :(

Wow. I expected so much better from this place. It’s all looks and no service. Their tech is old and gross. It looks so fancy from the outside but they do not make up for it. We came in because my brother hurt his foot on a skim board. We are on vacation so came here straight from the beach. After waiting over an hr i complained & they took us back. They finally looked at the foot & took a quick x Ray (on a super old machine). Then he just tells my brother your fine & rest for 3 days. They didn’t even wrap it in an ace bandage! Or anything! It was horrible!!! No direction like «Ice it or elevate it» absolutely nothing. He said «rest for 3 days «that’s it. Fail. Where no nice or caring at all.

Came in here for an emergency issue and they had us waiting for over an hour even with an appointment. The doctor was rude and felt like he couldn’t wait to get rid of us. Despite the name of the building I don’t recommend this place to anyone in need of urgent care

My husband is 83 and called his dermatoligist because he had cut his arm and had a long cut. His doctor could not see him until Monday, but suggested an urgent care center. Joe had been to the MRI center for bone density since he knew of the center he decided to go and see if he needed stitches. Joe said he was seen quickly and he was very impressed with Dr. Mohtadi. Doctor gave him antibiotic and said the wound was too large to get stitches, but would heal better without them. The doctor spent 40 minutes and really was reassuring and competent. Our family will be using this center for emergency shots, treatment. He took insurance and was a very nice guy. Thank you we will have you in our card index for quick medical attention. This is a great country isn’t it?

The Doctor was amazing! He was caring, he listen and did not rush me through my appointment. I highly recommend him!

Excellent service! I stepped on a nail and needed a tetanus shot. I arrived at 11:15am, was called back at 11:30, by 11:45am the doctor had already seen me and was about to give me the shot. I ended up needing antibiotics and the pharmacy was right upstairs. I was out in my car by 12:00pm. The place is gorgeous, clean and welcoming which included chandeliers, flowers, comfy large chairs, and soothing music.

It’s never fun when you are not feeling well and are forced to see a doctor, or go to an urgent care for any reason. I recently have had the most persistent ear ace in both of my ears, and after the first visit to an urgent care. Who gave me nasel spray and a 10 day regimen of antibiotics the inflection was gone, however the pressure around my ears still persisted, and it wasn’t getting any better. I called numerous urgent care centers in this area as I don’t have insurance, and this one seemed to be the most reasonable at 100 $ to see a doctor pluse what ever was recommend or prescribed by the doctor. Once I arrived the facility was extremely clean and nice. The receptionist at the front was also extremely nice, and the wait to be seen was not long at all. The doctor that had seen me Dr. Mohtadi was so amazing he took the time to explain to me what exactly was going on with my ears. Covered all the bases of my problem, and didn’t rush though anything. He truly cared about my problem, prescribed me exactly what I needed, and even helped to keep the cost of the my prescription down knowing my situation. A few days later I even got a follow up call from him personally to see how I was doing. If I could give more stares I would. Dr Mohtadi is a man who truly cares about his patients. I couldn’t be more happy and I will definitely recommend to everyone

Last week had a freak surf accident and took a spoonful of flesh out of my calf using the tail end of fin. In pain, I pulled up the leg of my wetsuit and saw bits of orange fat and flesh hanging to the side of a deep gouge as blood squirted out. I felt the blood draining from my head and almost fainted right there lol.
My brother who was with me that morning loaded up the car and we took off to find the nearest hospital. As I was trying to find my happy place I Unilocaled the nearest urgent care facility and opted to try this one due to the favorable reviews. I hobbled in and luckily there weren’t any patients ahead of me. Dr. Mohtadi got to work on me right away. He immediately gave me some shots to numb the area and my panic and pain began to subside. He then expertly cleaned the area and gave me 13 stitches. It looked like things were going to be alright.
The five star reviews posted truly reflect the experience. Dr. Mohtadi is super cool, the facilities are super clean and up to date. They take appointments too so if it’s not an emergency it’s good to make one. Looks like they also have a full imaging center in the same facility (separate business) offering CT, X-​ray, MRI and Pet. Good to know.

I am rarely sick, and hate going to the doctor, but thought I would try this place out due to it’s proximity to my home… always good to have quick access for when you need urgent care. I was very pleased with the facility and Dr. Mohtadi. He was able to address my back problem (stiffness and pain due to laying in bed for a week from a prior illness) by not just prescribing «symptom suppression» but also a simple routine for self induced physical therapy. I also appreciated that he recommended a chiropractor if I was unable to find relief via his routine. I have not found many medical doctors who recommend chiropractors and appreciated it.
The facility is clean, reception is pleasant and the treatment was superb as I am now feeling much better even the next day as I write this. Recomended.

I have never met a great doctor until I went to Dr. Farzin Mohtadi… He is a wonderful
doctor. He goes above and beyond. I went there not feeling so hot, and he took a flu test on me. I had flu A, and flu B, he gave me medicine. he takes his time to listen to you. other doctors I went to never took the time. If you want excellent care, go to Newport urgent care and ask for Dr. Farzin Mohtadi.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I was in the building to see a specialist and was also feeling a cold coming on. As I was dreading having to leave there and then go to my usual urgent care and wait the usual 2 hours just to be seen, I looked up and saw the URGENT CARE sign. I checked with Ashley (who is the BEST) at the desk and sure enough, they could see me right after my apt with the specialist. WOW!!! No waiting. But wait folks… there’s more!!! It gets even better. Dr Mohtadi is incredible. Yes he’s a doctor!!! Yes he sees patients!!! But he actually CARES!!! He listened to my symptoms, my chest and my concerns. He wasn’t looking at his watch or daydreaming as I talked (Been there, done that, bought the T-​shirt). I hadn’t even started the antibiotics yet and I already felt better. This place is not the closest urgent care to where I live and had I not been referred to this specialist, I would never have gone here or been in the neighborhood, but I will be going here from now on and so will my husband. The time spent driving there and back + the wait (no wait) is still hours less than I would have spent in my former urgent care. Kudos to Dr Mohtadi and Ashley for making my experience an enjoyable one. Yes people, I said enjoyable!!! So I say… if you have to do urgent, make it Newportcare Urgent Care!!!

Don’t go to this place. Horrible customer service!
