We stayed here for USCG A School graduation. Hotel was clean, the staff was very professional, courteous, and the breakfast was great! The staff seemed like they were happy to be at work and really enjoyed their jobs. Thank you Assistant General Manager Mr. Mayo for a pleasant stay!

I stayed here for two nights the weekend after Thanksgiving. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was greeted and quickly checked in. The front desk staff was so friendly and greeted me everytime I walked through the door my entire stay. Any questions I asked were answered. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels where the staff is just pain out hostile, so this was a welcome relief. I was a little worried about the rating– I didn’t want to stay in a roach motel, but was pleasantly surprised upon entering my room. The bed was HUGE and there was a couch with a TV. The bed was incredibly comfortable with both firm and soft pillows– and plenty of them! They serve a free breakfast. I never eat much in the morning, but I grabbed a muffin and noticed they have a waffle maker. I have to travel back to the area and chose this motel over the others in the area just because I had such a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend them. The rooms are clean and nice and prices are very reasonable considering how nice it is.

Booked this hotel for a Virginia beach and Busch Gardens weekend as it was convenient in both price and location. The queen size bed was comfortable and the bedding used was surprisingly very nice. The staff was friendly enough and the continental breakfast was good for a quick bite of cereal and coffee. Would probably book again.

Only stayed one night, thank God! The price was ok, but you definitely get what you pay for. Kids wanted to use the pool couldn’t, we were told maybe the next day maybe Monday. Hmmm that works we are leaving in the morning. Once the night came… away went the quiet! People outside the main door talking extra loud standing right next to each other, yelling and cursing in the parking lot, the hallway on our floor and the worst laughs in history all this at 2 in the morning. Kept our entire family awake. Not the best way to start a trip! Cranky tired kids. Cheap isn’t always good. Would avoid this place for sure.

My non-smoking room smelled like smoke so badly that I couldn’t sleep and it left me with a soar throat.

Stayed there for two nights. The price was good and the room was clean with comfortable beds The bad: the hotel was completely booked up by a a large group with kids running all over the hotel. I am not faulting the hotel for this but they were certainly not ready to handle such a crowd especially at breakfast. It was nearly impossible to get to the food and the staff was extremely slow at restocking. The staff was also not particular nice when the refused to give me a box of cereals a few minutes past 9 – 30. The breakfast would have been nice with eggs and waffles but they need at least two waffle irons since the wait was 10 – 15 minutes at best.

We stayed at this Comfort Inn for just one night as we were passing through. The good — the room was unexpectedly clean and breakfast wasn’t too bad. They are updating as well so things will probably get better. The bad — it was unbearably loud until at least 2AM. There were drunk people screaming, running up and down stairs, and banging on doors every fifteen minutes all night. We tried calling the front desk to complain but got no answer. Perhaps if you’re there and plan on joining the party, this is the place for you but we didn’t sleep and will certainly not stay here ever again.

I kept trying to justify it as «just one night» so it would be ok. But even with«just one night» one would expect to be able to actually sleep in a hotel… The lobby was decently deceptive. Once we got up to the rooms you could tell this place was bad. They were fine for«just one night», that is until the actual night came. That is when all of the lovely sounds that kept me up all night started. The refrigerator clicked at an annoying fast paced tick. The conversations at midnight in the parking lot were loud, long, and clear. The room next door was easily heard. The heater/ac under the window was unbearably loud, even on its lowest setting. And the temperature options seemed to be just hot. Or cold. I avoided the shower for just one night, but if the sink was any indicator of the shower quality I would expect it to have low pressure and unpredictable temperatures. Though the price was right for«just one night» it was the basic equivalent of paying $ 70 to sleep in a car, and get«free breakfast» for doing so.

Getting down here from the DC area took twice as long as it should have thanks to all the people traveling for the holiday weekend. Not only that, this hotel is in a very commercial area of Newport News and the holiday shoppers were out in full force causing massive traffic. So all I wanted to do was check in and relax. The front desk staff was very pleasant. They even had fresh baked cookies when I walked in. Now if that’s not welcoming, I don’t know what is. The room was ok. The main negatives of my stay were that the bathroom was really small and the wireless internet was ridiculously slow. They do have a computer to use near the lobby. They also have a decent complimentary breakfast. Note: when you turn off of Jefferson Avenue, watch for the«Enter» sign. You want to turn before the Enter sign. If you turn when you see it, you’re instinct will be to turn after and into the curb.
