A must to rent from! Owner was very relaxed and we were not on a timeline to bring the bikes back before he closed. Loved the flexibility and the service!
Walked up, had the bikes in hand in minutes and off to the balboa island ferry to balboa peninsula! Great way to cruise around!

We spoke to Liam on a Sunday night to make our arrangements, and had a wonderful 3 ½ to 4 hour tour with him the next day. He is quite personable, knows the area very well, and is just plain fun to be out with. He was completely accommodating to any little quirks we had, modified the trip as needed for our skills and we would not hesitate at all to highly recommend him for anyone in the area who wants to go out with a fun knowledgeable guide.

Not only does SportsRents have the best bikes it also has spectacular service. Seriously!
I had an All-​Star baseball player with me for the weekend and although they had no idea who would be riding their bikes, they delivered ALLSTAR service. They delivered the bikes to my home on the Island and made sure my bike there was cleaned and tires pumped with air as well. They also made arrangements to pick up the bikes to add to extra convenience. Honestly, i will always use SportsRent!

Great little secret spot on balboa island to quickly park and plop into the water on one of their brand new SUPs. Avoided all the parking drama found on the peninsula. Super cool shop owner. Best way to SUP in Newport Harbor

Super nice, super helpful, proprietor. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE TO FIX A FLAT TIRE ON BALBOA ISLAND. For my purposes, this was fantastic. I was on a trip from Newport Beach to Laguna, by way of Balboa and the ferry, and running into Liam and his shop ensured that I could get my tire fixed, and be on my way.

Sportsrents is an amazing paddle board and bike shop! His location is prime for the harbor and easy to find. Liam is very helpful, amiable, and accommodating to customers. My first experience there, I brought my boys from Arizona down to the shop. Liam brought the boards down to the water for us (not many shops do that for you) and gave us a full tutorial on how to paddle board. He even told us the best spots for paddling in the harbor! The place where he told us to launch out of was perfect for maintaining your balance in the marina. Newport harbor waters are calm and beautiful, a great place for beginners! Liam’s boards are top of the line and he has different sizes depending on your height and paddle boarding skill. Will definitely spread the word and return for more SUPin’!

I had nothing but the best experience with SportsRents. We came to the island he set us up with two paddle boards. He brought them to the bay for us and got them for us when we were done. We have rented from SportsRents several times and always have had nothing but the best experience. Liam is so gracious that when we did the Stand Up for the Cure charity event he brought the boards over to us and even picked them up after our event. The equipment that he rents is extremely well taken care of.

We rent bikes and paddle boards from this place every time we come down to Balboa Island. Great equipment, super helpful and accommodating staff. Located at the Marine Ave bridge right next to the bay front!
