Wahoo’s Fish Tacos

What a disappointment! A total waste of $ 25. First let me say the service was good. The bartender who served us (we didn’t have drinks, just lunch) was very on top of it and friendly. However the food was awful. I had the shredded pork sandwich which was not shredded but chunked. It claims to have avocado on it, yes it had about one bite of Avo for the whole sandwich. The citrus slaw should be called «citrus cilantro». I had three bites and all I could taste was cilantro (which is one of my LEAST favorite herbs/​veggies/​spices — whatever category it falls under) And my sandwich was loaded with the same thing so I felt like I had a plate full of cilantro. First of all, when a restaurant sells something as «Citrus slaw» I would assume most guests would think CABBAGE. I’ve never had cilantro in a cole slaw, and certainly not THAT MUCH cilantro. All that cilantro ruined my lunch. The black beans were tough, cold, and no flavor whatsoever. This is the second and last time I’ll be at a WaHoos. I don’t know what all the hype is on this place, but I won’t be back.

can’t go wrong with this location, the one by the beach was awful, it’s as if they threw the cajan stuff on the fries and this location, at fashion island. took their time. glad I gave this place second shot! .food was kept warm and employees cared if everything was good :)

The Banzai Burrito, with spicy fish & red sauce. Wow! It’s large for what I paid. Can’t complain whatsoever.

Went for a quick take-​out lunch today. Waited for order for 20 minutes, when I finally complained what was taking so long, the employee packing all the to-​go orders reached over to the side of the pass through and «oh here’s your food». How long had it been sitting there? No apology was offered just «oh sorry we’re busy», which was not true as there were many empty tables and only a few people in line.
When the order was taken, we were offered chips and guacamole but not told it was extra (hello Chipotle), and for one Maui Bowl, a fountain drink, chips and guac the total was over $ 16. Never going back!

Overpriced, took twenty five minutes for two stinking lousy bland burritos. Sat by the kitchen and watched the staff pick and choose which tickets to prepare. After 15 minutes I asked about our order and the manager without an apology said «It should be here soon», waited another ten and it finally arrived in all its disgusting glory, dry cold and bland.
We ate at the Wahoo’s in Aliso Viejo and it was good, but after this experience, we will not frequent any of Mr. Wahoo’s Fish Taco’s ever again.
With all the choices in Southern California you really don’t need to be treated so poorly in a fast food restaurant.

Seriously overpriced (even though food probably deserves 3.5÷5 and I would probably round up)!!!
Two small tacos for over 7 dollar is not okay. LA is all about dollar taco this is not okay.
The citrus tacos have really great flavor to it. But the meat isn’t cooked flavorful enough and I don’t understand why there are 2 tortilla for each taco. They also gave me forks. What for?

Man this food is awesome. Everything i have ever ordered is delicious and healthy and they actually get your order correct. Btw the carne asada is to die for. And always ask for Gary hes great

Nice lunch, nice meal with some local draft’s, not too expensive and was nice to get out of the sun, parking was free.

I eat at this location on a regular basis as I work right across the street and was eating a Maui bowl and almost chipped my tooth when I bit down on a rusted price of sharp metal about ½ inch large. I immediately called to report this to a manager and they offered to refund my meal if I was able to drive back and give them the price of metal. Ummm? How about u access your food prep protocol so someone doesn’t end up in the hospital with a GI bleed? This is a huge problem and I am reporting to food and drug administration. Never eating here again.

So awesome, Eric has been there years and is amazing. Been coming here for years to watch the uefa champions League games and it’s a good spot for it. I’d say one of best places in orange county to watch that; so head ups soccer lovers

Maui bowl is it! Best black beans & white rice around. Nice happy hour (unexpected for a food court style location). Really Wahoos is Wahoos but they are the best at what they do.

Really good fish tacos at a good price for a restaurant. lots of healthy options too! Good place for a quick and healthy lunch.
Must check this place out!

Had curly hair in nachos. The manager Omar couldn’t be bothered gave us new nachos but no apology avoid at all cost unless you like curly black hair in your food.

One thing here you won’t see at other Wahoo’s is the great water wall and koi ponds just outside
Lots of booths is a great bonus.

Ivy the bartender is awesome !! She knows what I order and I’m greeted with a smile every time I come in. She makes my experience amazing every time thanks Ivy. Further more couldn’t think of a better place to grab a bite to eat and drink while Chatting it up with the bartender of the year.

OMG! I went to this place for the first time.
The Bartender had NO product knowledge.
When I asked where the cheese was on my tacos he said, «Well there’s a little cheese on them».
When I asked for 2 more slices of lime, get ready… he picked up to slices of lime in his bare hand and handed them to me. Hello health department!!! When I very quietly told the Manager, (Who wouldn’t shake my hand because he said he had fish on them)
He looked at me like… Soo.
Then he said he would address it. I’m just STUNNED. I mean no harm to them but, WOW!!!. No bare hand is allowed to touch any food like that at the bar.

Baja Rolls — Chicken breast, cream cheese, spinach, salsa, hand rolled in flour tortilla. $ 5.35 with tax included.
Picture on their wall made it seem like it would come with rice and beans… But that’s all I got in the picture. :0 It totally reminded me of a mini version of what you’d get at Costco, so it’s not really worth it for me.
They have new wild caught salmon, so I might try that next time… But we will see. I’ve been to another location before for their shrimp and chicken tacos with green sauce as well as Maui Teriyaki bowl, but it’s nothing that I would crave and go out of my way for.

In the cavernous underbelly of Fashion Island lies what is essentially Taco Bell with a full bar. No really, your burrito will be fully prepared in less than five minutes, with a simple combination of protein, beans, and rice. My carne asada was almost identical in taste and texture to the fast food chain. Trust me – I’ve had a lot of that stuff in my time.
Anyway, the baja rolls were disappointing. I was not expecting a cold, cut-​up deli wrap, but I dealt with it. Hunger, after all, is the best spice.
This place does admittedly have some cool happy hours, though… like $ 5 pitchers during some college sports games. I can dig that. In fact, that’s gonna be the redeeming factor that bumps them from 2 – 3 stars. The thought of being secluded underground, beer-​in-​hand with cheap burritos on demand sounds admittedly awesome. Not your typical fast-​casual dining experience.
Oh, and it’s a fish taco place, after all. I’m pretty sure the seafood is what you should order.
